Vector Control of an Induction Motors for the Field Weakening Region With the Tuning of the Magnetizing Inductance (자화인덕턴스 추정을 이용한 약계자 영역에서의 유도전동기 벡터제어)

  • In case of field weakening region, the dynamic behavior of the speed controller depends on the rotor flux level. In this region, the flux is decreased inversely proportional to the rotor speed. As the rotor flux is decreased, as the magnetizing inductance is increased. In this paper, the effect of this increased magnetizing inductance to the performance of vector control is illustrated. The stationary reference frame torque not including the magnetizing inductance is calculated by stationary stator flux, and the rotating reference frame torque including the magnetizing inductance is calculated by rotating rotor flux. If the magnetizing inductance value is constant, two torque values are same regardless of the flux-component current. However, if the magnetizing inductance is varied, those two values are different. The paper presents the new tuning scheme of the magnetizing inductance using the difference between the stationary and rotating torque. Computer simulation demonstrates the efficacy of the proposed scheme.

  • The multiobjective optimization is presented for the optimal design of induction motors. The aim of design is to find an optimized induction motor in terms of both the efficiency and the mass. The efficiency and the mass are linearly combined using the weighting factors. Optimization process is performed by using the improved (1+1) evolution strategy (ES). ES is the algorithm that can find the global minimum. To verify the validity of the proposed method. the method is applied to a sample design.

  • Vector control schemes are used in inverter-fed induction motor drives to obtain high performance. Crucial to the success of the vector control scheme is the knowledge of the instantaneous position of the rotor flux. However, the position of the rotor flux change with temperature and magnetic saturation of the motor. This variation cause deterioration of both steady state and dynamic operation of the motor drives. Performance degradation is in the form of input-output torque nonlinearity and saturation of the motor. Analytic expressions are derived to evaluate the effects due to parameter sensitivity. Also, dynamic response is shown by speed command with the variation of stator and rotor resistance.

  • IPMSM for traction motor has high power density and wide operating range. But high power density causes internal temperature rise and it makes big armature reaction which causes irreversible demagnetization. And with wide operating range, rotor rotating fast gets stress from centrifugal force. For this reason, traction motor is designed to considerate stress of rotor and irreversible demagnetization for reliability. This paper explains shape design method of 120kW IPMSM accounting improvement of reliability. Finally, the validity of the analysis and the performance evaluation were verified through testing of the final model.

  • Main reasons for causing vibration in a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) are torque ripple and radial force harmonics, and hence, both of them are undesirable in high-precision machine tools and accurate motion-control actuators. Recent research on radial force is the prediction of major vibration frequencies and modes in terms of motor design such as different winding types and a fractional slot number per pole in the stator. Also, proper phase current has been investigated for minimizing radial force harmonics. During the previous studies, all the motors are assumed to be ideally built up in terms of mechanical dimensions, but it is impossible due to dimensional variation within or outside tolerance in production. Therefore, in this paper, the effect of several key factors on radial force is examined and compared regarding manufacturing imperfection.

  • In this study, as the preliminary step for developing an unmanned vehicle to deliver a container-box, we designed and implemented Automatic Guided Vehicle(AGV) Simulator for the purpose of Port Facilities Automation. It is preferable to research the intelligent AGV for delivery all day long. For complementing AGV simulator driving, we used multiple-sensor systems with vision, ultrasonic, IR and adapted the high-speed wireless LAN that satisfies the IEEE 802.11 Standard for bi-directional communication between main processor in AGV and Host computer. Here, we mounted on bottom frame in AGV Pentium-III processor, which combine and compute the information from each sensor system and control the AGV driving, and used the 80C196KC micro-controller to control the actuating and steering motors.

  • This paper presents a study on the indirect FOC (field oriented control) of induction motor using TMS320F240. This DSP has become possible to design and implement a highly efficient and accurate AC induction drive control. This paper describes a pulse width modulator based on the voltage space vectors technique that accepts voltage demands in dq coordinates and generates three-phase PWM waveforms to drive a variable frequency voltage-source inverter. The Current Model lock is added to generate the rotor flux angular speed.

  • There are two kinds of the synchronous motor, one is an induction type motor started without a driving system, the other is the one started with an external driving system. but, both are complicated. Nowadays, in order to devoid for the synchronous motor being complicated in design, line start permanent magnet(LSPM) motors are being developed. The LSPM motor is composed of the rotor that has interior permanent magnet and aluminum bar instead of general rotor. In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of the LSPM motor which has both characteristics of an induction motor and a synchronous motor, and we compared the the LSPM motor characteristics with the induction motor.
