CBTC 시스템에서 논리 폐색과 이동 폐색의 혼용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Mixed Usage of Logical Block and Moving Block in CBTC System)

  • This paper proposes a CBTC wayside signaling system, which redeems existing track-circuit-based ones by using movement authorities mixed with logical block and moving block. Only one train can be entered into the logical block or the route for existing wayside signaling system. Applying moving block for CBTC system enables the train to get nearer to the preceding one, because its protection mechanism uses train's safe boundary, not fixed block unit. By narrowing the existing route set to switch machine and applying the moving block beyond that area, more than one train can enter into one route area. This paper shows that the efficient train control, i.e. shortening the headway, is possible using the moving block mixed with logical block in wayside signaling system.

  • In this paper, we present a novel motion-compensated interpolation technique for non-moving caption region to prevent the block artifacts due to the failure of conventional block-based motion estimation algorithm on the block is consist of non-moving caption and moving object. Experimental results indicate good performance of the proposed scheme with significantly reduced block artifacts on image sequence that include non-moving caption. Also the proposed method is simple and adequate for hardware implementation.

  • This paper proposes a simulation method of train control system to increase railroad transportation capacity in the Seoul Subway. Comparing with the conventional fixed block system, a new train operation method of "moving block system" shows a more capability of same railroad. A graphic simulation program is developed for application of moving block system to Seoul subway train control system. The result of the simulation program shows a shorten headway i.e. a more dense operation of trains and a higher efficiency of railroad with the suggested moving block system.

  • This paper proposes a new approach to extract contour of moving object from compressed video stream. We segment the area of moving object by using motion vector and extract the motion object block from it. And then we describe the connectivity direction of outline moving block, detect the edge related to connectivity direction in the block and finally obtain the contour by connecting the edges. This can divide the moving object only with motion vector and detect the exact contour on the basis of the edge automatically. Also, we can reduce spending time using motion block and remove the noise with directional edge. The experimental results demonstrate the accurate and effective qualify of the proposed method.

  • In part I, we studied only step speed control for train, the second part extended to beacon signaling system and moving block system. With the calculated braking distance in part I, part II showed how to reduce headway using the beacon signaling system and moving block system, revealed that the beacon system has a braking distance advantage for sighting allowance with compared to step speed control, proposed beacon installation interval and revealed the braking distance with moving block system being nearly approached to train pure braking distance. We compared three different train control system to decide the best signaling system for a given condition and obtained the result that three systems have a same headway near 10~13 steps speed control.

Efficient Tracking of a Moving Object Using Representative Blocks Algorithm

  • In this paper, efficient tracking of a moving object using optimal representative blocks is implemented by a mobile robot with a pan-tilt camera. The key idea comes from the fact that when the image size of moving object is shrunk in an image frame according to the distance between the camera of mobile robot and the moving object, the tracking performance of a moving object can be improved by changing the size of representative blocks according to the object image size. Motion estimation using Edge Detection(ED) and Block-Matching Algorithm(BMA) is often used in the case of moving object tracking by vision sensors. However these methods often miss the real-time vision data since these schemes suffer from the heavy computational load. In this paper, the optimal representative block that can reduce a lot of data to be computed, is defined and optimized by changing the size of representative block according to the size of object in the image frame to improve the tracking performance. The proposed algorithm is verified experimentally by using a two degree-of-freedom active camera mounted on a mobile robot.

도시철도에 있어 이동폐색방식과 고정폐색방식의 상호비교 연구 (A Comparative Study of the Flexible Moving Block System and the Fixed Block System in Urban Railway)

  • 본 연구는 지하철의 표정속도 향상을 통해 승객의 총통행시간을 절감시키고자 수행하였다. 본 연구가 갖는 기존연구와 차별성은 열차의 신호시스템측면을 고려하여 승객의 통행시간변화를 분석했기 때문에 기존의 운영계획측면에서 임의로 운전시격을 변화시켜 분석한 열차의 승객통행시간 절감효과보다 신뢰성과 현실성을 높일 수 있다. 본 연구의 주요내용은 열차운행의 신호시스템측면에서 기존의 고정폐색방식보다 우수한 이동폐색방식을 적용하여 사례노선의 최소운전시격을 산정(시뮬레이션)한 후, 이를 단독 또는 Skip-stop방식과 혼용하여 승객통행시간 절감효과를 분석 제시하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과, 이동폐색방식은 고정폐색방식보다 총통행시간과 표정속도에서 각각 24.4%, 32.3% 향상 효과가 나타났으며, 이를 Skip-stop방식 중 격역정차방식과 혼용하여 적용할 경우, 총통행시간은38.1~52.5%, 표정속도는 최대 58.1%까지 향상되는 시너지 효과가 나타났다.

  • In this paper, we present a real-time method to detect moving objects in a rotating and zooming camera. It is useful for camera surveillance of fixed but rotating camera, camera on moving car, and so on. We first compensate the global motion, and then exploit the displaced frame difference (DFD) to find the block-wise boundary. For robust detection, we propose a kind of image to combine the detections from consecutive frames. We use the block-wise detection to achieve the real-time speed, except the pixel-wise DFD. In addition, a fast block-matching algorithm is proposed to obtain local motions and then global affine motion. In the experimental results, we demonstrate that our proposed algorithm can handle the real-time detection of common object, small object, multiple objects, the objects in low-contrast environment, and the object in zooming camera.

  • In order to scheme the optimal assumption that satisfies the travel demand, it should be review the elements that affect on determining the headway, which are signal systems, line shape, vehicle(Light Rail Transit) performance, and so on. When applying the conventional signal systems, including Fixed Block System and Moving Block System, It was confirmed whether or not satisfy the requirements of target line with the way of a numerical formula reviewing and Train performance Simulation on the main line, station, depot, and so forth. Therefore, it should be used as references that decide target line and each sub-system after identifying the compliances for Minimum Headway to Moving Block System.
