  • This study was designed to investigate the effects of TMJ incoordination to condylar movements, especially, the ISS. The sounds are one of the symptoms in TMJ incoordinated disorder, and it may cause the changes of mandibular movement trajectory. 19 students with only TMJ sounds and 16 students with no TMJ problems participated in this study. The subject performed Rt. lateral, Lt. lateral and protrusive movements, and repeated 3 times on each movement. Pantronic was used to record the measures of condylar movement paths. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The mean values of RISS and LISS in control group were 0.29mm, 0.36mm respectively, and those in experimental group were 0.49mm, 0.41mm repectively. The mean values of RISS was higher in experimental group than that of RISS in control group. 2. Correlation coefficients between PRI and RISS, LISS were slightly higher in experimental group than those in control group, therefore, PRI was more likely to be affected by ISS in experimental group. 3. In control group PRI was correlated to RISS, LORB, RPRO and LPRO, but in experimental group PRI was not correlated to those items. From the study, the author knew that the condylar movements was stable in control group.

  • A semi-active suspension is an automotive technology that controls the vertical movement of the vehicle while the car is driving. The system therefore virtually eliminates body roll and pitch variation in many driving situations including cornering, accelerating, and braking. This technology allows car manufacturers to achieve a higher degree of both ride quality and car handling by keeping the tires perpendicular to the road in corners, allowing for much higher levels of grip and control. An onboard computer detects body movement from sensors located throughout the vehicle and, using data calculated by opportune control techniques, controls the action of the suspension. Semi-active systems can change the viscous damping coefficient of the shock absorber, and do not add energy to the suspension system. Though limited in their intervention (for example, the control force can never have different direction than that of the current speed of the suspension), semi-active suspensions are less expensive to design and consume far less energy. In recent time, the research in semi-active suspensions has continued to advance with respect to their capabilities, narrowing the gap between semi-active and fully active suspension systems. In this paper we are studied the characteristics of vehicle movement during the field test with conventional and semi-active suspension system.

  • Purpose: This study identified the effects of physical therapists on the quality of life when applying exercise-based movement techniques to breast cancer survivors. Methods: To conduct meta-analysis, 186 RCT studies were searched in five databases (RISS, Pubmed, CINAHL, Medline, and Cochrane Library), without limitation, for the year of publication, and papers published in April 2018 were selected. Four studies met the inclusion criteria and were selected for meta-analysis based on the risk of bias. The basic demographic data, athletic characteristics, and outcome data were extracted from all included clinical trials. The data were analyzed using the RevMan 5.2 program. Results: As a result of meta-analysis, exercise-based movement techniques applied by the control group (Pilates, yoga, tai chi, and qigong) or physical therapists showed no significant difference in the impact on the quality of life of breast cancer survivors. Conclusion: In this study, exercise-based movement techniques mediated by control groups or physical therapists showed no significant difference in the quality of life of breast cancer survivors, but the types and duration of exercise in each study varied, and the number of subjects was small. Considering randomized studies, more randomized studies will be needed to draw conclusions.

  • Fluctuation of control rod was experienced when plant was operating in normal operation mode in WH type NPPs. In order to cope with increased control rod fluctuation, the lead-lag controller setpoint for rod control system was optimized and resulted in increasing the margin of operation and minimizing unnecessary control rod movement. By optimization of the time constant, the margin of operation was increased by $1.5^{\circ}F$ and the control rod movement was not occurred due to mitigation of temperature fluctuation in loop. According to the mitigation of time constant, the margin of operation was increased but safety margin can be affected badly, so that the influences to FSAR design reference was evaluated. As the result of this evaluation, it satisfied the design reference of the existing safety analysis and was applied to NPP after obtaining the approval.

  • We propose a haptic interface algorithm for joystick operators working in remote control systems of unmanned vehicles. The haptic interface algorithm is implemented using a force-feedback joystick, which is equipped with low price DC motors without encoders. Generating specific amounts of forces on the joystick pole according to the distance between a remote controlled vehicle and obstacles, the haptic interface enables the operator to perceive the distance information by the sense of touch. For the case of no joystick operation or no obstacles in the working area, we propose an origin control algorithm, which positions the joystick pole at the origin. The origin control algorithm prevents the false movement of the remote vehicles and provides the operator with a realistic force resisting the joystick pole's movement. The experiment results obtained under various scenarios exemplify the validity of the proposed haptic interface algorithm and the origin control algorithm.

  • The purpose of this study was, base on the observation that the leg movement has effect on muscles around trunk, to provide clinical fundamental data to develop effective abdominal draw-in technique by investigating the effect of abdominal draw-in exercise accompanying leg movement on the thickness of transversus abdominis muscle and trunk control ability in patients with stroke. The subjects were assigned randomly to experimental group I (n=9) on which the abdominal draw-in technique is applied and experimental group II (n=9) on which the abdominal draw-in technique accompanying leg movement is applied. The thickness of transversus abdominis muscle in the affected side and the trunk control ability were measured before and after treatment using ultrasonography and trunk impairment scale. A session of 30 minutes per day were performed four days a week for four weeks and the measured outcomes were analyzed. The in-group comparison showed significant difference both thickness of transversus abdominis muscle during abdominal draw-in technique application (p<0.01) and trunk control ability (p<0.001) between before and after treatment. The significant difference between two groups were observed only in trunk control ability (p<0.05). It was concluded that the abdominal draw-in technique accompanying leg movement is an intervention that has positive effect not only on transversus abdominis muscle but also on tunk control ability by inducing more efficient contraction reaction in muscles around trunk through autonomic pelvic movement caused by leg movement.

  • The purpose of this study was analyse the mandibular movements in patients with internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint according to diagnostic subgroups. The author classified patients with internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint into 4 diagnostic subgroups by means of the magnet resonance imagings, and evaluated the clinical signs and the mandibular movements with Mandibular Kinesiograph(MKG) in each subgroups. The mandibular movements, measured in this study, were the types of movement in frontal and sagittal plane, velocities in opening and closing movement, and the opening and closing movement, and the opening and closing velocity pattern. The data were compared between the 5 groups including the normal group. The results were as follows : 1. Pain was more frequently observed in the anterior disc displacement without reduction group than in the anterior disc displacement with reduction group. Sound of joint was more frequently observed in the anterior disc displacement with reduction group, and limitation of mandibular opening movement was more frequently observed in the anterior disc displacement without reduction group. Duration of the anterior disc displacement without reduction group was significantly short compared to that of the anterior disc displacement with reduction group, and duration of the unilateral anterior disc displacement without reduction group was shortest in the experimental group. The frequency of Angle's classifications had not significant correlations between the experimental groups. 2. Active and passive range of the opening movement, maximum protrusive movement, maximum lateral movement toward left side were significantly decreased in the experimental groups compared to the control group, but there was no significant difference in the range of the maximum lateral movement toward right side between the control and experiment groups. In unilateral anterior disc displacement without reduction group, the range of maximum lateral movement toward unaffected side was no significant difference in the range of the maximum lateral movement between toward affected side and toward unaffected side. 3. Maximum opening velocity, maximum closing velocity, average opening velocity, average closing velocity and maximum velocity of terminal tooth contact were significantly decreased in the experimental groups compared to control group. There was no significant difference in maximum opening velocity and maximum velocity of Terminal tooth contact between the subgroups of the experimental group each other, but there was significant difference in maximum closing velocity, average opening velocity and average closing velocity between the subgroups each other. 4. In the frontal plane of the MKG, the frequency of complex deviation type(F-2)pattern was significantly increased in the anterior disc displacement with out reduction group compared to the anterior disc displacement with reduction group and the control group. In the sagittal plane, the frequency of coincident type(S-1)was decreased in the same group. 5. In the maximum opening velocity pattern, the frequency of no-peak type (OV-3)in the unilateral anterior disc displacement with reduction group was significantly increased compared to the control group. The frequency of 1-peak type (OV-1) and 2-peak type (OV-2) was decreased in the anterior disc displacement with out reduction group, but the frequency of no-peak type (OV-3)was increased in the same group. In the maximum closing velocity pattern, the frequency of no-peak type (CV-3) was significantly increased in the anterior disc displacement without reduction group. Compared to the anterior disc displacement with reduction group and the control group. The frequency of 1-peak type (CV-1) and 2-peak type (CV-2) in the anterior disc displacement with reduction group was decreased than that in the control group.

  • The aim of this study was to determine the effects of movement control exercise of hip joint using visual EMG biofeedback on hip joint muscles in healthy adults. This study was nonequivalent one group Pre-post test design. Twenty-one healthy adults were participated in the study. all subjects conducted movemnet control exercise(MCE) using electromyography(EMG) biofeedback of hip joint durng 20 min. The outcome measures included surface eletromyography. Surface electromyography data were collected from the Gluteus medius (Gmed), Gluteus maximus (Gmax),and Tensor fasciae latae(TFL), rectus femoris(RF) during small knee bending (SKB) test. There was a significant difference in Gluteus maximus muscle activity between the pre-test and the post-test (p < 0.05). The findings suggest that Movement control exercise using EMG biofeedback for limiting hip internal rotation is effective in activating the hip external rotator muscles. in addition, this study showed that rehabilitation exercise combined with ICT convergence technology could be an effective intervention in clinical practice.

  • In this paper, we present machine learning to control drone flight using EEG signals. We defined takeoff, forward, backward, left movement and right movement as control targets and measured EEG signals from the frontal lobe for controlling using Fp1. Fp2 Fp2 two-channel dry electrode (NeuroNicle FX2) measuring at 250Hz sampling rate. And the collected data were filtered at 6~20Hz cutoff frequency. We measured the motion image of the action associated with each control target open for 5.19 seconds. Using Matlab's classification learner for the measured EEG signal, the triple layer neural network, logistic regression kernel, nonlinear polynomial Support Vector Machine(SVM) learning was performed, logistic regression kernel was confirmed as the highest accuracy for takeoff and forward, backward, left movement and right movement of the drone in learning by class True Positive Rate(TPR).
