반응표면 분석법에 의한 사출공정 및 품질 모니터링에 관한 연구 (A Study on Injection Molding Process and Quality Monitoring by Response Surface Analysis)

  • Quality of injection molded parts is dependent on both mold design and processing conditions. From the mold design point of view, an optimal shrinkage should be used to compensate the shrinkage of molded parts. From the processing point of view, it is important to analyze the priority of processing conditions because a number processing conditions affect the quality of molded parts. Processing analysis employing the design of experiment was performed, and the shrinkage of molded part was considered as a characteristic parameter to improve the quality. As the result of the analysis of variance on SN ratio of a characteristic value, injection speed and bolding pressure were selected as two effective process parameters. Regression analysis on shrinkage and processing conditions was carried out, and an optimal processing condition was obtained by the response surface analysis. Shrinkage at the optimal condition could be used to reduce the number of try-cut at the step of mold making. The ranges of indirect control parameter, such as maximum cavity pressure or weight, measured at the optimal processing condition were used for monitoring the quality of molded parts in process.

성형조건과 수지의 종류에 따른 사출 성형품의 성형 수축 (Shrinkage in Injection Molded Part for Operational Conditions and Resins)

  • 사출성형에서 성형품의 수축현상은 사출온도, 사출압력, 금형온도와 같은 성형공정에 따라 다르게 나타나며 게이트의 크기 등과 같은 금형설계에 따라서도 다르게 나타난다. 또한 수지의 결정화 유무에 따라 다르게 나타나고 있다. 본 연구에서는 여러가지 공정변수와 수지 특성에 따른 성형 수축률을 결정성수지인 poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT)와 비결정성 수지인 polycarbonate (PC), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)를 사용하여 연구하였다. 결정성 수지가 비결정성 수지에 비해 약 3배 정도의 큰 수축률을 보였다. 사출 성형품의 성형 수축은 사출온도와 금형온도가 높을수록 그리고 사출압력이 작을수록 수축률은 커지는 경향을 보였다. 게이트의 크기가 커질수록 캐비티내의 압력전달이 원활하여 성형수축률은 작아 졌다. 또한 수지의 흐름방향과 흐름직각방향의 수축률 실험에서는 흐름방향의 수축이 더 작은 경향을 보였다. 게이트와의 거리에 따른 성형수축률은 게이트에서 가까운쪽의 수축이 먼쪽보다 더 큰 수축을 보였는데 이 현상은 잔류응력의 차이로 인하여 나타난 현상으로 해석된다.

  • It is net easy to predict the shrinkage rate of a plastic injection mold in its design process. The shrinkage rate should be considered as one of the important performances to produce the reliable products. The shrinkage rate can be determined by suing the CAE tools in the design produces. However, since the analysis can take minutes to hours, the high computational costs of performing the analysis limit their use in design optimization. In this study, the surrogate models based on the RSM is used in lien of the original models, facilitating design optimization.

  • Injection mold is a manufacturing process used to produce parts of complicated shape at a low cost. Many factors affect the quality of injection molded part during injection molding process. A study on the optimization of injection mold is progressed by using a simulation software like Moldflow. Filling, packing and cooling phases of injection molding processes are analyzed according to the mold design considering the shrinkage of molded part, the degree of filling rate and the wearing of a mold. Taguchi method is applied to analyze the significance of processing parameter and the dynamic characteristics according to the variation of processing parameters. From the results, the mold temperature and packing pressure influenced the shrinkage of injection molded part.

  • In order to make 3-D glass from 2-D glass for mobile device windows, a mold is used for heat forming. In this process, the temperature of the glass is very important. However, measuring the temperature of the glass inside the mold is very difficult owing to the mold structure and the high temperature. The purpose of this study is to measure the temperature inside the mold by using Process Temperature Control Rings (PTCR) and to compensate for temperature differences in the heat forming machine and inside the mold. The measuring method uses the ceramic material's shrinkage characteristics, which makes it possible to measure the temperature inside the mold at various locations.

  • 플라스틱 중에서 열가소성 수지는 재활용이 가능하지만 재활용 수지에 대한 균일한 물성의 신뢰성이 부족하기 때문에 제한적으로 사용되고 잇다. 정확한 재활용의 정도에 따른 물성을 파악하여 사용 범위를 규정하는 것은 제한된 자원을 효율적으로 사용할 수 있는 중요한 방법이라 하겠다. 본 연구는 고밀도 폴리 에틸렌(HDPE)을 대상으로 재활용의 정도에 따른 물성의 변화를 실험적으로 수행하였다. 재활용을 하지 않은 수지와 재활용 수지를 중량비를 기준으로 혼합하여 실험을 수행하였으며 기계적인 물성의 변화를 측정하였다.

사출성형의 냉각 파라미터가 플라스틱 롤러의 수축에 미치는 영향 (The effect of injection molding cooling parameters on shrinkage of plastic roller)

  • A plastic roller for opening and closing the safety door of the injection molding machine was molded. The dimensional change of the measurement position of the roller was studied when the cooling time was applied differently among the molding conditions, and when the temperature of the coolant applied for mold cooling was also applied differently. Cooling times of 300 seconds and 400 seconds, hot and low-temperature coolant were applied. When the low-temperature coolant was applied, the measuring point of the roller shrank by 0.03 mm. However, when the high-temperature coolant was applied, the measuring point shrank by 0.3 mm. It was found that the application of low-temperature coolant among coolants was more suitable for the reference dimension of the molded article compared to the application of high-temperature coolant. Among the cooling water applied for the molding of plastic rollers, when high-temperature coolant is applied, the shrinkage rate measured immediately after ejection was smaller than when low-temperature coolant is applied. However, it was found that post shrinkage, which occurs over time, occurs much larger when high-temperature coolant is applied.

사출 성형 조건에 따른 PC 색상별 수축률 편차에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Shrinkage Deviation in PC-Collors by the Injection Molding Conditions)

  • In the data from synthetic resin makers, there is no shrinkage deviation through injection molding. But, after making the required products, even in the same conditions, there are some size-deviation in colors. Into our research, we checked main factor by the injection molding conditions. Our tests have shown this results, there are some shrinkage deviation in collors and, in the injection molding conditions, packing pressure is the main factor.

신경회로망을 이용한 정밀 사출금형의 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manufacturing of Precision Injection Mold Using Neural Network)

  • To predict the shrinkage of molded parts using numerical simulations, the mathematical model should be simplified to overcome the difficulties of formulation due to non-linearity of problems. So it is hard to predict the shrinkage exactly because of the simplification. In the present work, the neural network is used to predict the shrinkage which can implement nonlinear models very well. Comparison between the results of neural network and that of the commercial analysis software, ABAQUS, shows that the result of the neural network is in better agreement with that of the experiments.

  • 탄소 섬유 강화 복합재료는 오토클레이브 공정 시 발생하는 잔류응력이 발생하고, 스프링 인, 뒤틀림과 같은 열변형으로 인해 치수 결함이 발생한다. 열변형의 주요원인은 제품의 형상, 수지의 화학 수축과 열팽창, 몰드의 재질과 표면 상태에 따른 몰드 효과 등 다양한 요인에 의해 발생한다. 본 연구는 열변형을 예측하기 위해 점탄성 모델 해석 기법을 평판 모델에 적용하여 열변형의 주요 원인인 수지의 화학 수축과 열팽창의 영향을 분석했고, 몰드 유무에 따른 3-D 점탄성 모델의 해석 기법을 검증했다. 검증된 3-D 점탄성 모델의 해석 기법을 이용하여 L-형상의 몰드 효과를 분석한 결과, 동일한 재질의 몰드를 사용했더라도 표면 상태에 따라 잔류 변형이 다르게 나타났다.
