보육교사의 소진에 대한 인간관계와 업무보상 및 업무과중의 영향 (The Influence of Human Relationships, Compensation and Heavy Work on the Burnout of Childcare Teachers)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of human relationships, compensation, and heavy work on the burnout of childcare teachers. The subjects were 290 childcare teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do province. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan test, Pearson's correlation, and the multi regression analysis. The main findings of this study were as follows. First, there were significant differences in the burnout according to individual characteristics such as types of childcare center, daily working hours, and monthly incomes. Second, human relationships, compensation, and heavy work directly influenced the burnout of childcare teachers. A heavy workload was the most important variable in burnout of childcare teachers. Next, the relationship with directors, relationship with parents, compensation, and relationship with co-workers had an effect on burnout of childcare teachers. The results of this study provide basic data to reduce burnout of childcare teachers.

공공도서관의 어린이자료실에 있어서 서비스프로그램으로 본 평면유형에 관한 연구 (A Study on Plan Types of Service Program in Children's Department of Public Library)

  • Lately, in public libraries, there are various service programs for child user by corresponding to importance of reading based education and also a variety of changes by accommodating family based cultural life style. Therefore there is a need for space planning based study on unit-data room. This study gives guide-line of space planning through categorizing of space plot and furniture lay-out in child data room. The researcher, as a first step, searched web sites of 29 data rooms of 26 libraries and summarized space plots and features of data rooms through in-person visits. Then the author made a categorization standard and did a general analysis of featured data rooms through multiple categorization steps. There are Basic Type, General Type, Book-Shelf Centered Type, Book-shelf Scattered type and Multi-Functional Type out of this categorization steps. In sum, six categorizing bases, dividing infant room from child room, space zonning, position of entrance, compactness of reading space, position of book-shelf and orientation of book-shelf will be important design standards for child data-room of future libraries and an effective guide-lines for other unit data-rooms.

Strengthening Families: The Re-structuring of Family Services in Hong Kong

  • The problems and needs of families in Hong Kong are becoming more complex. Traditional family structures and functions are rapidly eroding. Moreover, family problems are further exacerbated by a growing number of socio-economic issues including rising divorce rates and extra-marital affairs. continuous family reunion migration from Mainland China, emotional and financial cost of caring for the older people and the changing economy which has pushed more families into hardship. In effect, more and more families are becoming vulnerable to risk. Traditional family services in Hong Kong are varied in mode, operation and provision, often overlapping in service boundaries with other family-oriented programs. In many instances, family service centers are stretched far beyond their capacity. As a consequence, they become too reactive, remedial and casework dominated. The University of Hong Kong Consultant Team recommended that family service programs have to protect vulnerable families and strengthen family capacities to promote maximum independence. The direction of family services is summarized as: strengthening families; child-centered, family-focused and community-based. New integrative family service centers aim at attaining the principles of promoting accessibility to users with minimum physical, psychological and administrative barriers; early identification of needs and intervention before the further deterioration of problems; integration of services cutting across program boundaries, and partnership between service providers to achieve efficient and effective use of scarce resources. Under the new model, multi-skilled teams can respond more proactively to a wide range of social needs, rather than addressing needs in isolation. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the new model, the consultant team has been commissioned by the government to evaluate the performance of these two-year pilot projects. More importantly, a coherent and family-friendly social policy should be formulated to strengthen family capacity against family-related problems.

여성결혼이민자가 경험하는 다문화가족 적응에 관한 연구 -T시를 중심으로- (A Study on the interracially Married Female Immigrant's Adaptation of Multi-cultural Families : Qualitative Methods)

  • 본 연구는 한국에 여성결혼이민자가 경험하는 다문화가족 적응 형태를 그들의 입장에서 바라봄으로써 보다 질적이고 개별적인 간호중재 전략을 개발하는 기틀을 제공하고자 하는데 있다. 연구문제는 "여성결혼이민자의 자녀양육은 어떻게 이루어지고 있는가?"이다. 연구참여자는 여성결혼이민자 총 13명이다. 연구방법은 관찰과 심층면접, 상담, 그리고 주변 인물들을 통한 비공식적인 대화를 통해 자료를 수집하여 Spradley(1990)의 문화기술지 방법론을 적용한 질적 연구로 서술하였다. 결론적으로는 여성결혼이민자에서의 양육경험을 통해 다문화가정 어머니에게는 '의사소통의 장애', '열약한 양육환경', '이질적인 문화', '양육책임의 떠맡음', '고국가족에 대한 그리움', '미래에 대한 걱정'으로 나타났다. 다문화가정 가족에게는 '수치감', '양육의 무관심'으로 나타났다. 자녀에게는 '외톨이', '언어발달의 장애', '학습능력의 부족', '영양불량', '문제행동'이 나타났다. 다문화가정 어머니와 가족의 공통적인 요소에는 '다문화 이해부족', '의사소통 단절', '종속관계', '신뢰감부족'으로 나타났다. 다문화가정 어머니와 자녀의 공통적인 요소에는 '외모의 차이', '가족 사회적 차별'로 나타났다. 가족과 자녀의 공통적인 요소에는 '양육 참여 부족', '놀아주지 않음'으로 나타났다. 다문화가정 어머니와 가족, 그리고 자녀에 나타나는 공통적인 요소는 '사회적 편견', '불안정한 가족분위기', '저소득', '한국인으로 뿌리내리기'로 나타났다.

저소득가정 청소년의 학교적응과 생태학적 영향요인: 지역아동센터 이용 청소년을 중심으로 (Ecological Factors Affecting School Adjustment of Low-Income Adolescents Attending Community Child Care Center)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the ecological factors influencing school adjustment of adolescents from low-income families. Methods: Secondary data analysis was performed using data of 1,321 low-income adolescents in 123 regions found on the Survey on Service Satisfaction with Community Child Care Center. Results: The results of multi-level analysis identified the factors influencing school adjustment of low-income adolescents as follows: individual-level factors were gender, grade in school, and emotional problem; an interpersonal-level factor was family structure; organizational-level factors were length of time attending center and satisfaction with the service of the center; community-level factors were region and perception of community. Conclusion: The results suggest that low-income adolescents' adjustment to school is influenced not only by individual factors but also by diverse environmental factors. Community factors suggest that more education support systems and leisure facilities for adolescents need to be built in small and medium cities. Strategies to enhance positive perception of community are also needed for this population. Further, it is necessary to develop multi-level interventions to improve the school adjustment of adolescents from vulnerable social groups.

한국판 아동용 다면적 생활만족도 척도(K-MSLSS)의 타당화 연구 (Validation of Korean Version of Multidimensional Students' Life Satisfaction Scale)

  • The Korean version of the Multidimensional Students' Life Satisfaction Scale for children(K-MSLSS) assesses children's subjective perceptions of Life Satisfaction(LS) in five conceptually relevant domains : Friends, School, Family, Living Environment, and Self. The purpose of the present study was to validate the five-factor structure of the K-MSLSS using Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA) procedures by means of the AMOS 7.0 statistical program. Of the 681 children(10.5 years, SD=1.1) recruited from three public elementary schools in Seoul 431 children were the calibration sample and 430 children were the validation sample. Results of the analyses found that the five-factor structure of K-MSLSS is applicable for use with Korean children from 9-12 years of age regardless of gender.

아동이 지각한 사회적 지지와 사회적 능력 (Preschool Children's Social Competency and Perceived Social Support)

  • This study investigated the relationship between preschool children's social competence and perceived social support. The subjects were 85 children enrolled in 10 kindergartens and nurseries located in Seoul. Social support was assessed by children themselves with a social support dialogue Cask, "My Family and Friends," developed by Reid, Lamdegman, and Jaccard (1989). This task consists of 12 dialogues based on Vygotskian principles. Social competency was assessed by teachers with a slightly modified version of Song's Iowa Social Competency Scale (ISCS). The data were analyzed by frequencies percentiles, mean, one-way ANOVAs, and Pearson's correlations. Results showed that (1) Children perceived parents to be the best multi-purpose social providers: mothers for emotional support and fathers for instrumental support. (2) Children with unemployed mothers perceived higher maternal emotional, informational, and instrumental support than children with employed mothers. (3) Middle-class children perceived higher friendship support than upper-or lower-class children. (4) Friendship support was the one variable most significantly related to children's social competence.

장애아 전문 어린이집 피난인식 및 건축현황 분석 연구 (A Study on the Recognitions on Evacuation and Architectural Design Characteristics of Child Care Center with Disabilities)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 재난약자인 장애아 전문 어린이집의 건축계획 및 피난관리의 개선방안을 모색하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 장애아 전문 어린이집을 운영하는 원장 및 관리자를 대상으로 설문조사를 통해 피난인식을 조사하고, 어린이집 현장조사를 통해 보육 및 피난 환경을 분석하였다. 이상의 연구결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 65.3%의 보육시설 원장이 "자력으로 피난이 가능한 장애아동이 30% 미만"으로 응답하고, 중증복합장애 아동이 50% 이상인 시설이 73.2%를 차지하고 있어, 현실적으로 장애아동은 보육교사의 도움없이 안전한 피난은 어려울 것으로 판단된다. 둘째, 수직피난 또는 길찾기의 어려움이 있는 중증장애 아동이 2층 이상에 재실하는 장애아 전문 어린이집은, 각 층에 소방차 도착 후 구난시까지 대기할 수 있는 방화구획된 피난안전구역 설치의 필요성이 있다. 셋째, 서울시의 장애아 전문 어린이집은 대부분은 복지관 1층에 입지하고 있어 피난의 수월성은 보장되지만, 주택이나 공동주택 등을 리모델링하여 운영하는 어린이집은 시설환경이 노후화하고 열악하여 안전 및 피난을 위해 편의 및 피난시설의 개선이 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

청소년의 다문화 인식과 다문화효능감 (Perceptions and Efficacy of the Multiculture Among Adolescents)

  • This study performed to develop a basic framework of adolescent's perceptions about multicultural families, the children of multicultural families, the impacts of cultural exchange on cultural diversity, and multicultural efficacy. The participants were 368 students from four high schools in the Seoul area. The data were analysyed by ANOVA, Duncan-test, and multiple regression. The results revealed significant differences; perceptions of the multicultural family was the highest among those who believed the perceptions would increase, while the lowest among those believing to decrease. Perceptions of multicultural efficacy showed significant differences in thought about education for understanding other country people, the multi media experiences of multicultural families, knowledge about the multiculture, and thought about an increasing number of multicultural families. There were significant correlations among perceptions about the multicultural family, the children in the multicultural family, the impacts of cultural exchange on cultural diversity, and efficacy of the multicultural environment.

결혼이주여성과 한국여성의 양육 스트레스 비교 (Comparison of Parenting Stress between Married Migrants and Korean Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare parenting stress between married migrant women and Korean women. Methods: Subjects were 68 married migrant women and 70 Korean women raising children aged seven years or younger, living in three different cities in Gangwon Do. To measure parenting stress, we used Kim's (1997) questionnaire that had been modified from Richard & Abidin's (1990) Parenting Stress Index (PSI). Results: There were significant differences between the two groups in age, academic credentials, job, monthly income, and achievement of maternal role. No statistically significant differences were found for parenting stress scores (p<.355), but there was a significant difference in the child characteristics of parenting stress (p<.007) between the two groups. There were no differences in the demographic variables influencing parenting stress between the two groups. Conclusion: The development of multi-cultural parenting and family support programs should consider the nationality and marital satisfaction of the family.
