  • To evaluate the usefulness of pediatric chest CT scans by comparing the dose, examination time, and image quality by applying Helical mode, High-pitch mode, and Volume Axial mode to minimize the radiation exposure and obtain high diagnostic value. Revolution (GE Healthcare, Wisconsin USA) was used to divide PBU-70 phantom into Helical mode, High-pitch mode, and Volume Axial mode. After acquiring images, ROI is set for each image, heart, bone, lung, and back-ground air, and the average value is obtained by measuring CT number (HU) and noise (SD). SNR and CNR were measured and compared with DLP values provided directly by the equipment. Determining statistical significance Statistical analysis was performed using ONE-WAY-ANAOVA using SPSS 21.0. In this experiment, it was possible to inspect at a short time without deterioration of image quality with the lowest dose when using volume axial mode. Although the detector coverage of 16 cm is limited to all pediatric chest CT scans, it is recommended to be actively used in pediatric patients, and further study is needed to apply other test sites in volume axial mode.

  • Ultra Lift Luo Converter (ULC) gained considerable research interest in recent years. The stability analysis of voltage mode and peak current mode controlled ULC in continuous conduction mode is analyzed in this paper. The Eigen value theory is used for the stability analysis of voltage mode controlled ULC. Then to characterize the dynamics of inner current loop, the expressions of closed loop transfer function and loop gain are determined. An algorithm has been developed to analyze the stability of the peak current mode controlled ULC. The theoretical results are correlated with the simulation results obtained using PSIM 9.1(SMARTCTRL 1.0) software. Finally it is proposed to fabricate a prototype and validate the performance by suitable experimental setup.

  • To investigate the heavy-weight impact noise of apartment houses, numerical analysis was performed. The analysis acoustic pressure consider acoustic mode by finite element method. The variables considered effecting on the acoustic pressure are the Acoustic mode, acoustic damping, and the impulse load. The heavy-weight impact noise is a changeable value in the room. Since the most part of the frequency component of heavy-weight impact noise has low frequency. The noise in low frequency is related to the vibration of structure, the reflection of acoustic wave caused by wall and the standing wave called by acoustic mode. The prediction by the numerical analysis was verified with test result of the heavy weight-impact noise at apartment houses.

  • The main obstacle to high track density in HDD is the structural resonances of the suspension. The most critical mode is sway mode and second torsion mode, when a data is read and written. It is common fact that the effect of two modes is smaller when a thickness is bulky. But the stiffness of suspension is smaller, the slider can follow a disk better. Because these two fact are reciprocal, a compromise is needed. So we investigated another method to improve band width without changing of the thickness of suspension but with changing of the shape. In this paper, we use two method - Sensitivity analysis and SIP using ADS. And we obtained the optimized value close to target value.

  • A PWM inverter with an induction motor often has a problem with a high frequency leakage current that flows through stray capacitor between stator windings and a motor frame to ground. This paper presents an equivalent circuit for high frequency leakage currents in PWM inverter feeding an induction motor, which forms an LCR series resonant circuit. A conventional common mode ckoke or reactor in series between the ac terminals of a PWM inverter and those of an ac motor is not effective to reduce the rms and average values of the leakage current, but effective to reduce the peak value. Furthermore, this paper proposes a leakage current damper which is different in damping principle from the conventional common mode choke. It is shown theoretically and experimentally that the leakage current damper is able to reduce the rms value of the leakage current to 25%, where the core used in the leakage current damper is smaller than that of the conventional common-mode choke

  • This paper presents the design considerations and analysis for an interleaved boundary conduction mode power factor correction buck converter. A thorough analysis of the harmonic content of the AC line current is presented to examine the allowable voltage gain (K value) for meeting the EN61000-3-2, Class D standard while maximizing efficiency. The results of the harmonic analysis are used to derive the required value of K and therefore the output voltage necessary to meet the class D requirements for a given AC line voltage. The discussed design consideration and harmonic current analysis are verified on a 300W universal line experimental prototype converter with an 80V output. The measured efficiencies remain above 96% down to 20% of the full load. The input current harmonics also meet the IEC61000-3-2 (class D) standard.

  • Fuel economy label will be used as a national indicator in energy management, leading to the development of car technology manufacturer and plays a role in providing consumer vehicle purchase information. But the government's fuel economy label is continued consumer complaint is different and diminishing fuel economy were introduced by the government to measure the exact fuel economy label than resetting the 5-cycle test method in the US for the domestic vehicle standards. Originally two test mode in order to reduce the impact of the sharp increase in the resources required but methods of calculating a measured result value by driving all of the five test mode a variety of environmental conditions and the running pattern is reflected to the fuel economy label (city( FTP-75 mode), highway(HWFET mode)) and using 5-cycle correction formula for calculating a fuel consumption value and the equivalent value to calculate the result of the 5-cycle test. The compensation was calculated expression 30s, 5-Cycle Test Method of vehicles in 2011 was considered necessary to review the existing 5-cycle correction formula for the New Type car due to the recent rapid development of automotive technology. • In this paper, we propose an efficient inter and intra prediction algorithms for fast encoding of H.264/AVC. First, inter prediction mode decision method decides early using temporal/spatial correlation information and pixel direction information. Second, intra prediction mode decision method selects block size judging smoothness degree with inner/outer pixel value variation and decides prediction mode using representative pixel and reference pixel. Lastly, adaptive motion search region restriction sets search region using mode information of neighboring block and predicted motion vector. The experimental results show that proposed method can achieve about 18~53% reduction compared with the existing JM 14.1 in the encoding time. In RD performance, the proposed method does not cause significant PSNR value losses while increasing bitrates slightly.

  • Large magnitude common-mode voltage (CMV) and its variation dv/dt have an adverse effect on motor drives that leads to early winding failure and bearing deterioration. For matrix converters, the switch states that connect each output line to a different input phase result in the lowest CMV among all of the valid switch states. To reduce the output CMV for matrix converters, this paper presents a new space vector modulation (SVM) strategy by utilizing these switch states. By this mean, the peak value and the root mean square of the CMV are dramatically decreased. In comparison with the conventional SVM methods this strategy has a similar computation overhead. Experiment results are shown to validate the effectiveness of the proposed modulation method.
