Analysis of Sun Wen's Revolution Education from the Perspective of Nationalism (쑨원(孫文)의 혁명교육 고찰: 민족주의 시각을 중심으로)

  • In this research we analyze Sun Wen's revolution education from the perspective of chinese nationalism. Sun Wen instigated the revolution of 1911 and established the first Chinese republican government; his "three people's principles" played an important role in modern Chinese politics. Sun Wen tried to remind the people and make them conscious of their sovereignty through education. Critical of then-the feudalistic education, Sun Wen incorporated Western-modern education in to his philosophy of education, which then provided theoretical framework of the Chinese revolution. At the core of it was the so-called "advanced education", based on Chinese nationalism, which encourages people to fight for independence as well as national prosperity and defense. The advanced education consisted of "proclaim education" and "constructive education". The proclaim education was a means of disseminating revolutionary ideas through an armed struggle against Ching dynasty; the goal was to encourage people to participate actively. Constructive education could be divided into two periods, namely the period of pre-republic of China and post-republic of China; the aim and process of education in the former period was to "wipe out" the Manchu people of the Qing dynasty while in the latter, to build a country predicated on Chinese nationalism, which was hostile towards the Qing dynasty and any other thoughts that do not accord with it. The main purpose of revolution education was to inspire Sinocentrism and to solidify the country of the Chinese people. Ultimately, Sun Wen's philosophy of revolution education provided foundation for the construction of a country of the Chinese people in which inspirational writing for the welfare of the people, loyalty to country, and public service are realized.

  • The article presents the idea that in the conditions of modernization of higher professional education, there is an obvious contradiction between the practical need of higher education for a scientifically grounded theory and methodology of distance learning for students and the lack of the necessary didactic and content-methodological guidelines for its implementation. In theoretical research and applied development, as a rule, the technocratic approach prevails. The emphasis is on the technical capabilities of modern computers and telecommunications. Productively, from a pedagogical point of view, this contradiction can be resolved on the basis of modeling distance learning management for students, developing and implementing a corporate information educational environment in universities, increasing the effectiveness of the methodology of pedagogical interaction between students and teachers during the implementation of distance learning.

  • In modern society, doctors are a representative example of professionals-that is, doctors are members of an occupation with high barriers to entry. For doctors, long-term education, training, and licensing are factors that make it difficult to enter medical practice. These external characteristics, which have mainly arisen in the modern era, play an important part in the professional identity of doctors. Nonetheless, the core of the doctor's identity is the identity of the healer. In today's Korean society, the universal identity of doctors as healers results from a combination of the special historical identity of professionals with high entry barriers. Korean society currently demands a high level of ethical awareness from doctors. These demands are partly derived from the nature of the practice of medical care, but they also reflect demands for strong social responsibility as professionals. It is difficult to cultivate professional ethics simply by imposing legitimate virtues, presenting an ideal model, or emphasizing moral education that is not fully realistic. A deep-rooted sense of professional ethics stems from a clear awareness of professional identity. Education plays an important role in the formation and awareness of doctors' professional identity, and various types of content and methods can be used in education. However, since the identity of an entity is formed through the process of historical experience, it is thought that the historical process of the formation of doctors as a profession should be included as an important part of education.

  • This article examines the implications of contemporary humanities education, which is raised by traditional education abroad, focusing on the contents of education and modernization of education methods. To this end, this article will cover the following topics. First, as a premise of discussion, we review the necessity of modernization of traditional education and the composition of traditional education element for modern reinterpretation. Second, I will examine the modernization of education contents through the modern education understanding of 'whole person' as a modernization plan of education contents for the traditional study abroad education and the modernization of education contents for strengthening the virtuous cycle of knowledge - practice. Third, we examine two aspects of modernization of education methods for traditional education abroad: strengthening of reflection ability through human formation and habituation through autonomous methods. Finally, briefly summarize the preceding discussion and suggest what future research should aim to do.

  • The article substantiates the need to use innovative pedagogical technologies as an effective mechanism for implementing the idea of advanced vocational education, highlights the main components of the idea of anticipation, highlights the experience of using modern technologies in institutions of secondary vocational education.   • The article considers innovative teaching methods used in the system of modern education process.   • Ma Yue-Han was a sports educator from Bokgun, China during the modern period of China. He has been a professor of physical education at China's most prestigious university Tsing-Hua for nearly 50 years. His achievements do not remain at the level of nurturing healthy bodies of students at the Chinese University of Tsing-Hua. He offered a new direction in the development and education of modern and contemporary Chinese schools, he foundation of the formation of Ma Yue-Han's athletic ideas can be attributed to the long-educated St. John University and Springfield University, where he studied intensively during his tenure at Tsing-Hua University. Also, judging from his fellow professors at Tsing-Hua University, Ma Yue-Han was influenced by the YMCA athletic spirit associated with strong Christianity and believed to have practiced it in the field of education.

Martin Buber's Religious Socialism and Education (부버의 종교적 사회주의와 교육)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between religious socialism and education of Martin Buber(1878~1965), a theistic existentialist. Buber suggested religious socialism as an alternative to modern capitalist society which has many problems. Buber's religious socialism is based on the communitarianism of Hasidism. Buber considered 'true' socialism must be based on decentralized associations, not based on centralized state apparatuses. For establishing this kind of socialism, human will and mind are the most important. Thus, education takes a very important role in the process of social transformation. According to Buber, education and pedagogy should contribute to overcoming modern society's problems by pursuing the construction of community(true socialist society). For Buber, education for individuals' character and education for building community are not separated but combined. That is, although education takes a main role in the social transformation, it should not be considered just as an instrument for the social transformation. This is the main distinction between Buber's thought and other key socialists' thoughts on social transformation and education, because many of socialists who stress the role of education in the process of social transformation, tend to regard education as an instrument for the social transformation. According to Buber, education can contribute to social transformation without being an instrument for the social transformation. These ideas of Buber on religious socialism and education have important implications for educators and educationalists who hope education contributes to solving problems of modern society.

The Implications of the Case of Medical Education in North America on Korean Medicine Education (북미 의학교육 사례가 한의학 교육에 주는 시사점)

  • Over the past 100 years, since the establishment of the modern medical education system in the early 1900s, the results of extensive field research and practice in North American medical schools and professional education have led the flow of medical education around the world. In this study, the direction of medical education in North America over the past 100 years were examined through major literature review, leading to implications and suggestions for Korean medicine education. The "Medical Education in the United States and Canada" published by the Carnegie Educational Foundation in 1910, which is considered to have laid the foundation for modern health care education, was reviewed. Next, "Educating physician: A Call for Reform of Medical School and Residency", published in 2010, which is known to have proposed a future-oriented goal for the training of medical professionals has been analyzed. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Acquisition and utilization of biomedical knowledge which is the basis of clinical competence, is a basic competency that should be provided to future medical professionals. 2) Beyond education to cultivate clinical competence of individuals directly affecting the medical treatment, various professionalism education programs that capture the specificity of Korean Medicine doctors should be established and strengthened.

A Comparative Study on the Decorative Pattern for the Traditional Costume in South and North Korea - Focus on Women Dress Since in the Middle 1990s - (남북한 전통의상에 사용된 장식문양에 관한 비교 연구 - 1990년대 중반이후 여성 한복을 중심으로 -)

  • This study examined the kinds, expression, techniques and arrangement of patterns for the traditional women's costume from 1995 to 2002 in North Korea. And the results were compared with South Korean. Conclusions are as follows : In the kinds of patterns the natural plant patterns were much more frequently used in North Korea. These tendency was same to South Korea. And the geometric patterns were more frequently used in South Korea. According to frequency in the expression of patterns, it was the realistic, geometric, stylized shape in North Korea. To the contrary it was the stylized, geometric, realistic shape in South Korea. In terms of decorative techniques, not only the traditional embroidery, gold leaf, multicolored stripes, but also modern collages, painting, beads, applique, flounce, ruffle were used in North Korea. Modern techniques were found comparatively a lot in North Korea, traditional techniques were found comparatively a lot in South Korea. In terms of arrangement of patterns, the modern arrangement was much more frequently used. And localized type of modern arrangement was found comparatively a lot in South and North Korea. Therefore traditional beauty was generally expressed by natural patterns, realistic shape and modern beauty was generally expressed by modern techniques and arrangement of patterns in North Korea.
