  • This paper presents the development or a keypad test system for the improvement or the working environment and productivity improvement using the microprocessor PIC16F877 Chip. In order to detect the fault of keypad products, the design of hardware and software is performed in this system. All controls of the system is implemented by the 8 bit one chip micro-controller PIC. This keypad test system can also recognizes the work process, the work result and the fault position of the keypad which is made by the method of a flexible printed circuit (FPC) and construct the database about test results using personal computer. The experimental results show the effective performance of the keypad test system.

Robust motion control of a flexible micro-actuator using $H_{\infty}$ control method

  • In this paper, robust motion control of a flexible micro-actuator is presented. The actuator is made of a bimorph piezoelectric high-polymer material (PVDF). No mathematical model system can exactly model a physical system such a flexible micro-actuator. For this reason we must be aware of how modeling errors might adversely affect the performance of a control system for such a model. The H method addresses a wide range of the control problems, combining the frequency and time domain approaches. The design is an optimal one in the sense of minimization of the maximum of the closed-loop transfer function. It includes colored measurement and process noise. It also addresses the issues of robustness due to model uncertainties, and is applicable to the, flexible micro-actuator control problem. Therefore, we adopt the H control problem to the robust motion control of the flexible micro-actuator. Theoretical and experimental results demonstrate the satisfactory performance and the effectiveness of the designed controller. the effectiveness of the designed controller.

  • In this paper, we propose a Micro Real-Time Control System (MRTCS) for decreasing the delay during interrupts processing and data transfer on sensor nodes. The MRTCS consists of a control, sensor nodes based on Controller Area Network (CAN) device. The control node was designed with Real Time Operating System (RTOS) on top of the small Micro Control Unit (sMCU). Sensor nodes have the CAN device without sMCU, which have multiple Digital Inputs, Outputs (DI/DO) and the CAN controller. We have evaluated with OCTAVE v3.6.4 from open source for system performance. Simulation results show that the system performance was increased through the delay reducing for interrupt processing and internal data transfer. We verify that a proposed MRTCS approach will be adapted to various real-time control system.

  • In this paper, we implemented total monitoring system in which LED light turned on only when user detected and LED light turned out only when user disappeared. This system is composed of two modules, one is HW board based on Micro Controller and the other is SW control system based on Web server. Micro controller board is based on ATMega2560 chip which is connected with Infra Red and Ultra sonic sensors. Web based monitoring system was designed can be used in smart device. The validity of this monitoring system was proved by integration test of two modules.

  • This paper presents a design of macro-micro system for high-speed mounting of micro-chips. A macro motion device is driven by DC servomotor and ball screw mechanism. To obtain fast response, a micro motion device utilizes a precision elector magnetic actuator In order to reduce peak impact force, We evaluate the design parameters that have an effect on it. And a characteristic of response is simulated using PID controller in velocity and force control.

  • In this study, the electric door lock using the password input system for security improvement was fabricated. The security has been improved by using the multiple micro process. The controller with solenoid valve has been designed indirect driving system for releasing the door lock system. Also, the self checkup system for improving the trustworthy was developed with two kinds of micro process. The results will be applied IC card system and fingerprint identification system for security improvement.

  • In this paper, we investigate and characterize the parallel processing of a hybrid system interfacing binary decision(BD) programmable controller with a microcomputer. The generation of analog signals and estimation of data, which can not properly be performed by the BD programmable controller alone, have been done by the the expanded controller utilizing BD/Micdro P.C. In addition, implementation of its hardware and software is considered.

  • A new Layered Manufacturing(LM) system, named PaperMill, is developed applying micro milling technology. A micro endmill(127 11m in diameter) is introduced as the cutter of build material. The selected build material for this system is an adhesive-coated paper roll which provides advantages such as good bonding between layers, machinability, and low material cost. A 3-axis CNC controller and three step-motors are used for the movement of X-Y-Z table of the system. For simplicity of the control of mechanism, the control system for feeding the paper roll is uncoupled from CNC controller. Two code converters are developed for the toolpath generation of the new LM system. The NC converter generates a set of NC codes for PaperMill using commercial CAM software while the SML converter generates an NC code from Quickslice's SML format. The NC codes generated from the converters consist of a series of profile data and trigger code for paper feeding. Two sample gears were fabricated to prove the concept of the system, which shown that the dimensional errors of the fabricated gears is under 3.4 percent.

  • A micro hole punching system was developed and micro holes of 100m in diameter were successfully made on brass sheets of loom in thickness. A micro punch made of tungsten carbide was designed to withstand the punch load, considering the buckling and the bending moment due to possible misalignment error. The punch was fabricated by the grinding process with diamond wheel. The die was designed considering the punch load and fabricated by micro electrodischarge machining process. In this system the stripper is designed to guide punch tip to minimize the possible misalignment. The punch was installed on a vertical stepper and the die was mounted on an X-Y translation unit. The precision motion controller controlled all motions of the micro hole punching system. In this study technical difficulties and solutions in the micro hole punching process were also discussed.
