비디오를 이용한 하구 사주 변화 모니터링 시스템(I) - Hardware System 구축을 중심으로 - (Monitoring System of Sandbar Variation of Estuary using Video-based Technique)

  • Monitoring the location of the shoreline and foreshore changes through the time and core tasks are carried out by coastal engineers for a wide range of research. With the advent of digital imaging technology, the shore-based video monitoring system provides many advantages than field surveys. This study presents the development and construction(installation) of video monitoring system to assist the study of coastal and shoreline dynamics and evolution, especially sandbar variation at the Nakdong river estuary. For the purpose of this study, at high building near the Dadea-po beach (St. 2) and Jinudo(island) (St. 1) foreshore region, where coastline variation is highly active, 5 video cameras installed; the coastline movement has monitored since Aug. 2007 using the systems. From the image results of video camera, the 'Spit' type sandbar appears at the foreshore region of Doyodeung and Dadea-po beach and measured the deposition process of Jinudo(island) foreshore region. As a result, the monitoring system using video-based technique built in this study would be able to identify changes in the area and width of shoreline and beach of Nakdong river estuary.

  • The shoes process management monitoring system for supporting SCM is developed in this study. This system consists of a monitoring program, a conveyer system, a pneumatic unit, a controller, an USB camera, and a server and a client computer. To operate the developed system easily, the monitoring program using LabVIEW in the Windows environment is developed. This program consists of 5 modules: production management, inventory control, media management, defective management, and communication management. The developed system has several advantages: reduced time for managing process work, decreased labor costs, effective operation, and continuous work without an operator. Nowadays advanced manufacturing companies are trying to find a way to check the performance of their production equipments and plants from remote sites. Thus, to manage the developed system from remote sites, communication network is constructed. In order to evaluate the performance of the monitoring system, experiments were performed. The experimental results showed that the developed system provided a reliable performance and a stable communication.

지상 분광 자동측정 시스템을 이용한 동계 사료작물의 생육 시기별 식생지수 변화 연구 (Study on Changes of NDVI by Growth Stages of Winter Forage Crop Using a Ground-based Camera System)

  • 본 연구는 무인기를 이용한 동계사료의 수량조사시 필요한 검량식의 작성을 위한 식생조사 및 분광측정의 적정 시기와, 작성된 검량식의 적용이 적절한 시기를 판단하기 위하여 고정식 자동 분광 측정장치를 개발하여 호밀, 총체보리, IRG를 대상으로 NDVI를 장기간 측정하였다. 그리고 NDVI가 최댓값이 되는 날을 기준으로 증가기간과 감소시간으로 기간을 나누어 건물수량 예측을 위한 검량식을 작성하고 검량식의 예측정확도를 각각 비교하였다. 조사결과 호밀, 총체보리, IRG는 각각 4월 8일, 4월 9일, 4월 5일에 NDVI가 최대치가 되었으며 NDVI 증가기간의 검량식은 결정계수(R2)는 각각 0.84, 0.84, 0.78로 높은 상관관계를 보였고 NDVI 감소기간에는 각각 0.00, 0.02, 0.27로 매우 낮게 나타났다. 따라서 NDVI 측정을 통한 건물수량 예측을 효율적으로 하기 위해서는 NDVI 변화를 정확히 측정할 필요가 있으며 고정식 자동 분광 측정 방법은 생육에 따른 NDVI의 정밀 측정에 효과적인것으로 판단된다.

적외선 무선 센서 노드 및 무인감시카메라를 이용한 선진화된 축사 관리 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of an Advanced Cattle Shed Management System using a Infrared Wireless Sensor nodes and Surveillance Camera)

  • 본 논문에서는 적외선 무선 센서 노드 및 무인감시카메라를 이용한 축사 관리 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 제안하는 축사 관리 시스템은 상시 축사 모니터링, 침입 감지, 전기기기 자동제어 기능을 제공한다. 첫째, 제안하는 시스템은 무인감시카메라를 이용하여 축사와 소의 상태를 24시간 모니터링 할 수 있으며, 적외선 무선 센서 노드를 사용하여 외부 침입자를 감지할 수 있다. 둘째, 전원제어기를 사용하여 축사 내부 전기기기의 전원을 제어할 수 있다. 마지막으로 스마트폰앱 프로그램을 사용하여 이들 컴포넌트를 통합하고, 테스트베드를 통해 제안하는 시스템의 유효성을 검증한다.

경희대학교 태양관측시스템 (SOLAR OBSERVATIONAL SYSTEM OF KYUNGHEE UNIVERSITY)

  • We have developed solar observational system in the department of Astronomy & Space Sciences of KyungHee University, in order to monitor solar activities and construct solar database for space weather forecasting at maximum of 23rd solar cycle, as well as an solar education and exercise for undergraduate students. Our solar observational system consists of the full disk monitoring system and the regional observation system for H a fine structure. Full disk monitoring system is made of an energy rejection filter, 16cm refractor, video CCD camera and monitor. Monitored data are recorded to VHS video tape and analog output of video CCD can be captured as digital images by the computer with video graphic card. Another system for regional observation of the sun is made of energy rejection filter, 21cm Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector, H a filter with 1.6A pass band width and $375\times242$ CCD camera. We can observe H a fine structure in active regions of solar disk and solar limb, by using this system. We have carried out intense solar observations for a test of our system. It is found that Quality of our H a image is as good as that of solar images provided by Space Environmental Center. In this paper, we introduce the basic characteristics of the KyungHee Solar Observation System and result of our solar observations. We hope that our data should be used for space weather forecasting with domestic data of RRL(Radio Research Laboratory) and SOFT(SOlar Flare Telescope).

매립장의 효율적인 체적 모니터링을 위한 체적 계산 방법에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Waste Volume Calculation for Efficient Volume Monitoring in a Landfill Facility)

  • 도시 문명의 지속화를 위해 쓰레기 매립은 필수적이며 효율적인 관리를 위해 효율적이고 전산화된 관리가 표준화된 매립장의 운영을 위해 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 스테레오 카메라 시스템에 의한 삼차원 물체의 표면점들의 집합인 포인트 클라우드를 구해 대상체에 대한 체적을 계산하는 방법을 제시하였으며 이는 쓰레기 매립장에서의 쓰레기 매립량을 연속적으로 모니터링하는 데 사용될 수 있으며 이를 통해 쓰레기 매립장의 수명 예측 등과 같은 곳에 평가 지표로 활용할 수 있다 제시된 알고리즘은 쓰레기 매립의 체적 계산에 사용될 수 있다. 또한 본 연구는 삼차원 객체의 일반적인 체적 계산을 위한 기본 알고리즘으로도 사용될 수 있다.

  • In this study, the performance of a digital pile rebounding and penetration monitoring system (DPRMS) is evaluated and the measurement precision of the DPRMS is improved. The DPRMS is a high speed line-scanning camera system to measure the rebound and penetration of a pile in a construction work. A main problem in the DPRMS is a measurement error, which is caused by a shock or vibration due to a hammer impact. The measurement error is investigated by analyzing vibration signals of the DPRMS during the impact. Moreover, the frequency response functions of the DPRMS are also analyzed. As a result, it is found that the tripod height has an influence on the DPRMS performance and a shorter tripod is better. One more founding in this study is that the DPRMS should be placed with a appropriate distance from a pile for improving the measurement precision.

영상 감시 시스템을 위한 Nios II 임베디드 프로세서 시스템의 Linux 디바이스 드라이버 구현 (An Implementation of Linux Device Drivers of Nios II Embedded Processor System for Image Surveillance System)

  • 본 연구에서는 기존 CCTV 시스템의 고정되어 있는 감시지역과 카메라의 움직임을 수동으로 조작하는 단점을 보완 할 수 있는 영상 감시 시스템을 개발하기 위해 FPGA 기반 Nios II 임베디드 프로세서 시스템과 Linux 디바이스 드라이버를 구현하였다. Altera Nios II 프로세서 8.0부터 메모리를 안정되고 효율적으로 관리할 수 있는 MMU를 지원하고 있다. 각종 응용에 유연하고 적응성이 뛰어난 Altera Nios II 소프트코어 프로세서 시스템을 이용하여 영상감시 관제 하드웨어를 구성하였고, Linux 기반 Nios II 시스템의 카메라 디바이스 드라이버와 VGA 디바이스 드라이버를 구현함으로써 Nios II 시스템을 위한 영상 감시 시스템을 구현할 수 있었다.

Comparisons of the Environmental Characteristics of Intertidal Beach and Mudflat

  • The characteristics of morphological shapes, wave heights, tidal ranges and sediment sizes are observed and compared between intertidal beach and mudflat. The Mohang sand beach, southwest coast of Korea, is located just next to the large mudflat and has tidal range over 5 meters. Wave measurements are conducted at each entrance of the beach and mudflat as well as at the outside waters representing the incident waves to these different coastal environments. The morphological characteristics are also examined including the sediment size and the slope of the bathymetry, For the observation of morphological shapes, camera monitoring technique is used to measure the spatial information of intertidal bathymetry. The water lines moving on the intertidal flat/beach durinq a flood indicate depth contours between low and high water lines. The water lines extracted from the consecutive images are rectified to get the ground coordinates of each depth contours and integrated to provide three dimensional information of intertidal topography. The wave data show that sand beach is in the condition of severer wave forcing but tidal range is almost identical in both environment. The slope of the mudflat is much milder than the sand beach with finer sediment.

Autonomous pothole detection using deep region-based convolutional neural network with cloud computing

  • Road surface deteriorations such as potholes have caused motorists heavy monetary damages every year. However, effective road condition monitoring has been a continuing challenge to road owners. Depth cameras have a small field of view and can be easily affected by vehicle bouncing. Traditional image processing methods based on algorithms such as segmentation cannot adapt to varying environmental and camera scenarios. In recent years, novel object detection methods based on deep learning algorithms have produced good results in detecting typical objects, such as faces, vehicles, structures and more, even in scenarios with changing object distances, camera angles, lighting conditions, etc. Therefore, in this study, a Deep Learning Pothole Detector (DLPD) based on the deep region-based convolutional neural network is proposed for autonomous detection of potholes from images. About 900 images with potholes and road surface conditions are collected and divided into training and testing data. Parameters of the network in the DLPD are calibrated based on sensitivity tests. Then, the calibrated DLPD is trained by the training data and applied to the 215 testing images to evaluate its performance. It is demonstrated that potholes can be automatically detected with high average precision over 93%. Potholes can be differentiated from manholes by training and applying a manhole-pothole classifier which is constructed using the convolutional neural network layers in DLPD. Repeated detection of the same potholes can be prevented through feature matching of the newly detected pothole with previously detected potholes within a small region.
