  • 모바일 영상 기기들에 사용되는 저전력, 고화질의 이미지 센서는 Rolling Shutter 방식을 사용하는 CIS(CMOS Image Sensor)이다. 구조적 특성에 의해 Rolling Shutter 방식을 사용하는 CIS는 촬영 환경에 의해 결과물에 왜곡을 일으키게 된다. 본 논문은 Rolling Shutter에 의한 왜곡을 분석하고 촬영된 영상의 Rolling Shutter 왜곡 모션벡터를 예측하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 또한 제안 알고리즘의 정확성을 높이기 위해 Sub-block과 Kalman-filter를 적용하여 Sub-pixel 단위로 계산하여 기존의 Lucas-Kanade 알고리즘 보다 효율적인 모션벡터 예측 알고리즘을 제안한다. 또한 보다 정확한 성능 변화를 추적하기 위하여 MSE 방식을 사용하여 비교 분석 하였다.

  • In a motion estimation method for use in encoding a moving picture, a full-pixel motion vector is estimated by stochastically sampling a pixel to be processed in a predetermined-sized block of a previous frame or a next frame as a reference frame for each of a plurality of equal-sized blocks in a current frame. Then, a half-pixel motion vector is estimated based on the full-pixel motion vector. Accordingly, both the calculation amount and the calculation time required for the motion estimation are effectively reduced. Further, it can be prevented that the hardware becomes complicated. .

Dual Cache Architecture for Low Cost and High Performance

  • We present a high performance cache structure with a hardware prefetching mechanism that enhances exploitation of spatial and temporal locality. Temporal locality is exploited by selectively moving small blocks into the direct-mapped cache after monitoring their activity in the spatial buffer. Spatial locality is enhanced by intelligently prefetching a neighboring block when a spatial buffer hit occurs. We show that the prefetch operation is highly accurate: over 90% of all prefetches generated are for blocks that are subsequently accessed. Our results show that the system enables the cache size to be reduced by a factor of four to eight relative to a conventional direct-mapped cache while maintaining similar performance.

  • To reduce lateral force of traditional plunger type piston in the swash plate type hydraulic piston pumps and motors, we have proposed rod type piston with ball joint on both ends. We have studied the theoretical reaction force on two types of piston moving in the cylinder block bore. and made an experiment for the resistance force measurement on a reciprocating motion of plunger and rod type piston, changing the test condition such as swash plate angel and supply oil pressure and so on. As a result. a rod type piston has more smaller resistance force, about 29%. than a plunger type one.

  • During contact between surfaces, there is wear and the generation of wear. The particles contained in the lubricating oil carry detailed and important monitoring information about the condition of the machine. Therefore, this paper was undertaken for the Ferrography system of wear debris generated from a lubricated moving machine surface. The lubricating wear test was performed under different experimental conditions using the Falex wear test of the Pin and V-Block types by Ti(C,N) coated. It was shown from the test results that wear particle concentration(WPC), wear severity index(Is) and size distribution have come out all higher with increases in sliding friction time. With the Ferrogram thin leaf wear debris as well as ball and plate type wear particles were observed.

  • In this paper, a segmentation-based coding technique as applied to video sequences is proposed. A proposed method separates an image into contour and texture parts, then the visually-sensitive contour part is represented by chain codes and the visually-insensitive texture part is reconstructed by a representative motion vector of a region and mean of the segmented frame difference. It uses a change detector to find moving areas and adopts variable blocks to represent different motions correctly. For better quality of reconstructed images, the displaced frame difference between the original image and the motion compensated image reconstructed by the representative motion vector is segmented. Computer simulation with several video sequences shows that the proposed method gives better performance than the conventional ones in terms of the peak signal to noise ratio(PSNR) and compression ration.

  • LRT(Light Rail Transit) is currently adopting a more upgraded signal system these days. This latest signal system is a train on-board signal system with moving block based on the realtime bi-directional wireless communications. The system applies RF-CBTC(Radio Frequency - Communication Based Train Control System) in order th execute fully automated manless operation. This paper reviews the performance requirements and safety of RF-CBTC that will be applied to the fully automated manless operation for LRT.

  • Communication based train control system is applied regularly worldwide. And this system may be used in domestic soon. Communication based train control system does not depend on conventional track circuit. Therefore, position and distance control of train to prevent collision with leading train may become important safety factor. This paper developed collision avoidance algorithm to control trains of several units efficiently for this. In developing a collision avoidance algorithm, it is desirable to avoid the need for additional system. Additional system restricts the development of the algorithm by limiting the effectiveness of the algorithm to only those areas where the additional system can be afforded and has been installed.

  • ${\overline{X}}$ control chart has proven to be an effective tool to improve the product quality. Shewhart charts assume that the observations are independent and normally distributed. Under the presence of positive autocorrelation and severe skewness, the control limits are not accurate because assumptions are violated- Autocorrelation in process measurements results in frequent false alarms when standard control chats are applied in process monitoring. In this paper, Threshold Bootstrap and Moving Block Bootstrap are used for constructing a confidence interval of correlated observations. Monte Carlo simulation studies are conducted to compare the performance of the bootstrap methods and that of standard method for constructing control charts under several conditions.

  • The substructure of temporary bridges used during the construction period of main bridges needs to be simple and strong at the same time so that it doesn't block running water. When the water flow is hindered by sub-structure of the bridges, as it happens when H beams with bracing are used, either the water floods or the bridge gets damaged. Therefore, using round beams for the substructure and connect them together is a preventive choice considering the intensive raining in the summer. The bridges using round beams for the substructure have also benefited by fast construction because of fewer bracing and in-situ welding. Because the round-pile-connecting method is relatively new, the safety evaluation of the constructed bridge is an essential procedure before being used in the field. The field evaluation of a bridge including the vehicle loading test and moving load analysis has been conducted and the results showed the safety requirement is satisfied.
