  • In this paper, for the systematic software evaluation and selection objective, we first discussed the systems software which is distinctly different from applications oriented software in source, concept and use. We suggested the systematic procedures for the effective software evaluation and selection by analyzing categories of commercially available proprietary software, sources of information for software selection, request for information, request for proposal, user surveys as an aid to evaluation and evaluation of responses to the RFP.

  • The hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane(HNIW) is a polycyclic caged nitramine oxidizer. For most existing weapons systems, the most critical ingredient in explosive and propellant applications is the oxidizer, HNIW, with its increase in performance output and energy capabilities for future in explosive and propellant systems. Two new polyacylhexaazaisowurtzitanes were synthesized. Pentaacetylhexaaza-isowurtzitane(PAIW) or pentaacetylformylhexaazaisowurtzitane(PAFIW) can be a precursor in the preparation of HNIW, recently developed highly energetic material.

  • This study is concerned with the problem of routing vehicles stationed at a central depot to supply customers with known demands, in such a way as to minimize the total distance travelled. The problem is referred to as the vehicle routing problem and is a generalization of the multiple traveling salesmen problem that has many practical applications. A branch-and-bound algorithm for the exact solution of the vehicle routing problem is presented. The algorithm finds the optimal number of vehicles as well as the minimum distance routes. A numerical example is given.

  • Most O4I Systems are considered as one of the major system in future Information Warfare. However, it is difficult to measure the effectiveness of force improvement when C4I System is used with other weapon systems, quantitatively. In this Paper, we propose a quantitative method to evaluate the force improvement effectiveness of KNTDS(Korea Naval Tactical Data System). This method utilized the Lanchester's equations and its applications. We also showed a numerical example based on a given scenario in a sea battle and the ASP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) Method is applied to verify its results.

  • This paper gives an overview on the some potential applications and key technologies of biomimetic underwater robot for naval operations. Unlike most manned underwater naval systems, biomimetic underwater robots can be especially useful in near-land or harbour areas due to their ability to operate in shallow water effectively. Biomimetic underwater robot provide advantages in reaching locations that would be difficult or too dangerous for a manned vehicle to reach, as well as providing a level of autonomy that can remove the requirement for dedicated human operator support. Using multiple or schools of underwater robots would provide increased flexibility for navigation, communication and surveillance ability. And it alleviate some of the restrictions associated with speed and endurance design constraints.

  • GPS is widely used in various applications since GPS receivers are capable of measuring precise position and velocity in any weather condition for a relatively low cost. However, GPS requires more than four simultaneously visible GPS satellites for optimal performance. In high-motion, high-attitude-changing applications, there exist some situations where less than four satellites are visible or where the dilution of precision (DOP) is high. In this paper, we propose a simulation algorithm that predicts the performance of GPS navigation according to changes in vehicle attitude. We have compared simulation results with experimental results, where simulation results of the proposed algorithm are shown to closely match actual experimental data. This algorithm could be used to predict GPS navigational performance and to determine optimal GPS antenna position.

  • This work describes an applications of CEP(Capability Evolution Process) in the SoS(Systems of Systems) environment. SoS is a set of systems that results when independent systems are integrated into a larger systems that delivers unique capability. CEP is focused on system performance and integration, interoperability requirement between systems within a force package. This work analyzes CEP and applies to OO joint marinetime operation. From these results, the possiblity of the CEP application in the SoS environment is presented.

  • The network for proving information exchange function in distributed system is interconnected among other networks which are in the state of independent construction and operation. However, due to various network protocols and distributed applications, Problems occurred in the area of network interconnectivity and interoperability of distributed applications in internetworking which should provide a good interoperability. This paper proposed an improved method for finding route which has the highest interworkability between end-systems using the interrelationship of network protocol. An algorithm and method of constructing a virtual network which is suitable for required distributed application are also proposed in this research.

  • POWER PC series are common to the Central Processing Unit for Military Single Board Computer. Among them, G4 group, which contains the 74xx series supported by Freescale manufacturer is mainly used in the Military applications. We focus on the Interface between memory and controller. PCB stacking method, component routing, impedance matching and harsh environment for Military spec are the main constraints for implementation. Also, we developed memory as a module for the consideration of Military environments. The overall type of SBC should be designed by the form of 6U VME or 3U VME.
