Link Adaptation for Full Duplex Systems

  • This paper presents a link adaptation scheme for adaptive full duplex (AFD) systems. The signal modulation levels and communication link patterns are adaptively selected according to the changing channel conditions. The link pattern selection process consists of two successive steps such as a transmit-receive antenna pair selection based on maximum sum rate or minimum maximum symbol error rate, and an adaptive modulation based on maximum minimum norm. In AFD systems, the antennas of both nodes are jointly determined with modulation levels depending on the channel conditions. An adaptive algorithm with relatively low complexity is also proposed to select the link parameters. Simulation results show that the proposed AFD system offers significant bit error rate (BER) performance improvement compared with conventional full duplex systems with perfect or imperfect self-interference cancellation under the same fixed sum rate.

단기선 GPS측위 모델을 이용한 관측오차 분석 (Analysis of Measurement Errors Using Short-Baseline GPS Positioning Model)

  • GPS 관측값을 이용하여 측위를 하는 경우 조정계산이 수반되면 이때 관측오차에 대한 정확한 모델링이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 GPS 관측타입별 관측오차를 분석하기 위해 MINQUE(Minimum Norm Quadratic Unbiased Estimators) 방법을 사용하였으며 단기선 GPS측위 모델을 기반으로 하였다. C1, P2, L1, L2 관측타입에 대해 각각 단위분산을 계산하였으며 그 결과 관측오차는 각각 22.3cm, 27.6cm, 2.5cm, 2.2cm로 나타났다. 단위분산 계산에는 대용량의 컴퓨터 메모리와 복잡한 계산이 필요하다. 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해 epoch별로 단위분산을 추정하였으며 결과를 분석함으로써 epoch별 계산방법의 유효성을 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 계산된 결과값에 차이가 있긴 했으나 그 차이가 비교적 작기 때문에 대부분의 GPS 응용분야에서의 활용에는 문제가 없을 것으로 판단된다.

상대항법 성능 분석 플랫폼 개발 및 이를 이용한 성능 개선 (Implementation of a Performance Evaluation Platform for Relative Navigation and Its Application to Performance Improvements)

  • The positions of vessels in JTIDS where each vessel broadcasts its position, can be found using the relative navigation method. Besides positioning, the relative navigation could be adopted for identification friend or foe, tracking targets, monitoring battle field and etc. In this paper, we have explained the fundamental operation and technical structure for the relative navigation and implemented the simulation platform to evaluate the basic function and performance of the system in arbitrary environment. Using platform, the availability of relative navigation within the group network and the characteristic of the algorithm for position prediction was verified. Based on the simulation result, it was verified that EKF based navigation algorithm could produce great initial error and need quite convergence time. To improve the performance, we proposed a new navigation algorithm which uses the minimum norm estimation algorithm until the EKF converges. The simulation results reveal the relative navigation can be effectively used in the formation flight and collision avoidance system.

Efficient User Selection Algorithms for Multiuser MIMO Systems with Zero-Forcing Dirty Paper Coding

  • This paper investigates the user selection problem of successive zero-forcing precoded multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) downlink systems, in which the base station and mobile receivers are equipped with multiple antennas. Assuming full knowledge of the channel state information at the transmitter, dirty paper coding (DPC) is an optimal precoding strategy, but practical implementation is difficult because of its excessive complexity. As a suboptimal DPC solution, successive zero-forcing DPC (SZF-DPC) was recently proposed; it employs partial interference cancellation at the transmitter with dirty paper encoding. Because of a dimensionality constraint, the base station may select a subset of users to serve in order to maximize the total throughput. The exhaustive search algorithm is optimal; however, its computational complexity is prohibitive. In this paper, we develop two low-complexity user scheduling algorithms to maximize the sum rate capacity of MU-MIMO systems with SZF-DPC. Both algorithms add one user at a time. The first algorithm selects the user with the maximum product of the maximum column norm and maximum eigenvalue. The second algorithm selects the user with the maximum product of the minimum column norm and minimum eigenvalue. Simulation results demonstrate that the second algorithm achieves a performance similar to that of a previously proposed capacity-based selection algorithm at a high signal-to-noise (SNR), and the first algorithm achieves performance very similar to that of a capacity-based algorithm at a low SNR, but both do so with much lower complexity.

ICRP 기준팬텀 기반의 천연방사성핵종이 포함된 가공제품 사용으로 인한 피폭선량 특성 평가 (Characteristic Evaluation of Exposed Dose with NORM added Consumer Product based on ICRP Reference Phantom)

  • 국내에서는 2012년 천연방사성핵종이 포함된 가공제품의 규제를 위해 생활주변방사선 안전관리법이 시행되었지만, 해당 가공제품 사용에 대한 인체 피폭선량을 평가할 수 있는 기초자료나 피폭선량 평가기술이 미비하다. 따라서 본 연구는 사용자 피폭선량을 정량적으로 평가하기 위한 방법을 제안하고, 방사선의 종류 및 에너지에 따른 피폭선량 특성의 확인을 목적으로 한다. 피폭선량 평가를 위해서 몬테칼로 방법을 사용한 Monte Carlo N-Particle Extended (MCNPX) 코드를 통해 International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP)의 기준팬텀이 전산모사 되었으며, 대표적 천연방사성핵종인 우라늄 계열에서 발생되는 알파선, 베타선, 감마선의 최소, 중간, 최대 에너지가 선원항으로 사용되었다. 연간 유효선량은 가공제품 사용시간 및 사용위치를 고려한 피폭시나리오를 기반으로 평가되었다. 짧은 비정의 알파선 및 베타선은 대부분의 선량을 피부에 전달한 반면, 감마선은 대부분의 장기에 유사한 선량을 전달하였다. 방사능이 $1Bq{\cdot}g^{-1}$ 인 돌침대에 포함된 천연방사성핵종의 함유율이 10%라고 가정하고 한국인 평균 수면시간인 7시간 50분간 돌침대를 사용하였을 때 최대 연간 유효선량은 알파선, 베타선, 감마선에 대해서 각각 0.0222, 0.0836, $0.0101mSv{\cdot}y^{-1}$로 평가되었다.

Optimization and application of multiple tuned mass dampers in the vibration control of pedestrian bridges

  • An effective design approach for Multiple Tuned Mass Dampers (MTMDs) in pedestrian bridges was proposed by utilizing the transfer function to obtain each TMD's optimum stiffness and damping. A systematic simulation of pedestrian excitations was described. The motion equation of a typical MTMD system attached to a Multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) system was presented, and the transfer function from the input pedestrian excitations to the output acceleration responses was defined. By solving the minimum norm of the transfer function, the parameters of the MTMD which resulted in the minimum overall responses can be obtained. Two applications of lightly damped pedestrian bridges attached with MTMD showed that MTMDs designed through this method can significantly reduce the structural responses when subjected to pedestrian excitations, and the vibration control effects were better than the MTMD when it was considered as being composed of equal number and mass ratios of TMDs designed by classical Den Hartog method.

  • 광저장장치의 DC-억압을 위한 멀티모드 코딩 기법 중 Guided Scrambling (GS) 코딩기법이 널리 사용된다. 홀로그래픽 저장장치를 위한 DC-억압 GS코딩에서는 후보코드 선택기준으로 심볼의 균등한 분포 및 심볼간 천이의 최대화 기준이 고려되었다. 본 연구에서는 후보코드행렬의 digital sum value (DSV)의 $l_{\infty}$-norm을 최소화하는 minimum DSV (MDSV) 기준 GS코딩을 정수계획법 모형으로 수식화하고, 제안된 모형을 사용하여 MDSV 기준과 최대천이강도 기준이 적용된 GS코딩의 성능을 제어비트수, 행렬크기 및 스크램블링 다항식들의 조합에 대하여 평가한다.

소비자 네트워크의 변화 관리 문제 : 최소지배집합 역 문제의 계산 복잡성 증명 (The Challenge of Managing Customer Networks under Change : Proving the Complexity of the Inverse Dominating Set Problem)

  • Customer networks go through constant changes. They may expand or shrink once they are formed. In dynamic environments, it is a critical corporate challenge to identify and manage influential customer groups in a cost effective way. In this context, we apply inverse optimization theory to suggest an efficient method to manage customer networks. In this paper, we assume that there exists a subset of nodes that might have a large effect on the network and that the network can be modified via some strategic actions. Rather than making efforts to find influential nodes whenever the network changes, we focus on a subset of selective nodes and perturb as little as possible the interaction between nodes in order to make the selected nodes influential in the given network. We define the following problem based on the inverse optimization. Given a graph and a prescribed node subset, the objective is to modify the structure of the given graph so that the fixed subset of nodes becomes a minimum dominating set in the modified graph and the cost for modification is minimum under a fixed norm. We call this problem the inverse dominating set problem and investigate its computational complexity.

An efficient solution algorithm of the optimal load distribution for multiple cooperating robots

  • An efficient solution algorithm of the optimal load distribution problem with joint torque constraints is presented. Multiple robot system where each robot is rigidly grasping a common object is considered. The optimality criteria used is the sum of weighted norm of the joint torque vectors. The maximum and minimum bounds of each joint torque in arbitrary form are considered as constraints, and the solution that reduces the internal force to zero is obtained. The optimal load distribution problem is formulated as a quadratic optimization problem in R, where I is the number of robots. The general solution can be obtained using any efficient numerial method for quadratic programming, and for dual robot case, the optimal solution is given in a simple analytical form.

이원혼합모형에서 고정효과 유의성검정에 대한 검정력 분석 (Power analysis of testing fixed effects with two way classification)

  • 고정효과가 하나인 이원혼합모형에서의 고정효과 유의성검정에 대한 검정력 분석을 고려한다. 고정효과 수준간의 차이를 검정하는데 사용되는 일반화 최소제곱 F 통계량을 헨더슨의 방법 III, 사전추측값이 1인 MINQUE 추정량, 최우추정법, 제한적 최우 추정법을 이용하여 구하고 이 검정 통계량들의 검정력을 모의실험을 통하여 알아본다. 모의실험의 결과는 결론적으로 검정력의 측면에서 살펴본 효율성은 4가지 추정량 모두 대체적으로 비슷한 것으로 판명되었다.
