  • The content of hesperidin in the mixed tea, which was composed of dried orange peel, laurel leaf, mulberry leaf, silver magnolia leaf, oriental melon tap, cassia seed, and licorice root, was determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Hesperidin was quantified by a reverse phase column with gradient solvent system (watcr:acetonitrile = 80:20 to 35:65 for 30 min) and UV/VIS detection (280 nm). The How rate was kept constant at 1.0 ml/min. The content of hesperidin in the mixed tea was measured in depending on extraction time 1, 2, 3, and 4 min (29.07, 52.39, 52.45, and 88.35 mg/g, respectively).

  • Our aim was to identify the potential of reed stalk as a raw materials for biomass pellet production. Compared to woody biomass, reed stalk contained significant levels of ash. The holocellulose content of reed stalk was similar to that of larch, but the lignin content of reed stalk was lower than that of larch. In the elemental analysis, chlorine content of reed stalk was much higher than that of larch, and satisfied only the mixed biomass pellet B of European non-woody pellet standards(EN 14961-6). In quantitative analysis of the ash, heavy metals contents of reed stalk satisfied European non-woody pellet standards. Higher heating value of oven-dried reed stalk pellet was slightly lower than that of larch wood pellet. The durability of reed stalk pellet was lower than that of larch wood pellet. The results of this study indicate that reed stalk might be used as a raw material of mixed biomass pellet B.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the chemical reaction pathway for explosion accident of mixed cargo. The analysis used a structural scenario using event-tree analysis. Structural scenarios were constructed by estimating various chemical reaction paths in the content of the mixed cargo accident recorded in the written verdict. The analytical method was applied to three kinds of analysis: chemical analysis based on chemical theory, quantitative analysis using chemical reaction formula, and probabilistic analysis through questionnaire. As a result of analysis, the main pathway of the accident occurred in three ways: the path of explosion due to the reaction of concentrated sulfuric acid with water, the path of explosion due to the reaction of metal and mixed acid, and the path of explosion by synthesizing with special substances. This result is similar to the path recorded in the validation, and it leads to thar the proposed path analysis method is valid. The proposed method is expected to be applicable to chemical reaction path estimation of various chemical accidents.

  • The main purpose of this study was to perform a literature review regarding bibimnaengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles mixed with sauce)-related recipes. To conduct this research, we analyzed recipe data published in Korea from the 1800's to the 1980's. The research was conducted by content analysis and literature review. The documents used in the research were 30 books (dictionaries and recipe books). A total of 37 bibimnaengmyeon-related recipes were identified. The results of the analysis of documented data published within the last 200 years showed two different types of main ingredients for bibimnaengmyeon-related recipes; noodles based on buckwheat flour, and noodles based on wheat flour. Additionally, the bibimnaengmyeon-related recipes were divided according to the sauce; 1) noodles mixed with red pepper sauce and 2) noodles mixed with soy sauce.

  • This paper surveys the physical properties of the multiwall carbon nanotube (MWNT) and polyurethane composite film for improvement of mechanical properties and electrical characteristics. The modification of MWNT was carried out by acid treatment with nitric and sulphuric acid mixed solution, and then followed by thermal treatment for enhancing MWNT dispersion with polyurethane. This modified MWNT was mixed with polyurethane by changing the loading content of MWNT and dispersion time under the dimethylformamide solution in the ultrasonic wave apparatus. Various physical characteristics of the modified PU/MWNT films were measured and analyzed in terms of the loading content and dispersion time. The maximum absorbance of the PU/MWNT films were observed with the 2wt% loading at dispersion times of 2 and 24 hour, respectively. The minimum electrical volume resistivity of PU/MWNT film was shown at the loading content of 0.5wt% or more irrespective of dispersion treating time. However the optimum condition was assumed to 2wt% loading at dispersion time of 2 hours by assessing the surface profile of the film using video microscope. The breaking stress and strain of the PU/MWNT film decreased with increasing loading content, but no change of physical properties was shown with increasing in dispersion time.

  • Mixed feeds and their components are a very diverse matrix compared to other agricultural products worked on with NIRS classically. On a database of mixed feeds and their components (n=2.500) universal PLS calibrations and “local” calibrations were compared. The results from validation (n=600) show the potential of the calibrations and their limitations. Crude protein, crude fiber, crude fat, sugar and starch are predicted with SEPs of 0.6%, 1%, 0.3%, 1% and 1.5%, respectively. Ash content of 15% and more in several mixed feeds or components as well as rare components limit the use of NIRS for routine analyses.

  • This study has examined the removal of mixed soil of protein and fat by protease. Cotton and PET fabrics were soiled by spotting of hemoglobin and triolein, respectively. The soiling order and soil concentration were changed in this procedure. The soiled fabrics were aged at 130℃ for 20 minutes. Protease was added in the alcohol ethoxylate(AE) detergent solution. The removal effciency was evaluated by analysis of protein and/or fat on the fabrics before and after washing, respectively. The detergency of PET fabrics was higher than that of cotton fabrics. The removal efficiency of hemoglobin was improved by protease from cotton and PET fabrics. Especially the removal efficiency of hemoglobin was remarkably improved from cotton fabrics. With the increase of hemoglobin and triolein (1:1) mixed soil, the removal of mixed soil was increased in proportion to mixed soil content up to a certain point. but it began to decrease above the point from cotton fabrics, while it was generally increased from PET fabrics. The detergency of total mixed soil from cotton fabrics was higher in case of soiling order with triolein after hemoglobin than in case of soiling order with triolein before hemoglobin. But the soiling order was not greatly effected in the detergency of total mixed soil from PET fabrics.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how the qualitative research is applied to mixed method research and thereby to gain an insight to suggest reasonable ways of employing qualitative method in order to accomplish intended goal of research, especially in the field of mathematics education. For that purpose, this study carefully selects and analyzes 5 article that used mixed method and were published by Education of Primary School Mathematics Journal in 2012. Unlike those a few previous studied on mixed method that focused on producing general trend by simply showing quantitative information on what the frequence of used research topic, content, methods combination, quantitative methods, and qualitative methods, this study provides detailed result of qualitative analysis on mixed studies. In sum, this study concludes with practical and in-depth suggestions on how to improve validity of mixed research and qualitative research in the field of mathematic of education.

  • Mechanical properties of shell powder containing mixed recycled plastics were investigated depending on the shell content and surface modification. First, shell powder and LDPE were compounded using the twin screw extruder to manufacture 40 wt% master batch(M/B), and the M/B was blended with LDPE to produce bulk specimens with 10, 20, 30 and 40 wt% shell content. To improve the compatibility of shell powder with mixed recycled plastics matrix, surface of shell powder was chemically modified with cations or cationic surfactant. Surface modified shell was also used to prepare bulk specimens with the same shell content. Mechanical property analysis showed obvious improvement for the surface modified shell containing bulk specimens compared to unmodified ones. These results can lead to the development of new applications for the mixed recycled plastics.
