Exploring Self-Presentation Behaviors in SNS : Focusing on Personal Characteristics and Social Influences (소셜네트워크 서비스(SNS)에서의 자아노출 행위탐색 : 개인적 속성과 사회적 영향효과를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to investigate the usage patterns of users in Social Network Services (SNS) where is an upsurge. Specifically, the paper considers the reason why young people more and more prefer online (or mobile) SNS activities rather than offline face-to-face social relationship. Furthermore, the drivers which affect SNS usages are considered from users' personal characteristics and social influences. User's personal characteristics include their personalities (extraversion and introversion), narcissism, and life satisfaction. Social influences involve subjective norm, visibility, and image. Affected by personal and social factors in SNS, users intend to show positive self-presentation, which refers to a behavior to selectively expose his/her goodness to others. As one of the most influential drivers affecting SNS usage, the positive self-representation has an effect on the level of SNS usage. Thus, this paper suggests the hypothesized research model focusing on positive self-representation in the relationship among personal characteristics, social influence, and user's behavior in SNS. Empirical data analysis with 100 questionnaires suggests that all hypotheses were adopted except for the effect of visibility among social influence factors on positive self-representation.

Basic Study for Stress Analysis Using an Unconstrained BCG Monitoring System (무구속 심탄도 모니터링 시스템을 이용한 스트레스 분석 기초연구)

  • Heart related diseases mainly caused by heavy work load and increasing stress in human daily life. Therefore, researches on mobile healthcare monitoring for daily life has been carried out. Notably, wearable healthcare monitoring system which has least restriction has been tried to provide an emergency alert of abnormal heart rate. In this study, we developed chair type unconstrained BCG measurement system which able to perform continuous heart status monitoring at the office and daily life in the unconstrained way. Furthermore, adaptive threshold is used to detect the heart rate from BCG signals. The HRV(heart rate variability) is calculated from heart rate interval. ECG signal measured using conventional method and BCG signal measured using unconstraint system are carried out simultaneously for the purpose of performance evaluation. From the comparison result, BCG signal shows a similar heart beat characteristic as ECG signal. This proves the possibility of practical implementation of unconstraint healthcare monitoring system. In addition, medical examination like valsalva maneuver is performed to observe the changes in HRV due to stress. By performing valsalva maneuver, heart is said to be placed under an artificial physical stress condition. Under this artificial physical stress condition, the time and frequency domain of HRV parameters are evaluated.

The Effect of Technostress on Counterproductive Work Behavior (테크노스트레스가 반생산적 과업행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Due to advances in information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the advent of the Smartphone, people have access to the internet and can work at any time and any where. These are however likely to cause negative effects such as the personal information leakage and invasion of privacy. Caused by negative aspects of ICTs, the stress is so-called technostress. Recently, it is reported that managers tend to task order to their subordinates using an SNS or mobile messenger on a real-time basis after office hours or even on holiday, leading to a sharp increase in technostress. While previous studies of stress indicate that it is associated with the counter-productive work behavior (CWB), no empirical evidence has shown about the relationship between technostress and CWB. This study aims to explore the effect of technostress on CWB. In addition, it seeks to clarify the moderating effect of leader-member exchange(LMX) in this relationship. Drawing on literature regarding technostress and CWB, hypotheses are developed and tested with the sample of 101 using regression analyses. Results show that technostress has a significantly positive effect on CWB, but LMX has an insignificant moderating effect in the relationship between technostress and CWB. Implications and limitations with suggestions for future studies are presented.

Implementation and Feasibility Test of the Mixed Reality Service Platform for Application of Architectural Field (건축분야 활용을 위한 MR콘텐츠 서비스플랫폼 구현)

  • Mixed reality technology (MR) has become one of the fourth industrial revolution element technologies. MR technology has been widely applied not only as a digital contents industry but also in the fields of architecture, tourism, medical field, and education. In this paper, we propose a collaborative service platform for architectural applications that inter-operate with heterogeneous devices such as MR device, PC and mobile, and develop prototype system and verify it. As a result, the 3D model using the skp extension, which is mainly used in architecture design office, was created by using developed prototype system and generate the MR contents for the hololens, which is the MR device, and the conversion time and normal operation were confirmed.

  • As energy-saving techniques based on human behavior patterns have recently become an issue, the occupant-centered control system is adopted for estimating personal preference of indoor environment and optimizing environmental comfort and energy consumption. Accordingly, IoT devices have been used to collect indoor environmental quality (IEQ) data and personal data. However, the need to safely collect and manage data has been emerged due to cybersecurity issues. Therefore, this paper aims to present a framework that can safely transmit occupant-centered data collected from IoT to a private blockchain server using Hyperledger fabric. In the case study, the minimum value product of the mobile application and smartwatch application was developed to evaluate the usability of the proposed blockchain-based occupant-centered data collection framework. The results showed that the proposed framework could collect data safely and hassle-free in the daily life of occupants. In addition, the performance of the blockchain server was evaluated in terms of latency and throughput when ten people in a single office participated in the proposed data collection framework. Future works will further apply the proposed data collection framework to the building management system to automatically collect occupant data and be used in the HVAC system to reduce building energy consumption without security issues.

  • 최근 저출산 고령화 등의 사회문제와 글로벌 환경문제가 심각하게 대두됨에 따라 스마트워크와 모바일 오피스 등 새로운 개념의 근무형태에 대한 중요성과 관심이 커지고 있다. 하지만 이러한 중요성에도 불구하고 대부분의 기존 연구는 스마트워크 또는 모바일 오피스의 도입 효과에 대해서만 논하고 있으며 실질적인 활용과 업무 만족도 향상 등 활성화를 위한 구체적인 방안에 관한 연구는 미비하다. 따라서 본 연구는 모바일 오피스 활성화를 위해 필요한 조직적 측면의 지원에 대해 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 모바일 오피스 사용자 172명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 조직에서 제공하는 물리적, 금전적, 업무적 차원의 지원이 모바일 오피스에 대한 사용자들의 인식과 활용, 그리고 만족감에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 조직지원은 시스템품질이나 정보품질과 같이 사용자들이 모바일 오피스에 대해 인식하는 품질을 통해 모바일 오피스 활용 및 만족도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 모바일 오피스 활성화를 위한 구체적인 민관의 지원방안과 시사점을 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 모바일 오피스 관련 정책 및 전략 수립의 가이드라인으로 작용할 것이다.

THE ROLE OF USING A TABLET COMPUTER FOR MOBILE COMMUNICATION ON CONSTRUCTION SITES

  • The coordination and control of construction projects is vital if a project is to be a success. Almost all analysis has shown that these can only be achieved if good quality communication can be maintained on a construction site. This research focuses on the role that tablet computers could play in enhancing this communication. The following points are investigated in this paper: (a) Whether a tablet computer can enable users to monitor project progress more efficiently than traditional methods, (b) How the tablet computer fits within the project management iron triangle in construction, (c) The two different psychological impacts of information transmission for the end user using a tablet computer (i) The expectancy to transmit information frequently and rapidly from tablet computer users to project members whilst working onsite (ii) The mode of information transmission to the cognition of the transmitted information to the tablet computer. Through the use of structured interviews and questionnaires, the opinions of individuals within various disciplines in construction were canvassed. The approach adopted in this paper deals with understanding both the soft and hard issues for deploying such a system. This research enabled the authors to develop a base framework incorporating the key factors which are relevant for implementing a tablet computer based on information flows primarily.

A Study on Mixed-Mode Survey which Combine the Landline and Mobile Telephone Interviews: The Case of Special Election for the Mayor of Seoul (유.무선전화 병행조사에 대한 연구: 2011년 서울시장 보궐선거 여론조사 사례)

  • Korean telephone surveys have been based on landline telephone directory or RDD(Random Digit Dialing) method. These days, however, there has been an increase of the households with no landline, or households with the line but not willing to register in the directory. Moreover, it is hard to contact young people or office workers who are usually staying out of home in the daytime. Due to these issues above, the predictability of election polls gets weaker. Especially, low accessibility to those who stay out of home when the poll's done, results in predictions with positive inclination toward conservatism. A solution to resolve this problem is to contact respondents by using both mobile and landline phones-via landline phone to those who are at home and via mobile phone to those who are out of home in the daytime(Mixed Mode Survey, hereafter MMS). To conduct MMS, 1) we need to obtain the sampling frames for the landline and mobile surveys, and 2) we need to decide the proportion of sample size of both. In this paper, we propose a heuristic method for conducting MMS. The method uses RDD for the landline phone survey, and the access panel list for the mobile phone survey. The proportion of sample sizes between landline and mobile phones are determined based on the 'Lifestyle and Time Use Study' conducted by Statistics Korea. As a case study, 4 election polls were conducted in the periods of the special election for the mayor of Seoul on Oct 26th, 2011. From the initial 3 polls, reactions and responses regarding the issues raised during the survey period were appropriately covered, and the final poll showed a very close prediction to the real election result.

  • The smartphone is simply beyond the means of communication equipment, to line up the turning point of mobile convergence, is recognized as a service tool of new concept the camera, game, multimedia function, digital multimedia broadcasting, mobile internet etc, that use of smartphone is working toward developed a variety and new business models. The study is empirically studied casualties that self-determination influences flow and satisfaction which is intrinsic motivation of smartphone. There are many studies on flow, is intrinsic motivation, influencing satisfaction and Loyalty, but there are little studies which variables influences flow. this study is explore causality of autonomy, competence, relatedness which are major variables of self-determination theory that studied factors effecting intrinsic motivation influencing flow and satisfaction. This study developed a research model to explain the use of smartphone, and collected 670 survey responses from the office workers of seoul S company who had experiences with such smartphone. To prove the validity of the proposed research model, SEM analysis is applied with valid 670 questionnaires. The results, firstly, autonomy positively influences flow. secondly, competence significantly influences flow. thirdly, relatedness significantly influenced flow. also, upper above results shows that flow influences satisfaction.

Development of S-63 electronic nautical system using mobile (모바일을 활용한 S-63 전자해도 시스템 개발)

  • Large vessels are currently operating by using an ECDIS, a system enabling automatic navigation and checking marine conditions. In the past, the ECDIS was used for vessels but in these days, it has been used as a method for collecting and verifying marine information, etc. from land by using a computer, instead of taking a boat out. The ECDIS on sale is generally used by companies which operate marine workers. However, this system has caused inconvenience to marine workers, in terms of tasks, services, or operations. Marine workers move out to the sea after checking the status of the system at the office. Due to the weather such as waves and winds, marine devices are not often found on the relevant coordinates. In such a case, the workers onerously need to come back to the land and track the marine devices again. In order to solve such a problem, this thesis purposes to develop a system which can check the locations of marine devices and verify a marine chart even on the sea by using a mobile. The proposed system can integrate and support a variety of protocols of relevant devices in the system itself and check data via mobile through the data transmission and streaming functions.
