A design of supervisory control system for a multi-robot system (다중로봇을 휘한 관리제어 시스템의 설계)

  • This paper presents a design experience of a control language for coordination of a multi-robot system. To effectively program job commands, a Petrinet-type Graphical Robot Language(PGRL) is proposed, where some functions, such as concurrency and synchronization, for coordination among tasks can be easily programmed.In our system, the proposed task commands of PGRL are implemented by employing formal model languages, which are composed of three modules, sensory, data handling, and action module. It is expected that by using our proposed PGRL and formal languages, one can easily describe a job or task, and hence can effectively operate a complex real-time and concurrent system. The control system is being implemented by using VME-based 32-bit microprocessor boards for supervisory, each module controller(arm, hand, leg, sensor data processing module) and a real time multi-tasking operating system(VxWorks).   • In maned airport, crews may have risks as they manage passenger control system in IPMS in damage situations such as fire in a airport. So the application of unmanned autonomous system can reduce the number of boarding crews and attribute to safe airplane transportation. PBBC model can be used to obtain control strategy, and airplane and enhance operators' skill by simulating the airport. The paper suggests an intelligent system of the pbbc control using microprocessor in integrated platform management system which can take measures against passenger situation of a airplane excluding unnecessary warnings with undamaged situations. The system here detected the passenger more accurately and adopted more appriate measures according to airplane status compared with conventional systems.

  • As vehicles are more intelligent for convenience and safety of drivers, the in-vehicle networking systems and smart modules are essential components for intelligent vehicles. However, for the smart module to widely apply to the IVN systems, two problems are considered as follows. Firstly, because it is very difficult that transducer manufacturers developed the smart module that supports the existing all IVN protocols, the smart module must be independent to the type of networking protocols. Secondly, when the smart module is exchanged due to its failure, it is necessary how the transducer is only exchanged without exchange of the microprocessor and network transceiver. This paper deals with the IEEE 1451 based smart module that describes the digital interface between a network transceiver and sensor module. Finally. efficiency of the IEEE 1451 based smart module was evaluated on the experimental model.

  • In this paper, in order to utilize new and renewable energy a grid-connected parasol-type solar power generation system is presented. The proposed power system combining with commercial electric power system is designed to meet the need fur maximum power consumption and parasols for the people staying at beach during hot summer. Solar electric power can be charged in rechargeable batteries during day time and used to provide charged electric power to loads like lamps and fans during night time, A battery charge-discharge controller is required for the good performance of batteries to be charged. The presented battery controller is designed based on high performance microprocessor for precise charge-discharge operations. An alarm circuit to give notice of battery exchange time and other convenient functions are installed in the system. We implemented the proposed solar power generation system at East Sea beach during peak summer season to verify its productivity and performance by experiments.

  • In this paper, recently, it is described to the piezoelectric transformer technology develops, because it was have to favorable characteristics such as electromagnetic-noise free, compact size, higher efficiency, and superior power density, flux linkage, noiseless, etc. its resonance frequency was used to output waveform of a sine wave. A rotor speed identification method of induction motor based on the theory of flux model reference adaptive system(FMRAS). The estimator execute the rotor speed identification so that the vector control of the induction motor may be achieved. The improved auxiliary variable of the model are introduced to perform accurate rotor speed estimation. The control system is composed of the PI controller for speed control and the current controller using space voltage vector PWM techniuqe and DC-DC converter. High speed calculation and processing for vector control is carried out by digital signal one chip microprocessor. Validity of the proposed control method is verified through simulation and experimental results.

  • Citrus fruit (Citrus unshiu Marc) were stored in the facillity controlled with a microprocessor-based storage controller, and the respiration rate and weight loss of fruits were measured with the infrared gas analyzer and the strain gauge load cell. The storage conditions and measuring intervals were set by the keyboard of personal computer. The interfacing cicuitry between the computer and Z-80 microprocerssor was built with peripheral Interfacing It chips 6821 and 8255. The data measured were saved to a data file for recording and further analysis. When the fresh and bruised fruits were subjected to the storage condition for 4 days at 20 C, the respiration rate of the fresh one showed a stable value of 3-5ml $CO_2/kg$ h throughout the storage period while the bruised one exihibited an abruptly increased rate after 50 hours. And the weight loss recorded about 5% during the storage.

  • In this paper, we developed a digital soldering station based on PID controller, which supply stable power by controlling the current of heater of soldering iron. The proposed system designed PID controller to converge quickly to the set up temperature by user, and regain the lost of heat by external factors quickly. PID controller, designed by Ziegler-Nichols' tuning method, decides triac's trigger timing using setting temperature and present temperature to control the phase of AC 24V power that supply to the heater. Also, we give the function that shows present temperature and setting temperature of iron, and working time by graphic LCD. And during the rest time, we decided the power saving and extension of iron tip by dropping to the optimal temperature. Two experiments had implemented in $25^{\circ}C$ laboratory to confirm the performance of proposed method. The first experiment took 12sec, 13sec, 16sec, 18sec, reaching to $200^{\circ}C$, $300^{\circ}C$, $400^{\circ}C$, $480^{\circ}C$ respectively which result showed shorten of rising time than previous method. In the loading experiment of $300^{\circ}C$, $400^{\circ}C$, $480^{\circ}C$ steady state showed temperature drop of $3.8^{\circ}C$, $4.1^{\circ}C$, $4.5^{\circ}C$ which result showed the low temperature deviation than previous method.

  • As vehicles become more intelligent for convenience and safety of drivers, the in-vehicle networking(IVN) systems and smart modules are essential components for intelligent vehicles. However, for wider application of smart modules and IVN's, the following two problems should be overcome. Firstly, because it is very difficult that transducer manufacturers developed the smart module that supports all the existing IVN protocols, the smart module must be independent of the type of networking protocols. Secondly, when the smart module needs to be replaced due to its failure, only the transducer should be replaced these without the replacement of the microprocessor and network transceiver. To solve these problems, this paper investigates the feasibility of an IEEE 1451 based smart module. More specifically, a smart module for DC motor control has been developed. The module has been evaluated for its delay caused by the IEEE 1451 architecture. In addition, the time required for transducer replacement has been measured.

Feed Rate Control for the Head-Feed Thresher (수급식탈곡기(穗給式脱穀機)의 공급율(供給率) 제어(制御)(II) -제어시스템 설계 및 시뮬레이션-)

  • This study was undertaken to develop the feed rate control system for the head feed thresher by making use of the microprocessor and to evaluate the response of the system to a various threshing conditions. The control unit was composed of one-board microcomputer. The speed of the wet-paddy feeding chain was controlled by dc moter with PI controller. It was used the adaptive control method to maintain the constant feed rate regardless of the fed rice varieties. The sliding type potentiometer was used as the feed rate sensor, which was attached on the sheaf-holding apparatus. The mathematical models of the system components were derived and computer simulation was developed for investigating the parameters affecting on control performance and for estimating the response of the system. A one-board microcomputer-based feed rate control system developed in this study was properly functioned and assessed as adequate for the feed rate control system of the head feed thresher. Based on the simulation for the bundle feed, it was anticipated that the lower setting value of the cylinder speed(RL) is to be set higher than the limiting operational speed. In addition, the higher setting value of the cylinder speed(RH) is to be set lower than the limiting cylinder speed for threshing. The computer simulation for the continuous spread feed showed that the lower the setting value of straw layer thickness(LL) was set, the shorter the correction time. However, if too low LL may be established, the feed rate could not reach to its desired rate.

  • The paper introduces a development result for displacement measurement system of multiple moving objects based on image processing technique. The image processing method adopts inertia moment theory for obtaining the centroid of the targets and basic processing algorithms of gray, binary, closing, labeling and etc. To get precise displacement measurement in spite of multiple moving targets, a CCD camera with zoom is used and the position of camera is changed by a pan/tilt system. The fiducial marks on the fixed positions are used as the sensing points for the image processing to recognize the position errors in directions of X -Y coordinates. The precise alignment device is pan /tilt of X - Y type and the pan/tilt is controlled by DC servomotors which are driven by 80c196kc microprocessor based controller. The centers of the fiducial marks are obtained by a inertia moment method. By applying the developed precise position control system for multiple targets, the displacement of multiple moving targets are detected automatically and are stored in the database system in a real time. By using database system and internet, displacement data can be confirmed at a great distance and analyzed. The developed system shows the effectiveness such that it realizes the precision about 0.12mm in the position control of X -Y coordinates.
