Turbo processing have been known as methods close to Shannon limit in the aspect of wireless multi-input multi-output (MIMO) communications similarly to wireless single antenna communication. The iterative processing can maximize the mutual effect of coding and interference cancellation, but LDPC coding has not been used for turbo processing because of the inherent decoding process delay. This paper suggests a LDPC coded MIMO system with turbo parallel space-time (Turbo-PAST) processing for high-speed wireless communications and proposes a average soft-output syndrome (ASS) check scheme at low signal to noise ratio (SNR) for the Turbo-PAST system to decide the reliability of decoded frame. Simulation results show that the suggested system outperforms conventional system and the proposed ASS scheme effectively reduces the amount of turbo processing iterations without performance degradation from the point of average number of iterations.

The performance of underwater acoustic communication systems is sensitive to inter-symbol interference caused by delay spread developed from multipath signal propagation. The multipath nature of underwater channels causes signal distortion and error floor. In order to improve the performance, it is necessary to employ an iterative coding scheme. Of the various iterative coding schemes, turbo code and convolutional code based on the BCJR algorithm have recently dominated this application. In this study, the performance of iterative codes based on turbo equalizers with equivalent coding rates and similar code word lengths were analyzed. Underwater acoustic communication system experiments using these two coding techniques were conducted on Kyeong-chun Lake in Munkyeong City. The distance between the transmitter and receiver was 400 m, and the data transfer rate was 1 Kbps. The experimental results revealed that the performance of turbo codes is better for channeling than that of convolutional codes that use a BCJR decoding algorithm.

According to the rapid development of the information and communication technology, the demand on the efficient compression technology for the multimedia data is increased magnificently. In this Paper, we designed new compression algorithm structure using wavelet base for the compression of ECG signal and audible signal data. We examined the efficiency of the compression between 2-band structure and wavelet packet structure, and investigated the efficiency and reconstruction error by wavelet base function using Daubechies wavelet coefficient and Coiflet coefficient for each structure. Finally, data were compressed further more using Huffman code, and resultant Compression Rate(CR) and Percent Root Mean Square difference(PRD) were compared with those of existent DCT.

In this paper, we newly propose the binary CA-CDMA(constant amplitude CDMA) system using pre-coding method to solve the high PAPR problem caused by multi-user signal transmission in the CDMA system. 4-user CA-CDMA, the basis of proposed binary CA-CDMA system, makes binary output signal for 4 input users. It produces the output of binary(${\pm}$2) amplitude by using a parity signal resulting from the XOR operation of 4 users data. Another sub-channel or more bandwidth is not necessary because it is transmitted together with user data and can be easily recovered in the receiver. The extension of the number of users can be possible by the simple repetition of the basic binary 4-user CA-CDMA. For example, binary 16-user CA-CDMA is made easily by allocating the four 4-user CA-CDMA systems in parallel and leading the four outputs to the fifth 4-user CA-CDMA system as input, because the output signal of each 4-user CA-CDMA is also binary. By the same extension procedure, binary 64 and 256-user CA-CDMA systems can be made with the constant amplitude. As a result, the code rate of this proposed CA-CDMA system is just 1 and binary CA-CDMA does not change the transmission rate with the constant output signal(PAPR = 0 ㏈). Therefore, the power efficiency of the HPA can be maximized without the nonlinear distortion. From the simulation results, it is verified that the conventional CDMA system has multi-level output signal, but the proposed binary CA-CDMA system always produces binary output. And it is also found that the BER of conventional CDMA system is increased by nonlinear HPA, but the BER of proposed binary CA-CDMA system is not changed.

This paper presents encrypted secret code recording system which can insert an unique manufacture ID code after complete disc process. First, we detect a memory block synchronizing signal which is SYNC. by using FPGA, then, design a recording pattern to write Multi Pulse. Finally, a method that any data is recorded in any place in any data area of optical disc by using a FPGA was proposed. Newly proposed method in this paper that any user records user data in protected data areas on digital video optical discs, can be very useful for effective software copy protection, and can be applicable to encrypted record on high density DVD in near future.

This paper analyzes the output signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) for a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) system with minium mean square error receivers in multi-cell environments. A previous work in single cell environments is extended into analysis in multi-cell environments. The use of Haar unitary code matrix for asymptotic analysis causes other cell interferences expressed with a diagonal matrix haying different diagonal values. This paper shows that other cell interferences converge to an identity matrix whose gain is expressed by only other cell interference power in mean square sense and finds asymptotic deterministic SINRs for a given other cell interference. Under the assumption that the sum of lognormal fading components is distributed by other lognormal function, we show the comparison between theoretical performances and simulations from the view point of bit error rate and present average throughput performance according to the cell radius.

Polyphase filtering techniques is used to suppress the narrowband jammer signal such as USDC TDMA overlaying the band occupied by DS-CDMA system. In the proposed jammer suppression, the received signal is separated into 64 subchannels in two stages by polyphase filtering and the location of the narrowband jammer signal is determined by measuring each subchannel power and the contaminated subchannels are simply blocked. The $E_{b}/N_{0}$ 0/ improvement of the CDMA system from jammer suppession was outstanding. The $E_{b}/N_{0}$ degradation in comparison with a performance of no jammer is around 0.8dB in the worst case. The results are also compared with those of linear prediction jammer suppression. The implementation of the ployphase jammer suppression requires great amount of data processing and computation compared to linear predication filter. Thus it is more appropriate to implement with a ASIC rather than WITH several DSPs for user terminals of forward link.

In this paper, the biomedical signal compression method, which is combined with the multi-stage vector quantization and wavelet lifting scheme, is proposed. It utilizes the property of wavelet coefficients that give emphasis on approximation coefficients. The transmitted codebook index consists of the code vectors obtained by wavelet lifting coefficients of ECG and error signals from the 1024 block length, respectively. Each codebook is adaptively updated by the method comparing to the distance of input codevectors with candidate codevectors by using an pre-defined threshold value. The proposed compression method showed blow 3% in term of PRD and 276.62 bits/sec in term of CDR.
In this paper, we have analyzed the MC-DS/CDMA system with input signal synchronized completely through adjustment of the gain in the PLL loop, by using the hybrid SC/MRC-(2/3) technique, which is said to one of the optimal diversity techniques under the multi-path fading environment, assuming that phase error is defined to the phase difference between the received signal from the multi-path and the reference signal in the PLL of the receiver. Also, assuming that the regarded radio channel model for the mobile communication is subject to the Nakagami-m fading channel, we have developed the expressions and performed the simulation under the consideration of various factor, in the MC/DS-CDMA system with the hybrid SC.MRC-(2/3) diversity method, such as the Nakagami fading index(m), $the\;number\;of\;paths\;(L_p),$ the number of hybrid SC.MRC-(2/3) $diversity\;branches\;(L,\;L_c),$ the number of users (K), the number of subcarriers (U), and the gain in the PLL loop. As a result of the simulation, it has been confirmed that the performance improvement of the system can be achieved by adjusting properly the PLL loop in order for the MC/DS-CDMA system with the hybrid SC/MRC-(2/3) diversity method to receive a fully synchronized signal. And the value of the gain in the PLL loop should exceed 7dB in order for the system to receive the signal with prefect synchronization, even though there might be a slight difference according to the values of the fading index and the spread processing gain of the subcarrier.

In this paper, the bit error rare (BER) performance of DS/CDMA DQPSK communication system in the presence of multi access interference, impulsive noise and Nakagami fading is investigated. The DS/CDMA DQPSK communication system adopts Maximum Ratio Combining (MRC) diversity reception and error correcting BCH code technique to enhance system performance. Using the derived error probability equation, the error rate performance of DS/CDMA DQPSK communication system has been evaluated and shown in figures to discuss as a function of impulsive index(A), Gaussian noise to impulsive noise power ratio($\Gamma$'), multi access interference(Κ), Nakagami fading parameter(m), the number of diversity branch (L), the number of error correction symbol (t), PN code sequence length(N) and $E_b/N_0$. The error performance of DS/CDMA-MDPSK signals improve by adopting MRC diversity and BCH(15,7) coding technique in the environment of impulsive noise plus Nagakami fading. From the results, we known that proposed system is affected by multi access interference, impulsive noise and Nakagami fading in radio communication system environment. Also, BER performance of DS/CDMA DQPSK communication system cam be improved increasing either the power of desired signal or the value of Gaussian noise to impulsive noise power ratio. And BCH(15,7) code technique is more effective to restrain the affection of multi access, interference, impulsive noise and Nakagami fading in DS/CDMA DQPSK communication system than MRC diversity reception technique.
