Estimating People's Position Using Matrix Decomposition

  • Human mobility estimation plays a key factor in a lot of promising applications including location-based recommendation systems, urban planning, and disease outbreak control. We study the human mobility estimation problem in the case where recent locations of a person-of-interest are unknown. Since matrix decomposition is used to perform latent semantic analysis of multi-dimensional data, we propose a human location estimation algorithm based on matrix factorization to reconstruct the human movement patterns through the use of information of persons with correlated movements. Specifically, the optimization problem which minimizes the difference between the reconstructed and actual movement data is first formulated. Then, the gradient descent algorithm is applied to adjust parameters which contribute to reconstructed mobility data. The experiment results show that the proposed framework can be used for the prediction of human location and achieves higher predictive accuracy than a baseline model.

  • 최근 통합교통서비스(Mobility-as-a-Service)의 개념을 도입하여 이용자들의 이동성과 접근성을 향상시키고자 하는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히 카셰어링, 택시 등 에 대해 수요와 공급에 따라 지역을 구분하여 가격을 책정하는 유동적인 가격 책정 전략을 도입하여 단일 요금제가 가지는 서비스 기피 등의 문제를 해결함과 동시에 기업과 운전자들의 수익성에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 승객과 운전자간의 배차거리, 승객의 운행거리, 승객의 목적지에 대한 HDBSCAN 알고리즘을 통해서 정밀하게 인식된 수요 밀집지역, 승객과 운전자가 생각하는 선호가격을 고려하여 승객과 운전자의 입장에서 Matching Matrix를 생성한다. 이를 조합하고 보상에 반영하여, 강화학습이 더욱더 현실적인 유동적인 가격 책정전략을 도출할 수 있는 새로운 방법론을 제안한다.

VARIATIONS OF CONTAMINANT RETARDATION FACTOR IN THE PRESENCE OF TWO MOBILE COLLOIDS

  • Contaminant retardation factor is derived from the colloidal and contaminant transport equations for a four-phase porous medium: an aqueous phase, two mobile colloidal phases, and a solid matrix. It is assumed that the contaminant sorption to solid matrix and colloidal particles and the colloidal deposition on solid matrix follow the linear isotherms. The behavior of the contaminant retardation factor in response to the change of model parameters is examined employing the experimental data of Magee et al. (1991) and Jenkins and Lion (1993). In the four-phase system, the contaminant retardation factor is determined by both the contaminant association with solid matrix and colloidal particles and the colloidal deposition on solid matrix. The contaminant mobility is enhanced when the affinity of contaminants to mobile colloids increases. In addition, as the affinity of colloids to solid matrix decreases, the contaminant mobility increases.

차량의 이동성 행동 프로파일을 이용한 DTMC 기반의 스마트 핸드오버 기법 (A Smart DTMC-based Handover Scheme Using Vehicle's Mobility Behavior Profile)

  • 차량과 같은 이동환경에서 무선 인터넷 서비스를 사용할 때, 불필요하게 발생하는 핸드오버는 서비스 품질 저하와 시그널링 오버헤드를 유발하여 실시간 멀티미디어 서비스 제공에 단점으로 작용한다. 본 논문에서는 Mobile Node (MN)가 일정한 이동패턴을 가지고 있을 때, Mobility behavior profile을 이용하여 생성한 DTMC을 이용하여 핸드오버의 발생 횟수를 감소시켜 무선 인터넷 서비스를 향상시킬 수 있는 핸드오버 방법을 제안한다. 기존 핸드오버 방법을 반복적으로 수행하며 Mobility behavior profile을 학습하고, Mobility behavior profile 에 충분한 양이 학습되면 Mobility behavior profile을 이용하여 DTMC의 1-step & 2-step transition probability matrix를 생성한다. 그 이후에는 DTMC의 1-step & 2-step transition probability matrix를 이용하여 핸드오버를 수행하며 Mobility behavior profile을 계속 업데이트한다. 4개의 Mobility model에서의 실험을 통하여 평균 핸드오버 횟수와 평균 RSSI값, 그에 따른 Throughput을 비교한다.

Low-Complexity Massive MIMO Detectors Based on Richardson Method

  • In the uplink transmission of massive (or large-scale) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems, large dimensional signal detection and its hardware design are challenging issues owing to the high computational complexity. In this paper, we propose low-complexity hardware architectures of Richardson iterative method-based massive MIMO detectors. We present two types of massive MIMO detectors, directly mapped (type1) and reformulated (type2) Richardson iterative methods. In the proposed Richardson method (type2), the matrix-by-matrix multiplications are reformulated to matrix-vector multiplications, thus reducing the computational complexity from $O(U^2)$ to O(U). Both massive MIMO detectors are implemented using a 65 nm CMOS process and compared in terms of detection performance under different channel conditions (high-mobility and flat fading channels). The hardware implementation results confirm that the proposed type1 Richardson method-based detector demonstrates up to 50% power savings over the proposed type2 detector under a flat fading channel. The type2 detector indicates a 37% power savings compared to the type1 under a high-mobility channel.

  • In this paper we demonstrated the applications of OTFTs (organic thin film transistors) to flexible displays such as AM-EPD (active matrix electrophoretic display) and AM-OLED (active matrix organic light emitting diode), and also to integrated circuits. The OTFTs using pentacene semiconductor layer and PVP gate dielectric and Au S/D electrodes exhibited good performance for AM-EPD with the mobility of $0.59\;cm^{2}/V.sec,$ and with also good uniformity over 2.5" diagonal area. However, it is nor enough for AM-OLED requiring the mobility larger than $1\;cm^{2}/V.sec$ for large area displays. The integrated circuits also worked, producing the operating frequency of 1MHz. We need to develop a fabrication process to reduce parasitic capacitance for high frequency operation.

Changes of Distribution Coefficients of Cu, Cr, and As in Different Soil Matrix in a Laboratory Scale

  • Chromated copper arsenate (CCA), a long history of successful preservative, have raised environmental concerns. Adsorption characteristics of domestic soils for chromium, copper, and arsenic were assessed by measuring distribution coefficient ($K_d$) values of these metal components in a laboratory scale. The results revealed that $K_d$ values were higher in chromium, followed by arsenic and copper in soil matrix. Different soil matrixes resulted in varying mobilities of CCA components. The values of $K_d$ for all three metals increased with organic matter contents. The results suggest that the mobility of metal components may be very limited to the surface area adjacent to CCA-treated wood due to their fairly large distribution coefficient ($K_d$). However, the metal components would be persistent and accumulated in the soil, resulting in high chemical concentration in service area of treated wood.

NMR Relaxometry of Water in Set Yogurt During Fermentation

  • The mobility of water in set yogurt during fermentation was studied using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxometry. The spin-spin relaxation was analyzed using a 2-fraction model, resulting in 2 spin-spin relaxation time constants $T_{21}$ and $T_{22}$. Both $T_{21}$ and $T_{22}$ exhibited rapid changes between 2 and 4 hr of fermentation, coinciding with the drop in pH and the rise in lactic acid bacteria count. The spin-lattice relaxation time $T_1$ increased over the fermentation period. Both $T_1$ and $T_2$ showed an increase in the mobility of water upon gel formation during fermentation. Water redistribution within the gel matrix due to casein aggregation and structure forming may be responsible for the changes in mobility.

SOI 웨이퍼를 이용한 Top emission 방식 AMOLEDs의 스위칭 소자용 단결정 실리콘 트랜지스터 (Single Crystal Silicon Thin Film Transistor using 501 Wafer for the Switching Device of Top Emission Type AMOLEDs)

  • We fabricated a single crystal silicon thin film transistor for active matrix organic light emitting displays(AMOLEDs) using silicon on insulator wafer (SOI wafer). Poly crystal silicon thin film transistor(poly-Si TFT) Is actively researched and developed nowsdays for a pixel switching devices of AMOLEDs. However, poly-Si TFT has some disadvantages such as high off-state leakage currents and low field-effect mobility due to a trap of grain boundary in active channel. While single crystal silicon TFT has many advantages such as high field effect mobility, low off-state leakage currents, low power consumption because of the low threshold voltage and simultaneous integration of driving ICs on a substrate. In our experiment, we compared the property of poly-Si TFT with that of SOI TFT. Poly-Si TFT exhibited a field effect mobility of 34 $\textrm{cm}^2$/Vs, an off-state leakage current of about l${\times}$10$\^$-9/ A at the gate voltage of 10 V, a subthreshold slope of 0.5 V/dec and on/off ratio of 10$\^$-4/, a threshold voltage of 7.8 V. Otherwise, single crystal silicon TFT on SOI wafer exhibited a field effect mobility of 750 $\textrm{cm}^2$/Vs, an off-state leakage current of about 1${\times}$10$\^$-10/ A at the gate voltage of 10 V, a subthreshold slope of 0.59 V/dec and on/off ratio of 10$\^$7/, a threshold voltage of 6.75 V. So, we observed that the properties of single crystal silicon TFT using SOI wafer are better than those of Poly Si TFT. For the pixel driver in AMOLEDs, the best suitable pixel driver is single crystal silicon TFT using SOI wafer.

Development of Smart driving monitoring device for Personal Mobility through Confusion Matrix verification

  • 배달산업이 COVID-19 상황과 함께 요식업을 중심으로 크게 성장함에 따라 배달업 종사자가 크게 증가했다. 그와 함께 개인형 모빌리티(Personal Mobility: PM)를 활용한 새로운 배달 형태가 등장했으며, 이륜차 혹은 PM 관련 사고는 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 안전 배달 모니터링 환경을 구축하기 위해 PM의 주행 분석 장치의 제작한다. 이를 위해 주행 분석 장치와 장치에서 수집된 데이터를 클라우드 서버를 통해 처리하는 시스템을 구성했으며, 이 시스템을 통해 PM의 운전상황에서 운전 중 발생할 수 있는 특수한 상황(가/감속, 과속방지턱 통과)을 인식하고 기록하고자 한다. 그 결과 장치 내 측정 센서(IMU)에서 수집한 각속도, 가속도, 지자기 값을 통해 운행 여부 및 인도 주행 여부, 경사로 주행 여부를 판단해 낼 수 있었다. 이 기술은 기존의 영상기반 기록장치보다 약 1600배 이상의 주행 정보 저장 효율을 달성할 수 있었다.
