In this paper, we provide a development and evaluation method for an archery posture analyzing system, using an inertial sensor. The system was developed using LabVIEW2014 by National Instruments and evaluated using the DTW algorithm. To convert the voltage value of the inertial sensor into a physical value, a coordinate transformation matrix bias was applied. To evaluate the similarity of movement in archery shooting, the DTW distance was calculated and similarity was confirmed based on simple mechanical movement, the same person's shooting movement, shooting movement with another person, and the noise signal. The average similarity comparison results were as follows: simple mechanical movement was 17.05%, the same person's shooting movement was 26.48%, shooting movement with another person was 62.8%, and the noise signal was 328.5%; a smaller value indicates a higher level of similarity. We confirmed the possibility of analyzing the archery posture using 3-axis acceleration of the inertial sensor. We inferred that the proposed method might be important means for assessing shooting skills, evaluation of archer's progress, and finding talented archers in advance.
This paper describes the development and assessment of conductive fabric sensor for evaluating knee movement using bio-impedance measurement method. The proposed strip-typed conductive fabric sensor is compared with a dot-typed Ag/AgCl electrode for evaluating validity under knee movement condition. Subjects are composed of ten males($26.6{\pm}2.591$) who have not had problems on their knee. The strip-typed conductive fabric sensor is analyzed by correlation and reliability between a dot-typed Ag/AgCl electrode and the strip-typed conductive fabric sensor. The difference of bio-impedance between a dot-typed Ag/AgCl electrode and the strip-typed conductive fabric sensor averages $7.067{\pm}13.987\;{\Omega}$ As the p-value is under 0.0001 in 99% of t-distribution, the strip-typed conductive fabric sensor is correlated with a dot-typed Ag/AgCl electrode by SPSS software. The strip-typed conductive fabric sensor has reliability when it is compared with a dot-typed Ag/AgCl electrode because most of bio-impedance values are in ${\pm}1.96$ standard deviation by Bland-Altman Analysis. As a result, the strip-typed conductive fabric sensor can be used for assessing knee movement through bio-impedance measurement method as a dot-typed Ag/AgCl electrode. Futhermore, the strip-typed conductive fabric sensor is available for wearable circumstances, applications and industries in the near future.

In this paper, a long gauge Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor system is described and long gauge FBGs are well, suited for measuring the upper parts of the bridge piers under the extremely severe movement conditions. In the experiments, we used more than 30m long FBG sensors to measure the movement of top part of the bridge piers which are separated from the main bridge by cutting the decks. With the actuator, the deck and girders were pushed and released. We checked the movement of the top of the pier while releasing the pressure of the actuator with the long gauge fiber sensor. In order to measure the movement of the upper part of the pier, the reference point must be outside of the pier. Using the optical fiber sensors, one end of the sensor is attached to the top of the pier and the other end is attached to the bottom of the next pier. The fiber sensors showed good response to the release loading and we could calculate the movement of the top part of the pear.
In this experiment, we proposed and implemented a disease forecasting system using a received signal strength indication ZigBee-based wireless network with a 3-axis acceleration sensor to detect illness at an early stage by monitoring movement of experimentally infected weaned piglets. Twenty seven piglets were divided into control, Salmonella enteritidis (SE) infection, and Escherichia coli (EC) infection group, and their movements were monitored for five days using wireless sensor nodes on their backs. Data generated showed the 3-axis movement of piglets (X-axis: left and right direction, Y-axis: anteroposterior direction, and Z-axis: up and down direction) at five different time periods. Piglets in both infected groups had lower weight gain and feed intake, as well as higher feed conversion ratios than the control group (p<0.05). Infection with SE and EC resulted in reduced body temperature of the piglets at day 2, 4, and 5 (p<0.05). The early morning X-axis movement did not differ between groups; however, the Y-axis movement was higher in the EC group (day 1 and 2), and the Z-axis movement was higher in the EC (day 1) and SE group (day 4) during different experimental periods (p<0.05). The morning X and Y-axis movement did not differ between treatment groups. However, the Z-axis movement was higher in both infected groups at day 1 and lower at day 4 compared to the control (p<0.05). The midday X-axis movement was significantly lower in both infected groups (day 4 and 5) compared to the control (p<0.05), whereas the Y-axis movement did not differ. The Z-axis movement was highest in the SE group at day 1 and 2 and lower at day 4 and 5 (p<0.05). Evening X-axis movement was highest in the control group throughout the experimental period. During day 1 and 2, the Z-axis movement was higher in both of the infected groups; whereas it was lower in the SE group during day 3 and 4 (p<0.05). During day 1 and 2, the night X-axis movement was lower and the Z-axis movement was higher in the infected piglets (p<0.05). Overall, the movement of infected piglets was altered, and the acceleration sensor could be successfully employed for monitoring pig activity.
This paper describes performance improvement of GPS/DR Integration system using area decision algorithm and vehicle movement information. In GPS signal blockage area, i.e., tunnel and underground parking area, DR sensor errors are accumulated and navigation solution is gradually diverged. We use the car movement information according to moving area to correct the DR sensor error. Also, vehicle movement is decided as stop, straight line, turn and movement changing region through DR sensor data analysis. The car experiment is performed to verify the supposed method. The results show that supposed method provides small position and heading error than previous method.
In this paper, low cost inertial sensor and compass were used instead of encoder for localization of mobile robot. Movements by encoder, movements by inertial sensor and movements by complementary filter with inertial sensor and compass were analyzed. Movement by complementary filter was worse than by only inertial sensor because of imperfection of compass. For the complementary filter to show best movements, compass need to be compensated for position error.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to develop a stretchable joint motion sensor that is based on silver nano-particle. Through this sensor, it can be utilized as an equipment for rehabilitation and analyze joint movement. Method: In this study, precursor solution was created, after that, nozel printer (Musashi, Image master 350PC) was used to print on a circuit board. Sourcemeter (Keithley, Keithley-2450) was used in order to evaluate changes of electric resistance as the sensor stretches. In addition, the sensor was attached on center of a knee joint to 2 male adults, and performed knee flexion-extension in order to evaluate accurate analysis; 3 infrared cameras (100 Hz, Motion Master 100, Visol Inc., Korea) were also used to analyze three dimensional movement. Descriptive statistics were suggested for comparing each accuracy of measurement variables of joint motions with the sensor and 3D motions. Results: The change of electric resistance of the sensor indicated multiple of 30 times from initial value in 50% of elongation and the value of electric resistance were distinctively classified by following 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% of elongation respectively. Through using the sensor and 3D camera to analyze movement variable, it showed a resistance of 99% in a knee joint extension, whereas, it indicated about 80% in flexion phase. Conclusion: In this research, the stretchable joint motion sensor was created based on silver nanoparticle that has high conductivity. If the sensor stretches, the distance between nanoparticles recede which lead gradual disconnection of an electric circuit and to have increment of electric resistance. Through evaluating angle of knee joints with observation of sensor's electric resistance, it showed similar a result and propensity from 3D motion analysis. However, unstable electric resistance of the stretchable sensor was observed when it stretches to maximum length, or went through numerous joint movements. Therefore, the sensor need complement that requires stability when it comes to measuring motions in any condition.

This paper proposes a human movement detection system by a thermopile array sensor. In the system, the sensor is attached to the ceiling and it acquires spatial temperatures, which is called thermal distribution. The system obtains $4{\times}4$ pixels thermal distributions from the sensor. The distributions are analyzed to extract human movement. As the experimental result, the proposed system successfully detected human movements.

In this study, a wireless crack sensor is developed for monitoring cracks propagating in two dimensions. This sensor is developed by incorporating a laser-based optical navigation sensor board (ADNS-9500) into a smart wireless platform (Imote2). To measure crack propagation, the Imote2 sends a signal to the ADNS-9500 to collect a sequence of images reflected from the concrete surface. These acquired images can be processed in the ADNS-9500 directly (the navigation mode) or sent to Imote2 for processing (the frame capture mode). The computed crack displacement can then be transmitted wirelessly to a base station. The design and the construction of this sensor are reported herein followed by some calibration tests on one prototype sensor. Test results show that the sensor can provide sub-millimeter accuracy under sinusoidal and step movement. Also, the two modes of operation offer complementary performance as the navigation mode is more accurate in tracking large amplitude and fast crack movement while the frame capture mode is more accurate for small and slow crack movement. These results illustrate the feasibility of developing such a crack sensor as well as point out directions of further research before its actual implementation.
