서울시내 빨간집모기(Culex pipiens) 유충의 살충제에 대한 저항성에 대하여 (Resistance of Culex pipiens Mosquito Larvae to Insecticide in Seoul city)

  • The present status of insecticide resistance of Korean mosquitoes is still unknown. The experiment cited below is a part of our series of resistance tests on Korean mosquitoes. The test was carried out during the summer of 1959 to ascertain the degree of resistance of Culex pipiens to insecticides currently used. Culex pipiens eggs were collected from ditches in Seoul City and reared in laboratory with media consisted of the following : Distrilled water 1.0 liter, Magnesium sulfate (MgSO$_4$.7$H_2O$) 1.0gram , Calcium sulfate (CasO$_4$.2$H_2O$) 0.5gram ; Sodium cholride 0.5 gram. A Sufficient amount of beer yeast was also used as a larvar food. Late third and early fourth instar larvae were selected for testing. The results are summarized in the following. THe LC-50 of Culex pipiens to insecticides were 0.061 ppm in p, p-DDT , 0.045 ppm in ${\gamma}$-BHC and0.029 ppm in malathion. Comparing these with LC-50 doses of Orlando laboratory strain, it can be pointed out that the present resistance of Seoul strain shows about a ten-fold increase in DDt, and a fourfold increase in ${\gamma}$-BHC . The resistance development of the Seoul strain has, however, not arisen so markedly as compared with data observed in other parts of Far Eastern areas received heavy insecticidal operations.

주목류의 생물활성 연구 (A Study on the Boilogical Activity of Taxus spp.)

  • Yew cortex, twigs and leaves(Florida yew, Taxus floridana Nutt et Champ; Pacific, yew Taxus brevifolia Nutt(Taxaceae)) were extracted with MeOH and $CHCI_3$, respectively, and then the chloroform extract was fractionated by silica column chromatography. As biologically active substances, taxol derivatives were identified and several biological activity tests were followed. The results showed that it bad no antimosquito activity and inhibited the growth of root meristem of cress seeds. The chloroform ext. of Florida yew showed 91%, inhibition rate at 400 ppm and the taxol fractions of Pacific yew did 91% at 200 ppm, 94% at 100 ppm. In the antitumor activity tests in vitro against a cultured cell line of L1210 mouse leukemia, Pacific yew showed 99% inhibition rate at 1.0 ppm and Florida yew did 97% at 10 ppm.

Mulberry Silkworm, Bombyx mori L., as a Host for Neurotoxic Braconidae I. Insect-toxic Properties of Bracon Venom Gland Extract and Its Fractions

  • The silkworm Bombyx mori L. was studied as the potential “host” of popular in Uzbekistan biocontrol ectoparasite, entomophagous Bracon hebetor Say. Being one of representatives of economic-beneficial insects, the silkworm (larvae, pupae and imago) can be used as highly sensitive test organism for revealing of neuro toxic effects of insects venom as well as of their purified components in screening assays. In comparative aspect, except a mulberry silkworm, representatives of Uzbekistan pests cotton-boll worm Helycoverpa armigera Hbn., lesser mulberry pyralid Glyphodes pyloalis Wlk., codling moth Corpocapsa pomonella L., malaria mosquito Anopheles claviger and Colorado potato beetle Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say have been subjected to insect toxic test of bracon venom gland extract (VGE) and its fractions which were obtained by gel-chromatography on Sephadex G-100. The paralyzing effect of the VGE and its fractions was shown in a various degree on the pests.

천적포식어(Aplocheilus and Aphyocypris)와 미생물제제 Bacillus thuringiensis (H-14)의 병합처리에 의한 논에서 서식하는 질병매개모기의 종합적방제 (Integrated Control of Vector Mosquitoes with Native Fishes (Aplocheilus and Aphyocypris) ad Bacillus thuringiensis(H-14) in Natural Rice Fields of Korea)

  • 1998년 7월부터 10월까지 약 4개월간 질병매개모기 및 뇌염다발지역인 전라남도 영암군 덕진면 소재 약 $30,000M^2$의 자연수답을 선정, 이에 서식하는 질병매개모기인 중국얼룩날개모기(Anopheles sinensis)와 작은빨간집모기(Culex tritaeniorhynchus)를 대상으로 포식천적어송사리(Aplocheilus latipes) 및 왜몰개(Aphyocypris chinensis)방사와 미생물제제(Bacillus thuringensis H-14)를 병합처리하여 방제효과를 조사하였다. 포식천적어송사리가 0.6fish/{TEX}$M^{2}${/TEX}가 존재하는 논에서는 7월부터 8월까지 55.0~57.6%의 자연 방제가 이루어졌으며, 한 표본당 평균 10마리 이상으로 증가될 때 미생물제제(B.t. H-14)를 1Kg/ha의 농도로 처리한 결과, 24시간후 100%의 방제를 보였으며, 10월 11일 본 실험이 끝날 때까지 98%의 방제율을 유지하였다. 천적어가 존재하지 않는 논에서는 수면 1{TEX}$M^{2}${/TEX} 당 1.5마리의 비율로 포식어(Aphyocypris)를 방사한 결과 9월 21일(방사후 2주)까지 88.2~96.7%의 만족할 만한 방제율을 유지하였다. 천적어가 존재하지 않는 또 다른 논에서 미생물제제(B.t. H-14)를 1Kg/ha의 농도로 단독 처리한 결과, 24시간 후 100%의 방제율을 보였으나, 7일 후에는 개체군밀도의 회복현상을 나타내었으며 B.t.(H-14) 2차 처리후 모기유충의 개체군밀도를 억제할 수 있었다.
