Fabrication of micro lens array using micro-compression molding (미세압축성형을 통한 플라스틱 미세렌즈의 성형)

  • Plastic microlenses play an important role in reducing the size, weight, and the cost of the systems in the fields of optical data storage and optical communication. In the present study, plastic microlens arrays were fabricated using micro-compression molding process. The design and fabrication procedures for mold insert were simplified by using silicon instead of metal. A simple but effective micro compression molding process, which uses polymer powder, were developed for microlens fabrication. The governing process parameters were temperature and pressure histories and the micromolding process was controlled such that the various defects developing during molding process were minimized. The radius and magnification ratio of the fabricated microlens were $125{\mu}m$ and over 3.0, respectively.

  • we can save a development cost and time as computer was used in tool and die design of car fields in die manufacture process. Dimension accuracy errors such as springback, springgo, overcrown and twist were reduced product accuracy and caused trouble to assembly each parts of car. In this paper, CADCEUS was used to modify and optimize results of deflection for a tail gate panel of car parts in order to reduce dimension accuracy errors by springback in sheet metal forming. As CADCEUS was used to apply for a tail gate panel, the time for quality to improve was reduced to 30%.

  • In diabetics, daily blood glucose testing is generally required at home, and thus, performing blood collection several times a day using a blood line is essential. Blood collection in the home and in the hospital is a source of pain and is the second most common cause of infection. In blood collecting device generally consists of four major parts: inner-case, outer case, main shaft and triger, and the most import part among those for necessary functionality is the main shaft. Filling time and injection pressure, filling balance, strain-rate analysis of change based on availability of the product. The Moldflow of FEM simulation is used for the analysis of injection molding process. In this study, aims to create a technique for injection molding and manufacturing of a main shaft of a high-performance blood-collecting apparatus capable of automatically extracting a lancet to relieve pain through depth control of the lancet.

  • This paper proposes an Molding error compensation method that improves accuracy with geometry information of injected parts using three-dimensional measuring instrument. a traditional mold design has been conducted by an experience-based trial and error, whereby generally the mold designer would decide the gate location and processing conditions. as a natural consequence, almost all creats inferior goods. It's just a process of trial and error and caught in a vicious circle. Due to this reason, this paper uses a three-dimensional measuring instrument, a commercial analysis package of injection molding(Moldflow, MPI) to analysis a state of flux.   • The application range of injection molded parts is expanding by the development of engineering plastics with good mechanical properties. Plastic gears are specially used as automotive parts due to an excellent performance in the characteristics of a strength vs. weight, and the study of injection molding process of plastic gear using Nylon66 is performed in this study. Filling, packing and cooling analyses were done by using the simulation software like Moldflow, and a mold was designed by following the simulation results. Pin-point gates with three points were taken to satisfy the design guides like a full-shot, and lower clamping force and uniform shrinkage. Characteristics of shrinkage of molded gear and temperature difference between cavity and core sides of a mold were shown.

  • Sandwich structures, which are composed of a thick core between two thin faces, are commonly used in many engineering applications because they combine high stiffness and strength with low weight. In this paper, through the FLD analysis according to the pattern changes, we have confirmed the deformed shape and formability distribution. Also, we have fabricated the dimple press mold according to the pattern changes, and obtained the dimple inner structure the forming experiments.

  • Generally, when the injection molds are made in advanced nations, the improvement of a quality and production rate is obtained by using CAE. In this paper, the methodology which is possible to reduce the cycle time of injection molding process is studies by using the cooling analysis with CAE(Moldmax). In case of changing the cooling system design with the analysis result of CAE, the manimum reduction of the cycle time runs into 30 percent. Finally, the average reduction of the cycle time is 17.8 percent.

  • Forming of PET bottle was performed by injection-stretch blow molding. Blow molding is process of contacting the dies with air of materials by pressing. In this paper, the aim was to improve reliability of technical stabilization for the PET bottle that is last productive product and process technology which was able to do maximization by a preform performance enhancement of the uniform thickness that took temperature and a characteristic of materials. Preform design and dies manufacture were conducted using injection blow molding analysis results. Therefore thickness error of 5% for PET bottle can be obtained in this paper.

  • In sheet metal forming process, drawing is typical process. And the key factor of drawing is blank holding force (BHF) A low BHF can cause wrinkling, whereas a high BHF can cause fracture during a deep drawing process. Thus, formability can be influenced by application appropriate BHF. In this study, a variable blank holding force (VBHF) is applied to extend the forming limit by avoiding both wrinkling and fracture. To determine VBHF in drawing process, numerical simulations and statistical analysis are carried out using commercial FEM software.

  • In this study, the modification structure design of insulation displacement connector developed was considered for simplification of assembly process. The modified connector consisted terminal, wafer and fitting nails. The separation behavior under locking condition for pitch 1.25mm wire to board connector was measured and the apparatus for the test was made. The maximum restraining force was measured about 4.5kgf that was bigger value than the specification limit. And the pulling force of a wire was also indicated about 2.3kgf.
