Development of a shared remote control robot for aerial work in nuclear power plants

  • We are developing a shared remote control mobile robot for aerial work in nuclear power plants (NPPs); a robot consists of a mobile platform, a telescopic mast, and a dual-arm slave with a working tool. It is used at a high location operating the manual operation mechanism of a fuel changer of a heavy water NPP. The robot system can cut/weld a pipe remotely in the case of an emergency or during the dismantling of the NPP. Owing to the challenging control mission considering limited human operator cognitive capability, some remote tasks require a shared control scheme, which demands systematic software design and integration. Therefore, we designed the architecture of the software systematically.

  • IT 기술의 발전은 다양한 산업에서 PLC를 기반으로 하는 스마트 팩토리의 도입이 확산되고 있는 실정이나 이를 운영하는 운영 인력의 부족으로 많은 어려움을 겪고 있기에, PLC를 사용할 수 있는 인력 양성 교육 플랫폼이 필요한 실정이다. 최근 PLC와 같은 실습 기자재를 대체할 시뮬레이션 기법의 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있으나, 기존 PC 환경에서의 시뮬레이션 프로그램들을 원격 수업에 적용할 경우 모니터 상에 많은 요소가 디스플레이 되어 화면 전환이 불편한 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 모바일 환경에서 실행하여 PC 화면에 모니터링할 프로그램의 수를 감소시킬 수 있는 모델을 제안한다. 제안 모델을 원격 교육에 적용할 경우 화면 전환의 수를 감소시켜 더욱 정확한 이해를 통하여 학습의 효과를 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Development of Anti-Rolling Demo System for Mobile Harbor Using Maglev Type AMD (자기부상방식 AMD를 이용한 모바일 하버용 횡동요 저감 데모 장비의 개발)

  • Mobile harbor which is a novel concept of ocean transportation to bring the containers from the cargo ship waiting on the ocean away is being focused now. To provide the mobile harbor with the stable loading/unloading condition, it is necessary to develop the oscillation mitigation technologies such as anti-rolling system. Anti-rolling system using AMD(Active Mass Driving) has merits that it can handle the disturbances more actively and mitigate the rolling oscillation faster than other type anti-rolling system. However, rack-and-pinion type AMD has problems such as big friction noise from gears and motor, wear and tear, and continuous maintenance. In this paper, novel anti-rolling system using Maglev type AMD for mobile harbor is suggested in order to resolve the problems caused by the friction. This novel anti-rolling system doesn't make any friction because it supports the moving mass by using magnetic levitation force and moves it by using propulsion force from the linear motor. The demo system of the novel anti-rolling system using maglev type AMD has been developed in order to investigate its feasibility. This paper presents the procedures and results of development of this demo system.

  • It is important to adopt an operation system to operate the Automated warehouses using limited resources such as space, mobile racks, and forklift. The main purpose from the operation system is to reduce the length of moving and time for both mobile racks and forklift. The complexity of the warehouse will be higher because the racks and vehicles are moving at the same time. This complexity influences badly so the operation system has to control it well. Not only layout or receipt or issue, but also conflict between mobile racks and vehicles give more complexity to the warehouse. This paper aims to fine the proper operation method related to the layout and the cargo assignment.

  • 시각장애인은 활동을 하는데 있어 많은 제약이 따른다. 특히 사물을 만지거나 음성을 이용하여 정보를 얻어 이동해야 하는 어려움을 겪는다. 공공기관 및 민간기업에서는 시각장애인의 어려움을 해결하기 위하여 다양한 지원방안을 내놓고 있지만 여전히 미흡한 것이 현실이다. 이 중 시각장애인이 사용하고자 하는 기기에 설치된 점자판에 접근하는데는 특히나 많은 어려움이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 시각장애인 및 저시력자들이 효과적으로 점자판에 접근할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안시스템은 블루투스를 이용하여 음성으로 시각장애인들이 이용하려는 시설 및 기기 등에 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 도와줌으로써, 사회적 약자의 어려움을 해소하는데 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • Acanthopanacis Cortex (Acanthopanax sessiliflorum, Araliaceae, KP VIII), an important Korean medicinal herbal drug, has been widely used as tonic, anti-stress and immuno-enhancing drugs. To monitor the contents of active ingredients (acanthoside D[=eleutheroside E], eleutheroside B, isofraxidin, chlorogenic acid, and caffeic acid) in Acanthopanax sp., we developed the HPLC analysis method and validated. The simultaneous determination of five active ingredients was achieved in a C$\sub$18/ column with an acetonitrile water (containing 1 % phosphoric acid) (15 : 85) mobile phase. (omitted)

  • Today, the use of mobile transportation cards is increasing. Most of the mobile transportation card charging methods use credit card charging methods. The existing credit card charging system has a different process for each card company, and when a system error occurs during the purchase process, there is no function to automatically handle the problem, and thus there is a problem that a person must manually correct the error. In this paper, to improve this part, we propose a system that provides information by purifying the purchases slip item by defining a common process and creating a table defined by metadata. It is expected that through the proposed system, when an error occurs in the charging process, it will reduce development effort and help in the process development research of the charging system.

  • In a ubiquitous computing environment, a ubiquitous smart space is required to help devices provide intelligent services. The smart space embedded with mobile devices should have the capabilities of collecting data and refining the data to contact. Unfortunately, the context information in a ubiquitous smart space has many ambiguous characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to adapt a standard taxonomy for contact information in the smart space and to implement an inference technique of the context information based on taxonomy. Rule-based inference engine, such as CLIPS, Jess, was employed for providing situation-aware services. However, it is difficult for these engines to be used in resource limited mobile devices. In this paper, we propose a light-weight inference engine providing autonomous situation aware services in mobile environment. It can be utilized for personal mobile devices tuck as mobile phone, PMP and navigation. It can also support both generalized rules and specialized rules as using hierarchical taxonomy information.

  • Lonicerae Flos, the flower of Lonicera japonica Thunb., has been used as a diuretic, stomachic, antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent in Korea. In order to evaluate the quality of Lonicerae Flos, the method of isolation and quantitative determination of luteolin $7-O-{\beta}-D-glucoside$ as a reference standard compound has been developed. Different specimens of Lonicerae Flos were collected from twenty Korean markets and were analyzed with HPLC using the mobile phase of MeOH-4.5% acetic acid solution (16.5:83.5). The average content of luteolin $7-O-{\beta}-D-glucoside$ from Lonicerae Flos in Korean markets was $0.43{\pm}0.34%$.

  • Polygoni Multiflori Radix, the root of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb., has been used as a tonic, and in the inflammation and constipation in Korea. In order to evaluate the quality of Polygoni Multiflori Radix, the method of isolation and quantitative determination of emodin as a reference standard compound has been developed. Different specimens of Polygoni Multiflori Radix were collected from twenty Korean markets and were analyzed with HPLC using the mobile phase of MeOH-water (64:36). The average content of emodin from Polygoni Multiflori Radix in Korean markets was 0.021%.
