This study was focused on digital restoration and structural stability evaluation applying 3D scanning system of five-storied Magoksa temple stone pagoda in Gongju. For these, the digital restoration of the pagoda was completed using laser scan data which is measured 16 directions and data processing program of 7 stages. As a result of digital restoration, the overall height and width of stone properties showed a little difference in directions and the width of roof stones appeared very high difference of each floor. The width of pagoda body become smaller to the fifth floor, but gradual decrease rate showed irregular characteristics. Also, as result of 3D image analysis for structural stability evaluation, the displacement occurred toward northwest in second body stone to upper final stone except for central axis of the first body stone which inclines toward southwest. Such 3D image analysis is required quantification of survey method and should be applied to various field such as quantitative damage maps in order to utilize a conservation of stone cultural heritages, continuously.

In Honam province, the cultural prototype are largely unknown to the people, also the research on this subject are scarce, the artistic excellence, somewhat under evaluated, both in our country and internationally. It is imperative that we develop the modern design using this prototype. thereby apply it to many areas of cultural products. We should extend the dimension not only to the local festival but also to the mass production resulting in the commercial gains. The Unjusa Buddha festival for promoting the public relation would be greatly benefited by using the concept of the temple, the local prototype, by which we expect to create a ingenious textile design pattern, coinciding with the main purpose of this study. The ancient material around Unjusa come to be the subject of our textile design by way of selecting the most remarkable ones of heritage among the materials of Unjusa. In the long run, the harmonious contrast of both traditional and modern image were sought in this study. Designed patterns were edited using Adobe Photoshop CS3, a multi-purpose graphic program and were simulated in the towel for visual presentation. The design is of two kinds, the one is of the free style using combinations of reclining Buddha, stone Buddha, stone pagoda, and geometric patterns freely not to be standardized. The other one is mixing of lotus pattern, reclining Buddha, and geometric patterns. These designs were applied delicately on the towel, necktie and handkerchief, and the various colors were suggested by the 6 color ways. The brilliance of our traditional cultural property should be noted by these designs and I hope that this study would be a help to develop our cultural prototype and make a product of using the outstanding heritage.

Recently, concepts of multicultural society and/or multiculturalism have been not only widely discussed across several disciplines, but also actively promoted in government's policy, as the in-flow of foreign immigrants has increased rapidly. This paper suggests the term 'multicultural space' instead of multicultural society in a sense that both international migration of immigrants and their accommodation to a certain locality presuppose a spatial dimension. This paper also points out that the term multiculturalsim should be used very carefully, because this term includes a normative character implied in a sense of recognition of ethnic and cultural diversity and difference on the one hand, and an ideological one reflected on strategic policies of capital and the state on the other. On the basis of recognition of these problems, this paper tries to reformulate spatially the concept of muticultural society which has been supposed to be constructed due to rapidly increasing foreign immigrants, emphasizing some usefulness of multi-scalar approach. It then analyzes economic and political contexts of transnational migration, providing a criticism of multiculturalism as an ideological logic of capital and the state in transnational captialism. Finally it put a stress upon importance of struggle for spaces of recognition as a new glocal ethics in the age of post-globalization.

Advertising is regarded as one of media's most proficient instruments of reflecting changing society. It represents the channel through which globalization and consumption culture have spread into everyday life. This study explores the significance and representations of multi-culturalism in contemporary television commercials. For the purpose, the social and historical meanings of the term 'multi-culturalism', generated inside and outside Korea, are discussed. A series of text analysis are followed, focusing on the representation of non-Korean models in terms of ethnicity and race. The result shows that the advertising is the instrument utilized in creating the relationship between multi-culturalism and racialism, which is called 'strategic multi-culturalism'. This strategy commonly happens in today's commercial advertising such as information/telecommunication, real estate/branded apartment complex, and bank/finance market. Despite the increasing number of multi-cultural commercials in the past decade, multi-culturalism in Korean society has not yet fully articulated.

The basic strategy of OSMU(One-source Multi-use) in digital image is a marketing that applying one source to other genres for leverage based on that cross-referencing in different genre enabled that one material(one-source) has synergy effect when reproduced to various products(multi-use) as cultural sources are available through on-line and digital format. Recently, according to the characteristics of culture industry with Window Effect, many culture contents such as movies, games, animations and characters are carefully planned at its design stage to get the maximum effect. Especially, the fact that one leading-trend source makes it easier to produce additional products with the least cost is observed and it enables organized management which resulted in low marketing and PR cost. This paper confirmed that OSMU strategy in Korea mainly get started from online to offline comparing to Japan and USA.

Piled multi-block system has been frequently adopted in the historic structures or monuments of cultural heritage. It is well known that such a structural system is very vulnerable to the earthquake shaking. If the structure is of slender type, then it may experience overturning at very low level intensity of ground shaking. One of the methods used to protect such structures from earthquake is seismic isolation system. But the behavior of multi-block systems mounted on the isolated basis is not well understood yet. In this paper we investigate the dynamic behavior of single slender rigid block mounted on the three different isolation systems, i.e., P-F system, FPS and LRB system. Sliding at the isolation interface of P-F system and FPS is formulated based on Coulomb friction. The mounted single block is assumed undergoing rocking or sticking only. Impacting of a single block is described using distinct element method (DEM). Free vibrations due to a prescribed initial conditions are studied. Responses to the harmonic excitation and earthquake motions are calculated

The purpose of this study is to investigate American traditional values and American culture in English education. The understanding of American culture in English education requires the analysis of world changes in the global age. The history of American English, the formation of American society, and the background of natural environment are described in relation to the traditional American values of the earliest settlers, such as multi-culture, individual freedom, frontier heritage in the West, equality of opportunity and wealth and material abundance. Hence the case studies of students' project presentations on the American culture in English education exemplify the reflection of American traditional values in the current American life and society. It is concluded that project-based method with regard to cultural studies in English education reveals very positive learning effects by driving students' interests and active participation through the student-centered, creative, and cooperative project presentations.

When surveying the cultural heritages especially in the case of stone structures, preserving their originalstate is of primary importance. For the effective assessment of survey results of stone structure, thedynamic characteristics of that system should be considered. Dynamic characteristics of stone masonry structures depend on several factors such as coefficients of friction, contact conditions, and number of layers of bonding stones. These factors can be estimated by using the dynamic analysis results. This paper describes a method for natural frequency determination of traditional stone arch bridge subjected to compressive force. For this purpose, multi-layered granite brick models of for arch bridge were made and fundamental frequencies corresponding increasing axial forces were measured.

This study was initiated to inquire as to why Wal-Mart failed in the Korean market. For multi-national corporations, environmental differences such as cultural and social differences among countries require business strategies to vary country by country. In Korea, Confucian Ethics are penetrated in every aspect of people's lives. An important aspect of Confucian Ethics is the role and responsibility of women in society. Considering this, businesses need to understand Korean women's preferences as consumers and develop business strategies accordingly. This study emphasizes that IS strategy is one component of the business strategy and, as such, must be rooted in business issues. Understanding that IS strategy should fit to national contexts, this study investigates the underlying process in which IT-based strategic capability is developed according to national context to gain competitive advantages.

최근 오픈마켓의 급속한 성장과 함께 다중 플랫폼을 위한 콘텐츠 시장이 확대되고 있다. 특히 오픈마켓에 등록된 콘텐츠의 약 15%가 게임콘텐츠가 차지할 만큼 게임은 오픈마켓에서 중요한 비중을 차지하고 있고, 다양한 부가가치를 창출하고 있다. 시뮬레이션게임은 크게 전략시뮬레이션게임, 레이싱시뮬레이션게임, 경영시뮬레이션게임, 육성시뮬레이션게임 등 플레이어의 역할 및 게임의 목적에 따라 다양하게 구분되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기후변화와 기상 이변으로 인한 환경파괴를 게임배경으로 하여 식물과 동물들이 살아갈 수 있는 환경을 만드는 것을 게임컨셉으로 하였으며, 다중 플랫폼 기반의 육성시뮬레이션장르에 경영적인 측면과 교육적인 기능성게임의 요소를 포함한 게임을 개발하였다.
