A geophysical conductivity logging technique has been adopted to determine hydraulic constants using a simplified physical model that depicts the borehole condition. An experiment has been made by monitoring the conductivity change within the model hole using borehole environment water and incoming-outgoing water of different salinity, under the state of constant flow rate by maintaining balance between inflow and outflow. Conductivity variation features were observed that depended on flow rate, salinity contrasts between fluid within the hole and incoming-outgoing fluid, and density contrasts between fluid conductivity within the hole and incoming fluid. The results of the experiment show the uniform change of fluid conductivity within the hole with time, a fairly good correlation between the flow rate and the conductivity change rate. The geophysical conductivity logging technique can be an efficient tool for determining hydraulic constants if the model equation is verified by henceforward experiments.

Damages of cultural properties is caused by subsidence of foundation relating stone structures. To prevent of these structures, ground monitoring should be achieved certainly. Representative ground subsidence cause is saturated and unsaturated condition that is produced repeatedly by groundwater level fluctuations. It controls role that decrease porosity or effective porosity of soil media. Estimation of physical properties can predict from reaction of dielectric constant. Variations of dielectric constants are measured from physical characteristics change of pore, soil particle, air and water which are consisted to ground. Therefore, ground subsidence monitoring is thought that quantitative measurement is available using dielectric response of media.
Automatic flow control system composed by hardware and software was designed and fabricated to be used as teaching tool of feedback control theory in university experimental class. This system includes hardwares like data acquisition board, flow measuring device, transmitters, and the pneumatic valve, and software like LabView program for the monitoring and control of flow rates. The system was designed as the student can see the control effect of not only set point but also disturbance changes. Also the LabView program was composed for the calculation of controller parameters of both Ziegler-Nichols and Cohen-Coon tuning. The students can apply both tuning constants and compare the control performances. This system will provide the easy way for the students to understand the function and specification of control hardwares, and to raise the programing ability of control software.
Impulsive vibration velocity is monitored at the surface and the boundary surface of rocks as various impulsive forces of horizontal and vertical directions were given to rocks which had difference in uniaxial compressive strength for investigate to the vibration velocity of rocks according to the impulsive direction and the monitoring site. The vibration velocity of the boundary surface of rocks was about 2.9 times or much larger than that of the surface at the same scaled distance in the case of horizontal impulsive forces, and was above 4.2 times in the case of vertical impulsive forces. The attenuation exponents of the vibration velocity equations in the surface and the boundary surface of rocks make a vast difference with the impulsive directions, but is makes little difference in the case of the same impulsive direction. The ratio of vibration constants of the surface to the boundary surface of rocks is that square and cube root scaled equation is a range of 2.7∼3.0 and 4.9∼5.0 respectively in the case of horizontal impulsive forces, and is a range of 4.2∼5.7 and 7.7∼11.5 respectively in the case of vertical impulsive forces.

A triple bubbler sensor was tested in LiCl-KCl molten salt from 450 to 525 ℃ in a transparent furnace to validate thermal-expansion corrections and provide additional molten salt data sets for calibration and validation of the sensor. In addition to these tests, a model was identified and further developed to accurately determine the density, surface tension, and depth from the measured bubble pressures. A unique feature of the model is that calibration constants can be estimated using independent depth measurements, which allow calibration and validation of the sensor in an electrorefiner where the salt density and surface tension are largely unknown. This model and approach were tested using the current and previous triple bubbler data sets, and results indicate that accuracies are as high as 0.03%, 4.6%, and 0.15% for density, surface tension, and depth, respectively.
The quasi-exposure rate and the quasi-effective energy of the natural radiation in the field at 47 monitoring points around nuclear power plants have been studied with the pair filter thermoluminescence dosimeter system. The results of the six years observation showed that the relationship between the quasi-exposure rate $X_q$, and quasi-effective energy $E_q$ can be represented as a hyperbolic function: $X_q=A+C/(E_q-B)$, where the constants A and B correspond to the quasi-exposure rate of cosmic-rays and the minimum quasi-effective energy of natural radiation, respectively. Furthermore, the constant A is in close agreement with the values obtained by using ionization chambers and scintillation detectors. The constant B is approximately 0.68 MeV, closely corresponding to the mean energy of the photons emitted from natural uranium.
The tropospheric ozone production mechanism for the gas phase additive oxidation reaction of hydroxyl radical (OH) with isoprene (2-methyl-1,3-butadiene) has been studied using cavity ring-down spectroscopy (CRDS) at total pressure of 50 Torr and 298 K. The applicability of CRDS was confirmed by monitoring the shorter (~4%) ringdown time in the presence of hydroxyl radical than the ring-down time without the photolysis of hydrogen peroxide. The reaction rate constant, $(9.8{\pm}0.1){\times}10^{-11}molecule^{-1}cm^3s^{-1}$, for the addition of OH to isoprene is in good agreement with previous studies. In the presence of $O_2$ and NO, hydroxyl radical cycling has been monitored and the simulation using the recommended elementary reaction rate constants as the basis to OH cycling curve gives reasonable fit to the data.

One of the moot important constants to be Installed In COLSS, a monitoring system in CE typed reactors, is ROPM which would limit the operating space. This static ROPM was calculated from digital transient analysis assuming that every design basis transient was initiated from the most severe initial condition combination (LCO). Once It could be assured that core condition would not be located at none other than LCO, this static ROPM could be replaced with dynamic ROPM calculated at that condition and the dynamic ROPM would be definitely less than the static ROPM. In order to do, It must be required to calculate the transient discrete sensitivity parameters and parameters change distribution. The purpose of this report is just to propose the enlargement method for thermal margin.
Using an in-situ ellipsometer, we monitored the growth curve of optical recording media in real time. For confirmation of the thickness control using in-situ ellipsometry, we analyzed the deposited multi-layer sample made of Ge-Sb-Te alloy film and ZnS-Si0$_2$ dielectric films using an exsitu spectroscopic ellipsometer. The target material in the first sputtering gun is ZnS-SiO$_2$ as the protecting dielectric layer and that in the second gun is Ge$_2$sb$_2$Te$_{5}$ as the receding layer. While depositing ZnS-SiO$_2$, Ge$_2$Sb$_2$Te$_{5}$ and ZnS-SiO$_2$ films on c-Si substrate in sequence, we measured Ψ $\Delta$ in real time. Utilizing the complex refractive indices of Ge$_2$Sb$_2$Te$_{5}$ and ZnS-SiO$_2$ obtained from the analysis of spectroscopic ellipsometry data, the evolution of ellipsometric constants Ψ, $\Delta$ with thickness is calculated. By comparing the calculated evolution curve of ellipsometric constants with the measured one, and by analyzing the effect of density variation of the Ge$_2$Sb$_2$Te$_{5}$ recording layer on ellipsometric constants with thickness, we precisely monitored the growth rate of the Ge-Sb-Te multilayer and controlled the growth process. The deviation of the real thicknesses of Ge-Sb-Te multilayer obtained under the strict monitoring is post confirmed to be less than 1.5% from the target structure of ZnS-SiO$_2$(1400 $\AA$)IGST(200 $\AA$)$\mid$ZnS-SiO$_2$(200$\AA$).(200$\AA$).
Unsaturated $Cr(CO)_x(1{\leq}x{\leq}5)$molecules were generated in the gas phase from photolysis of $Cr(CO)_6$vapor in He using an unfocussed weak UV laser pulse and their reactions with $O_2$ and $N_2O$ have been studied. The formation and disappearance of the ground state CrO molecules were identified by monitoring laser-induced fluorescence(LIF) intensities vs delay time between the photolysis and probe pulses. The photolysis laser power dependence as well as the delay time dependence of LIF intensities from the CrO orange system showed different behavior as those from ground state Cr atoms, suggesting that the ground state CrO molecules were generated from the reaction between $O_2/N_2O$ and photo-fragments of $Cr(CO)_6$ by one photon absorption. The depletion rate constants for the ground state CrO by $O_2$ and $N_2O$ are $5.4{\pm}0.2{\times}10^{-11}$ and $6.5{\pm}0.4{\times}10^{-12}cm^3molecule^{-1}s^{-1}$, respectively.
