Sucrose, Propylene Glycol, Tween 80의 첨가가 전환기 젖소의 생산성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dietary Addition of Sucrose, Propylene Glycol and Tween 80 on the Performance of Transitional Holstein Cows)

  • 본 연구는 분만 전후 40두의 젖소에 무첨가, sucrose, sucrose+PG 및 sucrose+PG+NIS 복합제 첨가의 4 처리로 급여 시 사료섭취량, 산유량 혈중대사물질 및 대사성 질병 발생에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 사양시험을 수행하였는데, 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다.분만전 건물섭취량은 처리 간에 차이가 없었지만 sucrose+PG+NIS 복합제를 투여하였을 때 대조구 보다 높았으며(P<0.05), sucrose 급여시 분만 후 3주 동안의 건물섭취량이 대조구에 비하여 유의있게 높았다(P<0.05). 혈중 glucose 함량은 처리 간에 유의적인 차이가 없었으나, 분만 전 21일 평균 NEFA 함량은 대조구에 비하여 sucrose+PG 혼합제를 투여한 처리구에서 유의있게 낮은 수준을 보여주었다 (P<0.05). 그러나 분만 당일 및 분만 후 21일 동안에는 처리 간에 유의적인 차이를 보여주지는 않았다. 처리구별 산유량에 있어서는 첨가제의 급여에 의한 차이를 보여주지 않았으나, 유지율에 있어서는 sucrose 급여구와 sucrose+PG+NIS 복합제를 급여한 구에서 대조구에 비하여 유의있게 높은 수준을 보여주었다. 그리고 4 % FCM에서는 대조구에 비하여 모든 처리구에서 유의있게 높았으며 (P<0.05), 대사성질병 발생은 대조구에서 첨가제 급여구에 비하여 다소 많은 개체에서 후산정체, ketosis 및 유방염이 발생하였다.본 시험의 결과에서 sucrose와 같이 단맛으로 기호성을 증진시켜주는 것과 에너지원으로 이용될 수 있는 PG와 함께 사료의 이용성을 높여줄 수 있는 NIS를 첨가하여 급여할 경우에 생산성을 높이고 대사성질병의 발생을 줄여 낙농농가의 생산성 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료되었다.

고혈압 전단계 및 고혈압 환자에서 의학영양치료와 병행한 생리활성 펩티드 함유 유산균 발효유 섭취가 혈압에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Supplementation of Fermented Milk Containing Active Peptides(IPP, VPP) in Accordance with Medical Nutrition Therapy in Pre- and Hypertension Subjects)

  • 본 연구는 2006년 1월부터 2007년 5월까지 수축기/이완기 혈압이 120/80 mmHg이상인 고혈압 전단계 및 본태성 고혈압 환자 43명 (대조군 21명, 시험군 23명)을 대상으로 12주간의 의학 영양 치료와 병행하여 생리활성 펩타이드가 함유된 유산균 발효유 섭취가 혈압에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 본 연구 대상자의 평균 연령은 대조군이 $47.8{\pm}12.9$세, 시험군은 $49.9{\pm}11.9$세였으며, 연구 시작 시 혈압은 각 군에서 수축기/이완기 혈압이 $135.4{\pm}8.8/85.0{\pm}6.9$, $135.7{\pm}7.4/88.0{\pm}5.5\;mmHg$로 군 간의 차이가 없었다. 2. 식이 섭취 조사 결과, 연구 12주 후 대조군, 시험군 모두 열량, 단백질, 지질, 콜레스테롤, 나트륨의 섭취가 유의적으로 감소하였다(p<0.05). 칼슘과 칼륨의 섭취는 시험군에서만 유의적으로 증가하였으며, 다른 영양소의 섭취는 군 간에는 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 3. 연구 기간 동안 수축기 혈압은 대조군과 시험군 모두 연구 4주 후부터 유의적인 감소를 보였으며, 연구 12주까지 두 군 모두에서 유의적으로 감소하였다(p<0.05). 이완기 혈압은 시험군에서만 연구 4주 후부터 유의적으로 감소하였다(p<0.05). 결론적으로, 고혈압 전단계 및 고혈압 환자에게 12주간의 의학 영양 치료와 함께 유산균 발효유의 섭취는 총열량, 지방, 콜레스테롤, 나트륨의 섭취를 감소시켰고 칼슘 및 칼륨의 섭취를 증가시켰으며 수축기와 이완기 혈압을 유의적으로 감소시켰다. 따라서 생리활성 펩타이드가 함유된 유산균 발효유를 의학영양치료와 병행하여 섭취할 경우, 수축기 혈압감소뿐만 아니라 이완기 혈압 감소 모두에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 기대한다.

A Comparative Study of the Iron Nutritional Status of Female College Women according to Bone Mineral Density

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between nutritional status of iron and bone minernl density in premenopausal women. In the study, we classified the subjects into osteopenia (-2.5-I, n=29) groups according to their lumbar spine bone mineral density. Anthropometric measurements, dietary intake analysis and blood biochemistry measurements were performed on the subjects. The average ages of those in the osteopenia and normal groups were 22.2 yrs and 23.0 yrs, respectively, with no significant difference. The average body mass index (p<0.05) of those in the osteopenia group (19.6) was significantly lower than that of the normal group (21.3). The mean protein intake of those in the osteopenia group was significantly lower than that (p<0.05) the subjects in the normal group. The osteopenia group consumed a significantly lower amount of iron (p<0.05) and non-heme iron (p<0.05) compared to the normal group. The intakes of total food, vegetables and milk of those in the osteopenia group were significantly lower than those of the subjects in the normal group. The serum ferritin (p<0.001) level of those in the osteopenia group was significantly lower than those of the subjects in the normal group. In conclusion, a balance of iron status may be helpful in the prevention of bone mass loss in premenopausal young women.

여대생의 골밀도와 영향 요인에 관한 연구 (Bone Mineral Density and Factors Affecting in Female College Students)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to assess the relationships among bone mineral density, dietary habits, life styles and anthropometric measurements in young women. Subjects included 229 female college students in Seoul and Kyunggi province. Method: The subjects were asked about dietary habits and life styles using questionnaire. A sampel of 229 young women was assessed anthropometric measurements and bone mineral density on calcaneous using quantitative ultrasound. Result: The percentages of the osteoporosis(T-score<-2.5), osteopenia(-2.5${\leq}$T-score<-1.0), and normal(T-score${\geq}$-1.0) groups were 1.75%, 13.53% and 84.71%, respectively. Weight, soft lean mass, and BMI were positively related with T-score and Z-score. But height was negative related with SOS(Speed of sounds). Conclusion: This study confirmed that one of the most effective ways to minimize bone mineral density less in young women is to maintain an adequate body weight, soft lean mass, and BMI. And the young women were recommended do not one-side eating, daily intakes of milk products, perform daily physical exercise, and do not drink coke or soft drinks for the bone health.

한국 성인의 시판 주식류 섭취 현황: 국민건강영양조사 2010~2014년 데이터를 중심으로 (Consumption Status of Commercial Staple Food in Korean Adults: Data from 2010~2014 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the nutrient intake status and factors affecting the consumption of commercial staple food for Korean adults using the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data from 2010 to 2014. As a result of analyzing the frequency of consumption of commercial staple food, in 27.578 subjects, 75.5% of them did not eat it once a day, 21.7% of the subjects consumed once a day, and more than two times showed 2.8%. According to the results of age, the higher the age, the higher the rate of not consuming commercial staple food, and the lower the age, the higher the rate of consumption of commercial staple food(p<0.0001). In addition, the rate of consumption of commercial staple food was higher in cities than in rural areas. The higher the education level, the higher the proportion of commercial staple food. The intake of rice, noodles, and bread increased significantly as the frequency of consumption of commercial staple foods increased. Protein, fat, riboflavin, and niacin showed significant differences with increasing frequency of commercial staple food in nutrient intakes(p<0.0001). As the number of commercial staple food increased, the intake of grains, egg products, milk and dairy products, beverages and other food groups increased and the consumption of vegetables decreased significantly.

Estimated dietary isoflavone intake among Korean adults

  • This study estimated the isoflavone intake level in Koreans using Food Frequency Questionnaire and analyzed related variables. The results showed that the average daily intake of isoflavone in adults was shown as 23.1 mg. The isoflavone intake level at 50 percentile was 16.9 mg ($0{\sim}90\;mg$), and 10% of adults took almost 50 mg of isoflavone a day and 10% took about 5 mg a day. The major food sources for isoflavone in Koreans were in the order of soybean, soybean paste, soy milk, soybean curd (tofu), and bean sprouts; the intake was different depending on age, educational background, occupation, economic standard, and family type. The result showed higher isoflavone intake levels in the group over 30 years old and the highest isoflavone intake in subjects working in farming/fishery, followed by housemakers. According to the differences by families the families with elderly members showed 50% higher isoflavone intake than young families with friends or siblings. Depending on related ecological variables, therefore, various nutrition education programs should be developed for a variety of intakes of soybean foods, along with easy and simple cooking methods as parts of continuous research.

대구지역 주민들의 식행동과 일부 건강상태 지표와의 관련성(I) - 주부들의 식행동과 비만정도를 중심으로 - (Dietary Behavior in Relation to Health Indicators of Residents in Daegu(I) - Focused on Dietary Behaviors and Obesity of Housewives -)

  • This study was intended to collect the baseline information on dietary behavior of adults to develop nutrition education program in the context of health promotion at community level. Nutrients intake of 135 housewives were assessed by 24 hour recall methods. Also food habits, nutrition knowledge and attitude were investigated by self-administered questionnaires. Our results indicated dietary intake of calcium and vitamin $B_2$ were insufficient when they were compared to Korean recommended dietary allowances(RDA). Among five food groups, intakes of milk and dairy product was inadequate as compared to the recommended amount. When we compared the fatness indices to self-evaluated meal problems, overeating and speedy eating were significantly related to fatness indices. Fatness indices such as relative body weight(RBW) and body mass index(BMI) were significantly higher in the subjects who self-evaluated their unsound food behavior as overeating. However, there were no significant differences of food habit score and nutrition knowledge among groups classified by fatness or meal problem. Body fat ratio, frequencies of night snack and skipping meal significantly increased with age. Food habit score was positively related to health-concerned attitude and active attitude toward change. We concluded that nutrition education program for housewives should include detailed strategies to modify unsound food behaviors for healthy weight.

가공식품의 영양강화 현황과 제 외국의 영양강화 정책 (Current Status of Nutrient Fortification in Processed Foods and Food Fortification Policies in Other Countries)

  • Nutrition fortification of processed foods with microelements is a popular practice in many countries to improve nutritional status of target population. In this study the current food fortification in Korea was evaluated and the regulations and guidelines for food fortification in other countries were presented. Most commonly added nutrients were calcium, vit.C, fiber, vit.Bs and iron. The level of fortified nutrients and the vehicle foods were variable. vit.C and fiber appeared to be overfortified in some foods and the necessity of fortification of these nutrients needs to be examined since the intakes of these elements appears to meet the RDA. Most of other nutrients such as vit.A, vit. $B_1$, vit. $B_2$, and iron were added at the level of 10~25% RDA per serving size. The vehicle foods for fortification were snacks, milk, ramyun, breakfast cereal, juices, candies and ready-to-eat retort pouch foods but not rice which is a staple food in Korea. The guideline and regulation for food fortification is required to ensure safe and proper supplementation of needed nutrients in processed foods.

농촌지역 성인 여성들의 혈청 지질 수준에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 연구 (Some Factors Affecting Serum Lipid of Korean Rural Women)

  • Dietary and other factors affecting serum lipid levels of 103 rural women aged 30-76 years were assessed. Data for dietary intakes were obtained by 24-hour recall method. Body weight, height and blood pressure were measured and BMI was calculated from the anthropometric data. Serum samples were collected and analyzed for TG and lipoprotein fractions. Relation of the factors with serum lipid concentration was analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficient(r). The results were summarized as follows: The weight, hight and BMI of the subjects were 56.8kg, 152.4cm and 24.5k/==, respectively. 31.8% of the subjects under 50 years of age($\leq$49yr group) and 61.0% of the subjects from 50 years up(==50yr group) were classified as hyperlipidemia. Most of the subjects had normal blood pressure but 8.5% were hypertensive. Total food intake of hyperlipidemic subjects was more than those of normal subjects in both age groups. Nutrients intake also tended to be higher in hyperlipidemic subjects of $\geq$50yr group. Intake of some foods like nuts, milk, or meat affected serum lipid profile even though the effects was somewhat different between two age groups. Body weight was positively related with serum TG and VLDL-cholesterol in $\leq$49yr group, and body weight as well as height and BMI affected serum lipid level in $\geq$50yr group. In summarization, it appeared that hyperlipidemia was a serious health problem in rural women. Hypertriglyceridemia due to sharp increase after 50 years old was remarkable and further research should be performed to determine the related factors in the near future.

한국 여성의 연령별 식품 및 영양소 섭취량 조사 (A Survey of Food and Nutrient Intakes of Korean Women by Age Groups)

  • To study the level of change in food and nutrient intake among different age groups, a dietary survey using the 24-hour recall method was conducted among 80 female elementary school children, 84 high school students, 100 adults from 25 to 35 years old and 120 elderly people over 60 years of age. The results of the study showed that plant food and total food intake were higher in adults and animal food intake was significantly higher in children. The percentage of plant food to total food intake was highest in the elderly and that of animal food to total food intake was highest in the children. The elderly consumed significantly less meat and poultry and more fish than the other groups. However, the children consumed significantly higher amounts of milk and dairy products. The elderly had the lowest Ca intake. Carbohydrate energy intake in the elderly was 70.3%, significantly higher than that for the other age groups. All of the age groups consumed a quantity of Ca below the Korean RDA and 77.5% of the elderly consumed an amount below 75% of the RDA. Nutrient adequacy ratio (NAR) of most nutrients was lowest in the elderly. Mean adequacy ratio (MAR), an index of overall dietary quality, was 0.88 for the children, 0.84 for the adolescents, 0.80 for the adults, and 0.70 for the elderly. Therefore, the results show that food and nutrient intake changes with advancing age, and the overall quality of the diet of elderly people is lower than that for the other age groups.
