치자와 소목의 혼합염색에 의한 양모직물의 염색특성 (The Dyeing Characteristics of Wool Fabrics by Combination Dyeing of Gardenia and Sappan Wood)

  • On the whole the various medium colors were developed by repeat dyeing with different colorants after dyeing with one colorant in case of natural dyeing. In this study, in order to obtain various colors on wool fabrics with Gardenia and Sappan wood colorants, pre-mordanting and combination dyeing were carried out. Gardenia and Sappan wood used as natural colorants for combination dyeing showed good miscibility in dye bath, Metal compounds containing alum, copper and iron were used for pre-mordants. The various medium colors such as yellow-red were obtained according to various metal compounds for pre-mordants and various mixing portion of these natural colorants. The surface reflactance spectra and color characteristics of wool fabrics by mordanting and combination dyeing were investigated.

  • As the concern for a global energy conservation and environmental protection are increasing, it has been more important thing to correspond with CFC depletion. Alternate refrigerants have merit such as lower global warming effect, but also have demerits such as lower efficiency, miscibility, increasing noise and poor reliability problems. Then we have to develop more efficient, silent and robust compressors to satisfying world-wide demand. In this paper, parametric study on rotary compressor muffler for a room air-conditioner was carried out to investigate the effect of important design variables on noise by using Taguchi robust design method with signal-to-noise(S/N) ratio. Taguchi method seems to be helpful for finding optimum value of design variables for noise level. We also applied neural network to find optimal value of design variables.

  • Poly(${\varepsilon}-caprolactone$) (PCL) is a highly crystalline polymer that is miscible with several amorphous polymers including chlorinated polyether, poly(vinylchloride), poly(hydroxyether) and Bisphenol A polycarbonate. The crystallization behavior of miscible blend of amorphous/crystalline polymers has widely been studied. Generally a depression of the crystallization ability has been found with addition of amorphous component because of the reduction of chain mobility, the change of free energy of nucleation as a result of a specific interaction, and so on [1]. In this work, for the first time, the blend of PCL and copolymer of polyurethane containing polycaprolactone as a soft segment is considered. The structural similarity of TPU soft segment with PCL affects on formation of the miscible component and crystallization behavior of PCL in the blend. This has been studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Wide-angle X-ray Scattering (WAXS).

Enhanced Compatibility of PC/PMMA Alloys by Adding Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes

  • We prepared polycarbonate (PC)/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) nanocomposites by co-rotating twin screw extruder at 533 K. Thermal analysis results indicate that the miscibility of PC and PMMA is enhanced by MWCNTs. Bead necklace-like morphology of PMMA-rich phase is observed in PC/PMMA/MWCNT nanocomposites with increasing PMMA weight fraction due to the bead necklace-like morphology. The tensile strength of PC/PMMA (75/25)/MWCNT (1 wt.%) nanocomposite is 3% higher than those of PC/PMMA (75/25) alloy. Suppression of die swell by MWCNT filler is observed in the melt flow of PC/PMMA/MWCNT nanocomposites during extrusion.

  • Miscibility of barium sulfate in tricalcium silicate was investigated by firing 3CaCO3·SiO2 mixture containing barium sulfate at 1530℃. Added amount of barium sulfate to the mixture was zero to 5 mole % with intervals of 1 mole %. Lattice parametres were also calculated. Results were as follow; 1) Dissolution of barium sulfate in tricalcium silicate does not alter the symmetry in room temperature, but influences it's polymorphic transition forms, temperatures and thermal effects; modification triclinic Ⅱ is stabilized in room temperature. 2) Barium sulfate dissolves about up to 2 mole % in tricalcium silicate and more than this amount, tricalcium silicate formation is inhibited. 3) Unit cell volume of tricalcium silicate is slightly decreased with dissolution of barium sulfate, mainly because of contraction in c axis.

In this study, however in order to obtain various colors on silk fabrics with natural dyes, pre-mordanting and combination dyeing were carried out. Metal compounds containing alum, copper and iron were used for pre-mordants. Gardenia and Sappan wood were used as colorants for combination dyeing. In combination dyeing of Gardenia and Sappan wood, these two natural colorants showed good miscibility in dye bath. The various colors were obtained according to various metal compounds for pre-mordants and various mixing portion of Gardenia and Sappan wood.

  • Flory의 상태방정식 이론의 관점에서, 고분자용액 및 그 혼합물에서 나타날 수 있는 부분혼합도의 각 경우에 대한 일반화된 조건을 제시하였고, 혼합 Gibbs Energy ${\Delta}G_{mix}$에서 나타나는 에너지항과 free volume항들의 온도에 따른 변화를 조사하여 부분혼합도에 미치는 그것들의 영향을 일반화시켰으며, 그 밖의 매개변수들의 영향도 일반화시켰다.

급냉응고 시킨 Al-Pb 합금의 응고조직에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Solidified Structures of Al-Pb Alloy Solidified by Rapid Cooling)

  • The present investigation was made to abtain a fine distribution of Pb Particles in AL - Pb binary alloys , which have a broad miscibility gap and large specific difference, by means of rapid Cooling of the molten alloys. Al-2.4% Pb, Al-5.5wt% Pb and Al-8.0wt % Pb alloy were used. The rapid cooling operation was performed by free falling of homogeneous liquid Al-Ph alloys into the water-cooled copper mold, and thermal analysis was made. Microstructures were observed, and variations of size and number of Pb particles were analysicle analyzer. By the result of examination with the varing cooling rates 100 to $210^{\circ}C/sec$ fine distributions of Pb particles were obtained with high cooling rate. Under same cooling condition, the best rapid cooling effect was recognized in Al-5.5wt% Pb alloy.

  • 기계적 성질이 우수한 PVC와 생분해성이 우수한 고분자로 알려져 있는 폴리카프로락톤 (PCL)과 블렌드하여 새로운 소재의 생분해성 필름을 제조하여 생분해성 효과에 대해 조사하였으며, 그 결과 PCL/PVC 필름의 표면은 8주 후에 다수의 작은 구멍이 형성되었으며, 이러한 결과는 PCL의 함량이 9%로 낮아도 생분해성을 지닌다는 것을 의미한다.

ZnS 미립자 분산 붕규산엽계 유리에서의 분상 및 미립자 석출 특성 (Phase Separation and Precipitation Characteristics in ZnS doped Borosilicate Glasses)

  • To investigate an effect of phase separation on precipitation characteristics of ZnS microcrystals in ma-trix glass ZnS doped borosilicate glasses for nonlinear optical applications were prepared by melting and pre-cipitation process. ZnS dopant contributed to phase separation promotion which increased the phase separa-tion of the matrix glass within immiscibility region. It was also found that ZnS as phase separation promoter showed a similar contribution for some selected glass compositions in miscibility region. The precipitation of ZnS microcrystals occurred in thephase separable glass compoitions. The radius of ZnS microcrystals in-creased with increasing the heat treatment temperature and Na2O contents of matrix glass composition. The ZnS particle sizes estimated by effective mass approximation ranged from about 30 to 80${\AA}$ It was suf-ficiently small to show quantum confinement effect.
