In this paper, in order to analyze dynamic characteristics of an automobile steering system consisting of many components, natural frequencies and transfer functions of each component and the total system are found on a FFT analyzer by experiments. Then, the data are transmitted to a commercial package program, CADA-PC. By analyzing the data, the mode shape of each natural frequency and damping values are obtained. Also, the function of a rubber coupling in column and telescoping effects on system are considered. C.A.E commercial programs are used to compare with the results of experiments. For the finite element modeling, I-DEAS is used. Data processing and post processing are operated on NASTRAN and XL, respectively. The ball-bearing and the linkage of shaft with column are modeled by spring element. Stiffness is modified from the results of experiments. The results of those show close agreement. In the mode shape of total system, wheel mode is dominant at lower frequency, while the column mode is main mode at higher. The role of rubber coupling in vibration isolation is clear on mode shape. Telescoping function makes natural frequency of column changed.

One of unique characteristics of guided waves is a dispersive behavior that guided wave velocity changes with an excitation frequency and mode. In practical applications of guided wave techniques, it is very important to identify propagating modes in a time-domain waveform for determination of detect location and size. Mode identification can be done by measurement of group velocity in a time-domain waveform. Thus, it is preferred to generate a single or less dispersive mode But, in many cases, it is difficult to distinguish a mode clearly in a time-domain waveform because of superposition of multi modes and mode conversion phenomena. Time-frequency analysis is used as efficient methods to identify modes by presenting wave energy distribution in a time-frequency. In this study, experimental guided wave mode identification is carried out in a steel plate using time-frequency analysis methods such as wavelet transform. The results are compared with theoretically calculated group velocity dispersion own. The results are in good agreement with analytical predictions and show the effectiveness of using the wavelet transform method to identify and measure the amplitudes of individual guided wave modes.

To investigate the heavy-weight impact noise of apartment houses, numerical analysis was performed. The analysis acoustic pressure consider acoustic mode by finite element method. The variables considered effecting on the acoustic pressure are the Acoustic mode, acoustic damping, and the impulse load. The heavy-weight impact noise is a changeable value in the room. Since the most part of the frequency component of heavy-weight impact noise has low frequency. The noise in low frequency is related to the vibration of structure, the reflection of acoustic wave caused by wall and the standing wave called by acoustic mode. The prediction by the numerical analysis was verified with test result of the heavy weight-impact noise at apartment houses.

In this paper, a 3rd-order Chebyshev current-mode filter in 1.8V-$0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS parameter is designed. The core circuit of the current-mode filter is composed with the proposed voltage-controlled frequency tunable current-mode integrator. Using the proposed current-mode integrator, the cutoff frequency of the filter can be controlled and also total power consumption can be reduced. HSPICE simulation results show the cutoff frequency of the filter is controlled between 1.2MHz and 10.1MHz, and the power consumption is 2.85mW at Vdd=1.8V.

In this study, the analytic expression for the positive/negative $n^{th}-Mode$ resonance frequency of an N unit cell composite right-/lefthanded (CRLH) transmission line is derived. To explain the resonance mechanism of the $n^{th}$ mode, especially for the negative mode, the current distribution of the N unit cell CRLH transmission line is investigated with a circuit simulation. Results show that both positive and negative $n^{th}$ resonance modes have n times current variations, but their phase difference is $180^{\circ}$ as expected. Moreover, the positive $n^{th}$ resonance occurs at a high frequency, whereas the negative $n^{th}$ resonance transpires at a low frequency, thus indicating that the negative resonance mode can be utilized for a small resonator. The correlation between the slope of the dispersion curve and the bandwidth is also observed. In sum, the balanced condition of the CRLH transmission line provides a broader bandwidth than the unbalanced condition.

We have performed two kinds of experimental modal analyses fur a radial tire for passenger car under free-suspension. One is the modal analysis to obtain three-dimensional modes of tire using accelerometers and the other is the one to identify cavity resonance frequency using a pressure sensor. From the first analysis, we have obtained the three-dimensional natural modes, which makes it possible to grasp the features of the modes and to classify the vibrational modes into symmetric, non-symmetric, and antisymmetric modes in a simple way by using the experimental results. From the first and the second experimental analyses we have identified the cavity resonance frequency and its three-dimensional mode shape.

Relaxed Static Stability (RSS) concept has been applied to improve aerodynamic performance of modern version supersonic jet fighter aircraft. The T-50 advanced supersonic trainer employs the RSS concept in order to improve the aerodynamic performance. And the flight control system stabilizes the unstable aircraft and provides adequate handling qualities. The T-50 longitudinal control laws employ a proportional-plus-integral type controller based on a dynamic inversion method. The longitudinal dynamic modes consist of short period with high frequency and phugoid mode with low frequency. The design goal of longitudinal control law is optimization of short period damping ratio and frequency using Lower Order Equivalent System (LOES) complying the requirement of MIL-F-8785C. This paper addresses phugoid mode characteristics such as damping ratio and natural frequency that is affected by the nonlinear control laws such as angle of attack limiter, auto pitch attitude command system and autopilot of pitch attitude hold.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the pattern of tenant layout for selected cases of five different Urban Entertainment Center(UEC) in Seoul. This research deals with the process of gaining tenant layout pattern of 40 different types. It is composed of three combination unit with tenants of the same or different consumption mode, which is divided into four different functions of retail, entertainment, dining, and service. Then, every tenant of research cases is classified as one of the fabric type, and the data is analyzed to gain its frequency rate with SPSS 14.0 program. The following is the overall explanation of the result for this research. The frequency of tenant layout pattern between the same consumption mode shows the high rate when compared to the other patterns with different consumption mode. For example, the frequency rate of tenant layout pattern which retail and dining consumption mode are placed side by side like RRR and DDD is high. Interestingly, the frequency rate of RRR type of tenant layout pattern that sells the similar products shows especially high level. It can provide the effective environment for shoppers to compare retail goods in many different stores as producing synergic effects when they are located near each other, so this strategy should be considered when planning tenants in UEC environment. Moreover, in case of dining tenants, when they are clustered together in the UEC environment it can play a role as an anchor tenant. Tenant layout pattern of dining-retail and dining-service consumption mode shows the high frequency rate than other layout pattern with other consumption mode. Besides, entertainment consumption tenants combined with dining or retail tenants show the high frequency rate when compared to the pattern combined with service consumption mode.
Acoustic behavior in gas turbine combustor with acoustic resonator is investigated numerically by adopting linear acoustic analysis. Helmholtz-type resonator is employed as acoustic resonator to suppress acoustic instability passively. The tuning frequency of acoustic resonator is adjusted by varying its length. Through harmonic analysis, acoustic-pressure responses of chamber to acoustic excitation are obtained and the resonant acoustic modes are identified. Acoustic damping effect of acoustic resonator is quantified by damping factor. As the tuning frequency of acoustic resonator approaches the target frequency of the resonant mode to be suppressed, mode split from the original resonant mode to lower and upper modes appears and thereby complex patterns of acoustic responses show up. Considering mode split and damping effect as a function of tuning frequency, it is desirable to make acoustic resonator tuned to broad-band frequencies near the maximum frequency of those of the possible upper modes.
