  • In this study, we designed and developed the virtual reality Exergame using the smart mat and the camera sensor for exercises in indoor environments. For detecting the gestures of a upper body of users, the KINECT camera based the gesture recognition algorithm used angles between user's joint information system was adopted, and the smart mat system including a LED equipment and Bluetooth communication module was developed for user's stepping data during the exercises that requires the gestures and stepping of users. Finally, the integrated virtual reality Exergame system was implement along with the Unity 3D engine and different kinds of user' virtual avatar characters with entertainment game contents such as displaying gesture guideline and a scoring function. Therefore, the designed system will useful for elders who need to improve cognitive ability and sense of balance or general users want to improve exercise ability and the indoor circumstances such home or wellness centers.

  • The modern stage of society's development is characterized by the rapid penetration of information technologies into all spheres of life. Their use contributes to improving the quality of tourism services, as well as the competitiveness of tourism industry enterprises. The role of information technology in tourism is growing more and more every year, which determines the relevance of the study of modern trends in the use of information technology in the tourism sector. The purpose of the study is to determine the possibilities of using information technologies to improve the quality of services provided to the tourism industry under the COVID-19 restrictions. The article systematizes the main approaches to the "cluster" category and provides an original definition of the "regional tourist cluster" concept. Based on an expert survey, the main trends in the introduction of information technologies in the tourism industry under the COVID-19 restrictions have been identified, which include virtual reality and augmented reality, speech recognition technologies, photo, video, audio (contactless control technologies), mobile IT applications and Big Data technologies. It has been concluded that the vast majority of improvements in the organization of tourism services under restrictions will be based on the organization of virtual solutions and online activities. The types of tourism services will also change, and information technology will help their development and dissemination.

  • It was hypothesized that mobile 3D provide the sense of presence in different quantity and quality aspects in virtual reality. And it was supposed that the construction of presence involves various levels and dimensions. The factors of mobile 3D game are divided into 4 super-factors; condition factor, interface factor, attention factor, feedback factor that resulted into 20 sub-factors resulted from the factor analysis. Our primary goal is the development of valid Mobile 3D presence scale, and to find out the factor structure of the scale.

  • In the near future, we are expected to live in a Mixed Reality environment where reality and virtuality coexist as today we live using the Internet and smartphones in our daily lives. The relevant content based on the idea of Mixed Reality crystallizing is currently expanding, and it is time for research on it. This study examines the current situation and the development direction of mixed reality contents. Typical mixed reality contents can be classify by wearability. We analyzed HoloLens, a mixed reality wearable device that is worn on a head, which is a example of wearable device. As an example of unwearable device, we also analyzed the Room2Room which is a communication system that combines video with augmented reality-based telepresence avatar. Mixed Reality content will develop in the direction of implementing expanded use of information and more natural realism through the interactive combination of Reality, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality. As head-mounted wearable technology develops, Mixed Reality content is expected to become popular by increasing the number of Mixed Reality device users if convenience and price competitiveness are secured. The way of unifying Mixed Reality wearable devices must be established in order to increase convenience, and the environment based on Mixed Reality will be created through diversifying leisure activity content. Telepresence Avatar is expected to develop into Mobile Hologram Avar as Mixed Reality content accessible anywhere and at anytime beyond space limits. Another potential for development of Telepresence Avatar is the combination of Avatar moving on user's thought, Augmented Human technology and Mixed Reality.

  • Tangible Space is a new emerging interaction space with mobile AR/VR computing and ubiquitous computing environment with IoT. Tangible Space spans from a physical environment augmented with virtual entities to immersive virtual environments mirroring the physical environment. Interacting with Tangible Space is logged just like interacting with the Web. By webizing Tangible Space, we can gain persistence as a by-product so that human life experience in the physical environment can be logged and shared just like the information being created and shared in the current Web. The result is a powerful future direction of the web from a World Wide Web of Information to World Wide Web of Life experiences.

  • Despite the increasing popularity of wireless sensor network, indoor positioning using low power IEEE 802.15.4 compliant radio had attracted an interest of many researchers in the last decade. Old fashionable indoor location sensing information has been presented in dull and unpleasant 2D image standard. This paper focused on visualizing high precision 3 dimensional RSSI-based (received signal strength indication) spatial sensing information in an interactive virtual reality on PDA. The developed system operates by capturing and extracting signal strength information at multiple pre-defined reference nodes to provide information in the area of interest, thus updating user's location in 3D indoor virtual map. VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) which specifically developed for 3D objects modeling is utilized to design 3D indoor environment.

  • This paper is a study on map contents to be embedded in a new type of mobile device that combines 2D information and 3D information by combining 2D information with augmented reality technology. We also describe the planning and production of a 3D map application called 'NSU AR Map' using Unity3D engine to help understand this paper. 'NSU AR Map' is a map application that enables accurate identification of user's location and real-world view through 360 View. Based on the experience gained during the process of 3D map application, this paper will present how 3D technologies and augmented reality technologies are applied to new map applications and how they can be developed in the future.

  • In recent years, large-scale and high-density use of LED on facades has exposed some disadvantages, such as light pollution, high energy consumption, unsustainability, and poor interactivity. Because of the development of smartphones and augmented reality (AR), AR has emerged as a new technology available to users to interact with the media façade. As an augmented reality app for public space, the AR map app can superimpose virtual images on the surface of a building to form an AR media façade, which can be applied in the fields of navigation, advertising, interactive public art, smart retail, etc. This study establishes the variables influencing usage intention and the consequent outcomes of Huawei AR map app and uses the technology acceptance model (TAM) to discuss their relationship. Results show that consumer innovativeness, information quality, and design quality have a strong influence on perceived ease of use. Information quality has a positive impact on perceived usefulness, but design quality has a weak influence. Also, the design quality of Huawei AR map app and consumer innovativeness have a higher effect on perceived enjoyment than information quality. Users' usage attitude and perceived usefulness when using Huawei AR map app are key factors determining their usage intention. This study inspires city planners, architects, developers, and designers of AR apps that augmented reality can partly replace media façade, and that investment in augmented reality will achieve significant sustainable economic and social benefits.

  • This study suggests a methodology for automatically extracting placing information from 2D reinforced concrete details drawings and generating a 3D reinforcement placing model to develop a mobile augmented reality for bar placing work. To make it easier for users to acquire placing information, it is suggested that users takes pictures of structural drawings using a camera built into a mobile device and extract placing information using vision recognition and the OCR(Optical Character Registration) tool. In addition, an augmented reality app is implemented using the game engine to allow users to automatically generate 3D reinforcement placing model and review the 3D models by superimposing them with real images. Details are described for application to the proposed methodology using the previously developed programming tools, and the results of implementing reinforcement augmented reality models for typical members at construction sites are reviewed. It is expected that the methodology presented as a result of application can be used for learning bar placing work or construction review.
