  • In contrast with conventional networks, mobile ad hoc networks usually do not provide online access to trusted authorities or to centralized servers, and they exhibit frequent partitioning due to link and node failures and node mobility. For these reasons, traditional security solutions that require online trusted authorities or certificate repositories, but those are not well-suited for securing ad hoc networks. Moreover, a fundamental issue of securing mobile ad hoc networks is to ensure mobile nodes can authenticate each other. Because of its strength and efficiency, public key and digital signature is an ideal mechanism to construct the authentication service. Although this is already mature in the internet application, providing public key based authentication is still very challenging in mobile ad hoc networks. In this paper I propose a secure public key authentication service based on clustering model and trust model to protect nodes from getting false public keys of the others efficiently when there are malicious nodes in the network.

  • The tremendous advancement of technology sparked a lot of opportunities for developers and consumers to pave way to a dynamic application market in smartphones. This study focuses on the users' perspective, that is, the preference between two application markets that varies in many perspectives of its features. Hence, the purpose of this study is to provide a comparative study on two mobile application stores in smartphones; Google Play and T-Store. A survey was conducted to compare the markets, and the results showed the different influencing factors on choosing and using each application store. In addition, the results somehow revealed the harmony of co-existence in smartphones.

  • 이 연구는 스마트 폰 등 모바일 기기의 최대 장점인 시간과 공간의 제약 없이 언제 어디서나 편리하게 이용할 수 있다는 점을 활용하여 한옥 거주성능을 원격 평가하는 모바일 어플리케이션 구현을 목적으로 한다. 일반인을 대상으로 누구나 쉽게 이용할 수 있도록 관련 건축 정보 및 도움말 기능을 추가하여 효과적으로 평가할 수 있도록 제안하였다. 또한, 스마트 폰의 기능적인 특징과 최근 사용자의 필요에 맞추어서 실증 사례를 통한 현장 사진을 제시하여 직관적으로 이해할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 또한, 개발된 어플리케이션의 적용성 검증을 위해 은평 한옥마을 내 셋이서문학관을 대상으로 현장평가를 수행하여 평가 도구로서의 정합성을 검토하였다. 이 연구를 바탕으로 향후 스마트 폰을 통해 한옥뿐만 아니라 다른 용도의 건축물 평가에 적용될 수 있는 근거를 제공할 수 있을 것이다. 이 연구는 사용자 친화적인 성능평가 어플리케이션 개발의 모형을 제시한 사례로 활용할 수 있으며, 추후 개선점을 도출하여 지속적인 범용 한옥 연구개발의 확대를 도모하고자 한다.

User Interface Design & Evaluation of Mobile Applications

  • The design functionality put forward by mapping the interactiveness of information. The presentation of such information with the user interface model indicates that the guidelines, concepts, and workflows form the deliverables and milestones for achieving a visualized design, therefore forming the right trend is significant to ensure compliance in terms of changing consideration and applying evaluation in the early stages. It is evidenced that prototype design is guided by improvement specifications, includes modes, and variables that increase improvements. The study presents five user interface testing methods. The testing methods are heuristic evaluation, perspective-based user interface testing, cognitive walkthrough, pluralistic walkthrough, and formal usability inspection. It appears that the five testing methods can be combined and matched to produce reasonable results. At last, the study presents different mobile application designs for student projects besides the evaluation of mobile application designs to consider the user needs and usability.

  • The mobile industry is the key foundation of digital convergence, and its constant growth is expected. Among mobile industries, new products leading the development of devices are the Emerging Device. This study is conducted to find out factors making differentiated by comparing the structural equation model(SEM) of the Tablet PC and the e-Book Reader. The main findings are as follows. First, the application of TAM to the Emerging Device shows that fitness of the model is generally high but the effect of Perceived Ease of Use has not been verified or found insignificant. Second, the acceptance model of the Tablet PC and the e-Book Reader has found that playfulness stimulates acceptance intentions. Third, the cost level of the Emerging Device acceptance model is not a factor stimulating consumers' acceptance intentions. Fourth, product attributes of the Tablet PC and the e-Book Reader to differentiate themselves from the other device are Functionality and Playfulness respectively.

모바일 앱을 위한 소프트웨어 개발 프로세스 (A Software Development Process for Mobile Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 모바일 앱을 위한 개발과정 모델을 제안하였다. 이 개발과정에는 요구분석, 아키텍쳐설계, 네비게이션설계, 페이지 설계 구현과 테스팅 단계를 포함한 다섯가지 개발단계가 있다. 그리고 다이어그램이 있는 설계방법도 제안하였다. 프로그램개발자는 기능적 요구사항과 설계앱을 정의하는데 본 논문에서 제안한 개발방법을 이용할수 있다. 또한 개발시간과 노력을 줄일 수도 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 앱 개발에 이 방법을 적용하였고, 개발과정을 수행한 결과물로 다이어그램을 제시하였다.

Optimization of Energy Consumption in the Mobile Cloud Systems

  • We investigate the optimization of energy consumption in Mobile Cloud environment in this paper. In order to optimize the energy consumed by the CPUs in mobile devices, we put forward using the asymptotic time complexity (ATC) method to distinguish the computational complexities of the applications when they are executed in mobile devices. We propose a multi-scale scheme to quantize the channel gain and provide an improved dynamic transmission scheduling algorithm when offloading the applications to the cloud center, which has been proved to be helpful for reducing the mobile devices energy consumption. We give the energy estimation methods in both mobile execution model and cloud execution model. The numerical results suggest that energy consumed by the mobile devices can be remarkably saved with our proposed multi-scale scheme. Moreover, the results can be used as a guideline for the mobile devices to choose whether executing the application locally or offloading it to the cloud center.

Purpose of this study grasps use factor of LBS application Mobile service, and it is that analyze actual proof through questionnaire to grasp whether some relation is with value and action determination that is felt of LBS application Mobile service. Distributed all question of 190 copies but disk floret inclination did valid data 171 that clear question and omission remove a lot of questions by type of study among questionnaire of collected 182 wealths. Analyzed factor analysis and authoritativeness to search validity and confidence of questionnaire and used single regression analysis and multiple regression analysis for hypothetical verification. According to verification result, Mobile service that apply position base service usefulness and system quality, adaptedness of Mobile service that apply position base service by leading person affecting in use, acted for connection healthy and felt value is important factor immediately. Usability and social effect, felt expense, privacy did not appear by leading person that keep in mind in this study. Is been related with step that Mobile service that apply position base service is placed. That is, as present childhood, a person who have experience that use service to look for friend is few and usability fairly in last in wide application boundary and this very important person was removed finally in model. This study has sense in terms of study systematically about LBS application service use leading person that is getting into the spotlight worldwide among Mobile service that is injured newly.

Analyzing Factors Influencing COVID-19 Contact-Tracing Application Users' Mobile Location Service Settings: A Perspective of Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills Model and Implementation Intention

  • Contact-tracing applications have significantly contributed to mitigating the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), yet the extensive use of these location-based applications raises serious privacy concerns. Drawing on the Information-Motivation-Behavioral (IMB) skills model, our study investigated factors that influence users' protective behaviors toward location privacy, elucidating the privacy paradox and the mediating role of implementation intention. Through an online survey conducted in China with 311 participants, we found that privacy concerns and privacy awareness positively affected the use of mobile location service settings, with privacy concerns mediating the relationship between privacy awareness and the intention to protect privacy. Furthermore, our study demonstrated the privacy paradox, revealing the pivotal mediating role of implementation intentions in bridging the gap between users' intentions and their actual behaviors. This study offers new perspectives on the privacy paradox, particularly through the lens of implementation intention, and provides valuable insights for motivating greater use of contact-tracing applications. It offers both theoretical and practical guidance for stakeholders to address privacy concerns during global pandemics like COVID-19, thereby encouraging a more widespread and responsible engagement with technology in public health.

Evaluation of Mobile Application in User's Perspective: Case of P2P Lending Apps in FinTech Industry

  • Financial technology, also known as FinTech, is one of the fast growing global businesses in since its inception in 2008. Fintech is a new economic industry, comprised of companies that adopted the latest technologies to provide more efficient financial services than the traditional financial services. Fintech companies are generally small to medium sized startups trying to disintermediate existing financial systems. FinTech companies can be differentiated in several areas, based on its business solutions and target customers. In Korea, the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending companies are the most prominent in the FinTech sector. P2P lending is a method of borrowing or lending money to individuals through online services without the use of an official financial institution as an intermediary. The P2P lending companies operate their services entirely online or mobile environment. Consequently, mobile P2P lending application users are dramatically increasing. Thus, it is worth evaluating the acceptance of the mobile apps of the P2P lending companies from a user's perspective. This paper discusses user acceptance of the mobile P2P lending apps, guided by the Technology Acceptance Model. We conclude that the users' acceptance of mobile P2P lending apps are significantly influenced by perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and user satisfaction. These in turn influenced their attitude towards using mobile P2P lending apps and intention to use.
