Shells and operculums of eight species of Bithyniidae, Bithynia leachi, B. tentaculata, B. siamensis, B. misella, B. kiusiuensis, Gabbia australis, B. manchourica and a Bithynia sp. collected from Nepal, were observed, There is no morphological difference between korean populations of B. misella and a Japanese popualtion of B. kiusiuensis. And the shells of these species were simialr to the other Bithynia species rather than Australian Gabbia. The coordinate of the starting point of nuclear spire of operculum(SPN)was species specific and this value had very limited range within a species. The result suggested that Korean and Japanese populations of B. misella and B. kiusiuensis are synonym and the coordinate of SPN will be a useful character in sytematics of operculated snails.
Two individuals of intergeneric hybrids in the crossing of Brassica pekinensis ♀$\times$Raphanus sativus ♂ were obtained, and among the three kinds of plants, Brassica, Raphanus, and F1, comparison on the mega- and microsporogenesis, megagammetophyte formation, and morphological changes in the developing sporangia, etc., were made. Differences between Brassica and Raphanus were observed in the shape of mega- and microsporangia, their changes in development, and the formation of megagametophyte. Sporangia of the F1 plants, until pre-meiotic stage, show intermediate, maternal, paternal, or vigorous inclination, and the difference of these characteristics when compared with those of the parent is slight. Meiotic irregularity resulted from the intergeneric hybridity of F1 plant gives rise to the abnormal mega- and microspore and accompanied abortive female and male gametophytes, bringing about the remarkable differences from its parent in the morphological changes of the developing mega- and microsporangia.
This study is designed to find out the physicochemical quality and the morphological features of Korean wheat flour and imported wheat flour with a view to shed light on their difference. In terms of components, Korean wheat flour and imported wheat flour are similar, but the latter turns out to be better than the former when it comes to crude protein, the ratio of water absorption and the power of maintenance. Yet Korean wheat flour turns out to be better than imported wheat flour. In terms of the chromaticity of wheat flour, the latter turns out to be higher than the former when it comes to L value, while the former turns out to be higher than the latter when it comes to a value and b value. In terms of the morphological features of wheat flour, both are in the shape of an oval with starch particles irregularly attached to gluten. And imported wheat flour is getter than Korean wheat flour in terms of the size of particles.
Isozyme analysis, morphometric comparison, and artificial hybridization test wereperformed to elucidate the patterns of genic variation, morphological differentiation, genetic incompatibility, and a probable path in speciation between two MDH allelotypes (MM type and MS type) of the Dark Chub Zacco temmincki, a fresh water fish inhabiting in Korean waters. The degree of genic variation of MS type(HD=.023, HG=.021) was twofold higher than that of MM type (HD=.013, HG=.014) but both allelotypes were far less than the average genic variation of fresh water Bish in general. The average genetic similarities among 7 populations of MM type and 6 Populations of MS type were S=.947 and S=.966 respectively, whereas the value between two allelotypes was S=.853. Presumed divergent time of two allelotypes was estimated to be about 700 thousand years ago. Discriminant function analysis based on 18 morphometric characters of 302 specimens representing 12 populations revealed no morphological difference between two allelotypes. Artificial hybridization test indicates that there is an obvious genetic incogpatibility between two allelotypes and therefore it is assumed that isolating mechanism is completed.

The morphological analysis of wear particle is a very effective means for machine condition monitoring and fault diagnosis. In order to describe morphology of various wear particle, the wear test was carried oui under friction experimental conditions. And fractal descriptors was applied to boundary and surface of wear particle with image processing system. These descriptors to analyze shape and surface wear particle are share fractal dimension and surface fractal dimension. The boundry fractal dimension can be derived from the boundary profile and surface fractal dimension can be determined b)r sum of intensity difference of surface pixel. The morphology of wear particles can be effectively obtained by two fractal dimensions.
It is necessary to induce for using mass transit instead of passenger car, which is high occupied roadway. It is necessary to develop the automated enforcement system to do manage such things. There are lots of problems to enforce the exclusive roadway. One of the biggest problem is the difficulty of vehicle classification. In this paper, morphological vehicle classification algorithm is proposed. Vehicle object is separated from background using frame difference, then the proposed unique weighted skeleton feature is extracted. The experiments show that the vehicle identification results produced by weighted skeleton feature seem to be good quality.

Three experiments were carried out to determine the effect of harvest maturity and management practices on the dry matter losses and morphological changes of round baled rye silage. Rye was harvested at three growing stages (boot, heading and flowering stage) in three different conditions i) with wilting (unwilted, short wilting and long wilting), ii) with inoculant treatment (untreated, inoculant A and inoculant B) and iii) with three different wrap colors (white, black and green). The morphological changes in round bale silage after 2 months was heavy in the early harvest and unwilted silage. However, harvesting after the heading stage did not change the shape, significantly. Inoculant treatment reduced the morphological changes and dry matter (DM) losses of round baled rye silage. DM loss was decreased with a delayed harvesting date and was significantly reduced by the inoculant. Dramatic changes in the shape were observed in all treatment at boot stage. Inoculant treatment resulted in more severe changes in the boot stage compared to untreated silage. Black color wrapping had the greatest impact among the wrap colors and there were no significant difference in the wrap colors. Harvest maturity and wilting periods was highly correlated (p<0.01) with morphological change. Result of these studies indicated that dry matter content is the most important factor that affects the morphological change in round bale silage.
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in spatiotemporal gait performance, function, and pain of lower-extremity according to foot morphological characteristics. Method: This case-control study recruited 42 adults and they were classified into 3 groups according to foot morphology using navicular-drop test: pronated (≥ 10 mm), normal (5~9 mm), and supinated (≤ 4 mm) feet. Spatiotemporal gait analysis and questionnaires including Foot and Ankle Ability Measure activities of daily living / Sports, Western Ontario and McMasters Universities Osteoarthritis Index, Lower Extremity Functional Scale, International Physical Activity Questionnaire, and Tegner activity score were conducted. One-way analysis of variance was used for statistical analysis. Results: The pronated feet group showed longer loading response and double limb support in both feet and increased pre-swing phase in non-dominant feet. The supinated feet group demonstrated a longer swing phase in non-dominant feet and single limb support in dominant feet. However, there was no significant group difference in function and pain of knee joint and lower-extremity between groups. Conclusion: Our results indicated that abnormal spatiotemporal gait performance according to foot morphology. Although there was no difference in lower extremity dysfunction and pain according to the difference in foot morphology, they have the possibility of symptom occurs as a result of continuous participation in activities of daily living and sports. Therefore, individuals with pronated or supinated foot should be supplemented by utilizing an orthosis or training to restore normal gait performance.

Objectives : Treatment method using drugs has already been used in Korean medicine for a long time. Moreover, database has been developed and utilized for more efficient management of the treatments that use drugs. Most of such database related to knowledge on drugs is composed of origin, efficacy, temperament, ingredients and examples of application of the standardized drugs. Communication with knowledge information in other specialized areas is also accomplished by using the efficacies and ingredients with the drugs. In this study, we aimed to make data structure of the terminologies that represent the manufacturing process of herbs. However, in spite of the fact that the manufacturing process of the drugs imparts effect on their efficacies and ingredients, details of the manufacturing processes are quite limited to simple text sentences, thereby resulting in substantially lower level of utilization and difficulties in systematic researches on various factors included in the manufacturing processes in comparison to other knowledge on drugs. Methods : This Study extracted the factors necessary in the development of database by executing morphological analysis of the manufacturing process of herbs. Results : The factors are 'Order', 'Act', 'Raw material', 'Tools', 'Supporting materials', 'Intensity', 'Duration Time', 'Interval', 'Focus', 'Repetition Number', 'Untill'. We were able to tell the difference of the manufacturing process with a simple structured query language and the factors. Conclusions : Morphological analysis of medicinal herbs manufacturing Process contributes to standardization with information of the manufacturing process. And it helps to creates a quality management system through the Database.

This study was conducted to analyze the difference of body types within and between wild and farmed populations of olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus using measured records of morphological traits. The results showed that surveyed traits and standard deviation were $1,355{\pm}742g$ of body weight, $48.01{\pm}7.79cm$ of total length, and $40.96{\pm}6.80cm$ of body length. Also body height, body shape index and condition factor were $17.19{\pm}3.43cm$, $9.99{\pm}0.74$ and $11.16{\pm}1.54$, respectively. As result of least squares mean and standard error for each trait assumed in this study, those of farmed population showed significantly higher than those of wild population in all traits, exclusively in total length and body length (p<0.01). Particularly, the values of the body height and the body weight of the farmed population were higher than those of the wild population in the same total length. And the phenotypic correlation coefficients of the body weight, the total length, the body length and the body height showed strong positive correlation in all populations. These result suggested that morphological differences exist in farmed and wild flounder. Therefore, introduction of wild flounder is essential for the future production to improve the body type of farmed flounder, and parental fish should be chosen by considering selection of commercially important traits in the production process.
