With rapid growth of the wireless mobile computing network technologies, various mobile ad hoc network applications converged with other related technologies are rapidly disseminated nowadays. Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks are self-organizing mobile ad hoc networks that typically have moving vehicle nodes with high speeds and maintaining its topology very short with unstable communication links. Therefore, VANETs are very vulnerable for the malicious noise of sensors and anomalies of the nodes in the network system. In this paper, we propose an anomaly detection method by using big data techniques that efficiently identify malicious behaviors or noises of sensors and anomalies of vehicle node activities in these VANETs, and the performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated by a simulation study in terms of anomaly detection rate and false alarm rate for the threshold ${\epsilon}$.
As broadcasting is the process that a node sends a packet to all nodes in the network. it is basic process used for discovering of a routes to a node and disseminating of control information message in Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET). In this paper, we propose dynamically adjusted probabilistic mechanism based on distance ratio and node density for broadcasting in MANETs. The distance ratio can be calculated as the ratio of the radio strength length to the distance from sender of a node, and node density can be get from 1-hop nodes of neighbours. A mobile node receiving broadcast packets determines the probability of rebroadcasting considering distance ratio and node density of itself. Rebroadcast probability will be set as low value to a node which is located in nearby area of sender and has high 1-hop node density, So it reduces packets transmission caused by the early die-out of rebroadcast packets. Compared with the simple flooding and fixed probabilistic flooding by simulation, our approach shows better performances results. Proposed algorithm can reduce the rebroadcast packet delivery more than 30% without scanting reachability, where as it shows up to 96% reachability compared with flooding.
Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork is a kind of self-controlled network composed only of mobile hosts. Since its range of use is gradually expanding into various sections applicable to practical lives, active researches are being conducted on it. However, as it depends on cooperation of nodes composing the entire network, due to weakness of wireless link and lack of its central infrastructure, so it is exposed to more serious risk than general network in security. Therefore, this paper proposes Cluster-Based Dynamic Authentication that enables only reliable nodes to participate in communication, by solving lack of centralized infrastructure, using hierarchical Mobile Ad hoc NETwork structure based on cluster, and by complementing security weakness through mutual authentication between hierarchical nodes. Simulation shows that the proposed scheme can complement security weakness of Mobile Ad hoc NETwork and that it is more adequate in reliability and expandability than the existing schemes.

The Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a representative mobile sensor network. MANET is used in various areas because it consists of sensors composed of moving nodes that do not depend on existing infrastructure networks. In the mobile sensor field, the mobility characteristic plays an important role in the performance of the network. Researches on routing techniques are being actively developed in terms of energy efficiency of the entire network. Clustering-based routing protocols show excellent performance in terms of energy efficiency. In this paper, the energy performance according to routing protocols is compared in the MANET to which the same mobility model is adopted.

In this paper, we propose a Cluster-based Cooperative Routing using ARQ (CCRA) for supporting both reliability and transmitting efficient service in mobile ad-hoc wireless sensor networks with Rayleigh fading environments. The main contributions and features of this paper are as follows. First, the clustering method which uses the position information of nodes as underlying structure for supporting reliable transmission services is used. Second, the cooperative data transmission method based on the underlying clustering informations is used to improve both reliability and data transmission efficiency. Third, the ARQ-based transmission is used to improve transmission reliability. Fourth, we consider a realistic approach, in the points of view of mobile ad-hoc wireless sensor networks, based on mobile sensor nodes as well as fixed sensor nodes in the sensor fields while the conventional research for sensor networks focus on mainly fixed sensor networks. The performance evaluation of proposed routing protocol implemented via simulation using Optimized Network Engineering Tool (OPNET) and theoretical analysis.

In this paper, we design and implement location information system and user mapping system using DSDV(Destination Sequenced Distance Vector) routing algorithm in ad-hoc network environment to efficient manage a number of mobile devices. The software part in proposed system construct ad-hoc network using DSDV routing algorithm and it activate alarm system, such as vibration, when one of devices disappears in the network. The hardware system, called u_LIN (User Location Information Node) construct ad-hoc network and it helps to find a disappeared device by using warning system. When we evaluate the performance of our prototype system, we have checked a correct operation, within the range of 250m in case of 1:1 communication and within the range of 100m in case of 1:N communication. The implemented system in this paper is highly expected to flexibly use in juvenile protection system, stray-child protection system, tourist guide system and so on.

Bio-inspired routing protocol uses a principle of swarm intelligence, which finds the optimal path to the destination in a distributed and autonomous way in dynamic environments, so that it can maximize routing performances, reduce control overhead, and recover a path failure quickly according to the change of network topology. In this paper, we propose a bio-inspired routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks. The proposed scheme uses a function of overhearing via wireless media in order to obtain the routing information without additional overhead. Through overhearing, the pheromone is diffused around the shortest path between the source and destination. Based on this diffused pheromone, a probabilistic path exploration is executed and the useful alternative routes between the source and destination are collected. Therefore, the proposed routing protocol can ensure the up-to-date routing information while reducing the control overhead. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the typical AODV and AntHocNet protocols in terms of routing performances and significantly decreases the routing overhead against the AntHocNet.
In this paper, we consider mobile ad hoc network routing protocols with respect to content sharing applications. We show that by utilizing social relations among participants, our routing protocols can improve its performance and efficiency of caching. Moreover, in certain situation which we can anticipate pattern of user's content consumption, our scheme can help such applications be more efficient in terms of access time and network overhead. Using NS2 simulator, we compare our scheme to DSDV and routing protocol using shortest path algorithm.

Policy-based Network Management(PBNM) in the Mobile Ad-hoc network(MANETs) requires additional, reliable and efficient mechanism over PBNM in wired network. Thus, it is important that the management system in MANETs should cluster the moving nodes and manage their movements in an effective manner. In this thesis, I propose a mechanism for the policy-based management in ad hoc networks in which I consider several methods to discover the Policy Decision Point(PDP), set the management area, and manage the movements of Policy Enforcement Point(PEP) nodes in the PBNM system. Moreover, COPS-PR is extended for the mechanism. Finally, I analyze and validate the results through simulations.

Energy consumption is an important index in mobile ad hoc networks. Data packet transmission increases among nodes, particularly in big data communication. However, nodes may be unable to transmit data packets because of energy over-consumption. Consequently, information may be lost and network communication may block. While opportunistic network is a kind of mobile ad hoc networks, researchers do not focus on energy consumption in opportunistic network communication. This study proposed an effective sensor energy supply scheme that can be applied in opportunistic networks. This scheme considers nodes sensor requests and communication model. In this scheme, nodes do not only accomplish energy supply in communication, but also extend communication time in opportunistic networks. Compared with the Spray and Wait algorithm and the Binary Spray and Wait algorithm in simulations, the proposed scheme extends communication time, increases data packet transmission, and accomplishes energy supply among nodes.
