  • In this paper, we propose a modified Halpern's iterative scheme developed from a sequence of a new class of enriched nonspreading mappings and an enriched nonexpansive mapping in the setup of a real Hilbert space. Moreover, we prove strong convergence theorem of the proposed method under mild conditions on the control parameters. Also, we obtain some basic properties of our new class of enriched nonspreading mappings.

  • We prove the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for a fourth order problem ${\Delta}^2u+c{\Delta}u={\alpha}u-{\beta}(u+1)^-$ in ${\Omega}$, ${\Delta}u=0$ and $u=0$ on ${\partial}{\Omega}$, where ${\lambda}_1{\leq}c{\leq}{\lambda}_2$ (where $({\lambda}_i)_{i{\geq}1}$ is the sequence of the eigenvalues of $-{\Delta}$ in$H_0^1({\Omega})$) and ${\Omega}$ is a bounded open set in $R^N$ with smooth boundary ${\partial}{\Omega}$. The results are proved by applying minimax arguments and linking theory.

  • We introduce a new concept of convex spaces and a multimap class K having certain KKM property. From a basic KKM type theorem for a K-map defined on an convex space without any topology, we deduce ten equivalent formulations of the theorem. As applications of the equivalents, in the frame of convex topological spaces, we obtain Fan-Browder type fixed point theorems, almost fixed point theorems for multimaps, mutual relations between the map classes K and B, variational inequalities, the von Neumann type minimax theorems, and the Nash equilibrium theorems.

  • Many kinds of Minty's lemmas show that Minty-type variational inequality problems are very closely related to Stampacchia-type variational inequality problems. Particularly, Minty-type vector variational inequality problems are deeply connected with vector optimization problems. Liu et al. [10] considered vector variational inequalities for setvalued mappings by using scalarization approaches considered by Konnov [8]. Lee et al. [9] considered two kinds of Stampacchia-type vector variational inequalities by using four kinds of Stampacchia-type scalar variational inequalities and obtain the relations of the solution sets between the six variational inequalities, which are more generalized results than those considered in [10]. In this paper, the author considers the Minty-type case corresponding to the Stampacchia-type case considered in [9].

  • Using Minimax principle and Linking theorem in critical point theory, we prove the existence of two nontrivial solutions for the following second order superlinear difference systems $$(P)\{{\Delta}^2x(k-1)+g(k,y(k))=0,\;k{\in}[1,\;T],\;{\Delta}^2y(k-1)+f(k,\;x(k)=0,\;k{\in}[1,\;T],\;x(0)=y(0)=0,\;x(T+1)=y(T+1)=0$$ where T is a positive integer, [1, T] is the discrete interval {1, 2,..., T}, ${\Delat}x(k)=x(k+1)-x(k)$ is the forward difference operator and ${\Delta}^2x(k)={\Delta}({\Delta}x(k))$.

  • A plethora of applications from mathematical programmings, such as minimax, mathematical programming, penalization and fixed point problems can be framed as variational inequality problems. Most of the methods that used to solve such problems involve iterative methods, that is why, in this paper, we introduce a new extragradient-like method to solve pseudomonotone variational inequalities in a real Hilbert space. The proposed method has the advantage of a variable step size rule that is updated for each iteration based on previous iterations. The main advantage of this method is that it operates without the previous knowledge of the Lipschitz constants of an operator. A strong convergence theorem for the proposed method is proved by letting the mild conditions on an operator 𝒢. Numerical experiments have been studied in order to validate the numerical performance of the proposed method and to compare it with existing methods.
