Geochemistuy of the Borehole Groundwater from Volcanic Rocks in the Northeastern Part of Yeosu Area (여수 북동부 화산암 지역 시추공 지하수의 지화학 특성)

  • The geochemical studies on groundwater in the borehole, which is straddled by multi-packer (MP) system, were carried out from a volcanic terrain in the Yeosu area. The pH of groundwater collected from selected sections in the MP-installed borehole is much higher (up to 9.6) than that of the borehole groundwater (7.0-7.9) collected using conventional pumping technique. Hydrochemistry shows that the groundwater has a typical chemical change with increasing sampling depth, suggesting that the groundwater is evolved through water-rock interaction along the fracture-controlled flow paths. The groundwater from the deeper part (138-175 m below the surface) in borehole KI is characterized by the Ca-C11 type with high Ca (up to 160 mg/L) and Cl (up to 293 mg/L) contents, probably reflecting seawater intrusion. The groundwater also has high sodium and sulfate contents compared to the waters from other boreholes. These observed groundwater chemistry is explained by the cation exchange, sulfide oxidation, and mixing process with seawater along the flow path.

  • This paper is purpose for improvement performance wireless lan of IEEE802.11a/b/g. Access point utilized a single server, multi-queuing system, FIFS system model to adapted priority multi-bufferto be alteration packet type. The main purpose of the paper improve the transmission rate and the performance of access point to settle transmission delay for load in MAC, has priority multi-buffer. We use experimentation to obtain our model of the access point and buffer-related parameters. Using our test design, we are able to extract the parameters of an analytic equation giving the average service time of a packet as a function of packer IP payload.

Geochemical Study on the Alluvial Aquifer System of the Nakdong River for the Estimation of River Bank Filtration (강변여과수 개발을 위한 낙동강 충적층 지하수의 지구화학적 특성연구)

  • Geochemical studies on the alluvial aquifer system near the Nakdong River were carried out for the basic investigation of the estimation of artificial recharge for the river bank filtration. In-situ data do not show any distinct difference between the pumping well and river. Most of waters belong to $_3$ and Ca-$SO_4$ types and show high Mn concentration. In the borehole installed with Multi-Ca-HCOPacker (MP) system, Na, Ca, Mg, $HCO_3$ contents of the groundwater are increased with depth increasing. Cl and $SO_4$ contents of the groundwater show the lowest values at the bottom level (18m depth) and Mn content is very high at the middle level (13.5 m depth) of MP system. There is no distinct difference in the ${\delta}^{18}O$ and D values and tritium content between MP, borehole and surface water samples. The sulfur isotope data indicate that the possible sulfur source is dissolution of sulfate mineral from sedimentary rock. Strontium isotope ratio shows a little differences between the pumping well and observation borehole samples. Nitrogen isotope data indicate that the nitrogen of water samples is originated from fertilizer or organic materials.

  • The geological research as a part of HLW disposal program in Korea is carried out to provide necessary data for the establishment of the reference repository system in term of design and safety assessment in the crystalline rock terrains. Six deep boreholes were drilled to obtain hydrogeological and hydrochemical data from Jurassic granites in the Yuseong area, Korea. The core observation, televiewer logging and hydraulic testing were carried out during and after drilling and multi-packer system were installed in the boreholes of 500m depth for hydraulic and hydrochemical monitoring including environmental isotopes. The integration of hydrogeochemical and hydrodynamic data would be built greater confidence for the understanding of groundwater system in fractured rock mass. This geoscientific program could be possible to suggest a general guideline to develop the reference disposal concept of high-level radioactive waste in Korea.

Characteristics of Hydraulic Head Variation at Multi-packer Wells in a Coastal Area (해안지역 다중패커공에서의 수리수두 변화 특성)

  • For hydrogeological studies, it is of importance to observe hydraulic head in order to interpret groundwater flow, characterize aquifers, and calibrate groundwater flow model. This study analyzed the zonal variation of hydraulic heads at the eight monitoring wells (GM-1~GM-8) installed with multi-packers in a coastal area and verified vertical and lateral trends of the hydraulic gradients. Hydraulic heads were expressed as the depth of water because the monitoring wells have different depths. The hydraulic gradient at the nearest well (GM-5) shows 0.0142 with increasing trend of hydraulic gradient along depth. This fact indicates typical phenomenon of the discharge area. On the other hand, GM-1 and GM-2 wells in coastal area demonstrate constant hydraulic gradient down to the depth of 100 meters while at the zone of deeper than 100 m the hydraulic gradients illustrate 0.0196 and 0.0735, respectively. This indicates that horizontal flow is dominant at shallower zone than 100 m whereas upward flow is dominant at the zone deeper than 100 m. GM-3 well located farther than the other wells from the coast shows a small hydraulic gradient of 0.0046 that evidences a prevalent horizontal flow between the recharge area and the discharge area.

심부시추공 지하수의 심도별 지화학 특성

  • 대전 북부 화강암지역 내 심도 500m까지 굴착한 시추공에 다중패커 시스템(Multi-packer system)을 이용하여 구간별로 지하수 시료채취를 수행하고, 시추공 지하수에 대한 지화학 특성 연구를 수행하였다. 다중패커 시스템에 의해 구간별로 격리된 시추공 지하수의 수리화학자료는 구간별로 특징적인 화학조성을 나타낸다 다중패커 시스탬이 설치된 직후 채취한 지하수 시료와 일정시간이 경과한 후 채취한 시료간에는 시기별로 화학특성의 차이를 보이는데 이는 시추당시 사용된 시추수의 영향 때문인 것으로 사료된다. 또한 심도 115m를 기준으로 상부구간과 하부구간에 지화학 특성에서 큰 차이를 보이고 있는데 이는 시추공 굴착당시 단열대의 붕괴로 인해 시공된 그라우팅의 영향 때문이다. 이상치를 보이는 115m 구간을 제외하고, 시추공 지하수의 지화학 자료는 구간별로 명확히 구별되어 화강암 지역에서 지하수의 유동은 단열분포특성에 영향을 받음이 확인되었다.

  • 일반적으로 사용되는 비탈면 보강공법은 중력식 혹은 가압식 네일링, 앵커 등이 있다. 이들 공법은 주입재 주입압력이 중력식무압 혹은 낮은 압력의 가압에 의한 것으로서, 실제로 단층파쇄대, 붕적층, 이완 및 절리 등이 발달한 지반에서는 일정압력의 가압주입에 의한 지반보강과 보강재에 의한 네일링 효과를 동시에 기대해야 한다. 본 사례에서는 가압주입의 효과를 높이기 위해 보강구간을 일정한 간격으로 나누고 구간별 별도의 주입펌프를 연결하여 보강길이 전구간을 동시에 주입하는 멀티패커시스템(MPS)공법을 소개하고자 한다.

시추공지하수의 지화학 파라미터 측정방법 고찰

  • 한국원자력연구소 내 심부시추공(YS-01, 500m)에 설치된 다중패커시스템(multi-packer system)을 이용하여 양수(pumping) 시 GL. $-457.5{\sim}-500m$ 구간의 지하수에 대한 중요한 지화학 파라미터인 pH, 산화-환원전위, 용존산소 및 전기전도도 등을 장기간 측정하였다. 이에 따르면 현장측정자료는 시간이 경과함에 따라 변화되며 장시간이 경과된 후에 안정화됨을 보여주고 있다. 특히, 산화-환원전위의 경우는 10일이 경과되었음에도 계속 변화하고 있다. 심부지하수 뿐만 아니라 일반 지하수의 경우에도 이러한 파라미터 측정 시 안정화시간에 대하여 유의하여야 할 것이다.
