생마늘과 무취마늘의 휘발성 향기 성분의 비교 (Comparison of Volatile Flavor Components between Fresh and Odorless Garlic)

  • An attempt was made in this study to analyze volatile flavor components of fresh and odorless garlic (Allium sativum L.), Essential oils in fresh garlic and odorless garlic were isolated by a simultaneous steam distillation and extraction(SDE) method using n-pentane/diethy ether as solvent. A total of 21 and 22 components were identified by GC/MS from the essential oils of fresh garlic and odorless garlic, respectively. Diallyl trisulfide, diallyl disulfide and methyl allyl disulfide were found to be major volatile flavor components in fresh garlic and odorless garlic. By the preparation of ordorless garlic, 77.5% of diallyl trisulfide, 15.0% of diallyl disulfde, 72% of methyl allyl disulfide, and 78.4% of allyl thiol components in fresh garlic were lost. Eleven compounds including 2-vinyl-4H-1,3-dithiin, eugenol and 2-methoxy-4-vinyl-phenol were identified in odorless garlic, but not m fresh garlic.

Chemical Constituents of Lathyrus davidii

  • From the MeOH extract of the whole plants of Lathyrus davidii (Fabaceae), thirteen constituents were isolated and identified as the flavonoids astragalin, isoquercitrin, nicotiflorin, and rutin, as the saponins soyasapogenol B 3-O-${\beta}$-D-glucuronopyranoside, azukisaponins II and V, soyasaponins II and V and as 4-O-${\beta}$-Dglucopyranosyl syringic acid, uracil and n-hexacosanol. Five saponins and 4-O-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranosyl syringic acid were isolated from the BuOH fraction as their methyl esters. Ombuoside (rutin 7,4'-di-O-methyl ether) was also isolated from the methylated BuOH-soluble fraction. However, no ombuoside was detected in the HPLC analysis of the nonmethylated BuOH fraction. Therefore, ombuoside is an artifact derived from methylation of rutin. All of these compounds were isolated for the first time from this plant.

Antioxidant Compounds from Distylium racemosum Leaves

  • The leaves of D. racemosum showed strong DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity and the order of the radical scavenging activity against DPPH radical is ethyl acetate (EtOAc) fraction>crude extracts>residue fraction>hexane fraction>ether fraction, under the experimental conditions. Since EtOAc fraction has highest antioxidative activity among these fractions, the isolation was performed from the EtOAc fraction of the leaves of D. racemosum and four phenolic compounds were isolated and identified as follows: methyl gallate, kaempferol, quercetin and quercitrin. The free radical scavenging activities of these compounds were 79.9%, 93.1%, 93.6% and 66.7% at 10 ㎍/ml, respectively. The IC50 of compound 1, compound 2, compound 3 and compound 4 were 6.1, 4.1, 3.6 and 6.5 ㎍/ml, respectively. These compounds have higher antioxidative activity compared with reference compounds, ascorbic acid (IC50 = 9.6 ㎍/ml).

Methoxy Polyoxyethylene Dodecanoate의 상거동과 세정성 (Phase Behavior and Detergency of Methoxy Polyoxyethylene Dodecanoate)

  • Methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoate류($C_{11}H_{23}COO(CH_2CH_2O)_nCH_3$)는 고체촉매를 이용하여 지방산 메틸에스테르에 에틸렌옥사이드를 부가시켜 얻어지는 비이온성 계면활성제의 일종이다. 이들은 지방알코올을 이용한 비이온성 계면활성제 polyoxyethylene dodecyl ether류($C_{12}H_{25}O(CH_2CH_2O)nH$)보다 경제성이 높은 이점을 가지고 있다. 이 연구는 이들 두 종류의 비이온성 계면활성제에 대하여 비이온성 계면활성제/물/오일의 3성분계에서 일어나는 상거동에 관련된 오일의 가용화량과 phase inversion temperature(PIT)에서의 계면장력 및 세정성을 비교하여 methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoate의 세제용 비이온성 계면활성제로서의 적용 가능성을 확인하기 위해 수행하였다. Methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoate는 3성분계의 상거동에서 hexadecane에 대해 10~18%의 오일가용화량을 나타내므로서 polyoxyethylene dodecyl ether보다 약 6%의 높은 가용화력을 보여주었다. 또한, 각각의 PIT 조건에서 methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoate는 0.0124~0.0176 dyne/cm, polyoxyethylene dodecyl ether는 0.0130~0.0163 dyne/cm의 계면장력을 나타내었고 세정력에 있어서는 methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoate는 82.1~83.2%, 그리고 polyoxyethylene dodecyl ether는 78.5~80.4%로 methoxy polyoxyethylene dodecanoate가 polyoxyethylene dodecyl ether에 비해 높은 세정성을 나타내었다. methoxy polyoxyethylene dode-canoate의 우수한 세정 성능은 polyoxyethylene dodecyl ether에 비해 다소 높은 오일가용화력과 이에 관련된 PIT에서의 계면장력 저하효과에 기인된 것으로 판단된다.

  • 이미지 센서 컬러 필터에 사용하기 위해 새로운 황색 방향족 이민 유도체가 설계되고 합성되었다. 합성된 화합물은 방향족 이민 그룹을 기반으로 한 화학 구조를 가지고 있다. 새로운 재료는 상업용 장치 제조 공정을 모방한 조건에서 광학적 및 열적 특성을 기반으로 평가되었다. 이들의 관련 성능을 비교한 결과, ((E)-3-methyl-4-((3-methyl-5-oxo-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4(5H)-ylidene) methyl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one (MOPMPO)은 industry에 중점적으로 사용되는 프로필렌 글리콜 모노메틸 에테르 아세테이트 용매에 대한 용해도가 0.5 wt%이고, 290 ℃의 높은 분해 온도를 갖는 이미지 센서 컬러 필터 소재로서 우수한 성능을 나타내었다. MOPMPO가 이미지 센서 색재의 황색 염료 첨가제로 사용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • N-type semi-conducting oxides such as $SnO_{2}$, ZnO, and $ZrO_{2}$ have been known for the detecting materials of inflammable or toxic gases. Of those materials, $SnO_{2}$-based sensors are well known as high sensitive materials to detect toxic gases. And the sensitivity is improved if catalysts are added. Detecting toxic gases, especially DMMP (di-methyl-methyl-phosphonate) and DPGME (Dipropylene glycol methyl ether), was performed by a mixture of Tin oxide ($SnO_{2}$) and Zirconia ($ZrO_{2}$). The films consist of each three different mass% of Zr (from 1 mass% to 5 mass%), and they were tested by XRD, SEM, TEM, BET. Nano-structure, pore and particle size was controlled to verify the sensor's sensing mechanism. The sensors was evaluated at five different degrees (from $200^{\circ}C$ to $400^{\circ}C$) and three different concentrations (from 500 ppb to 1500 ppb). The sensors had good sensitivity of both simulants, and high selectivity of DMMP.

Methyl Methacrylate의 Emulsion Polymerization에 關한 硏究 (A Study on the Emulsion Polymerization of Methyl Methacrylate)

  • With the selected emulsifiers for the emulsion polymerization of methyl methacrylate, the HLB of the emulsifier in the reaction system has been studied on the effect of the ratio of tetra sodium-N-(1,2-dicarboxy ethyl)-N-octadecyl sulfosuccinamate(Aerosol 22) to polyethylene glycol nonyl phenyl ether (Noigen EA 160), and also sodium lauryl sulfate(Quolac EX-UB), Disodium-N-octadecyl sulfosuccinamate (Aerosol 18) and Aerosol 22 as emulsifiers having various hydrophilic groups in the molecules have been studied. Results are as follows; 1) The viscosity of the emulsions and the molecular weight of the polymers have maximum values at a constant HLB value of emulsifiers, but their stabilities show minimum point at the value with the titration with the three kinds of mono, bi, tri-valent electrolytes. These results are agreed on the theory of Greth & Wilson in which the properties of polymer emulsions depend upon the HLB system of emulsifiers. 2) The viscosity of the emulsions and the molecular weights of the produced polymers increase more in the case of blending of Aerosol 22 to Noigen EA-160 than of the separate using. 3) The coagulation effects of the divalent electrolytes($ex,\;Ca^{++},\;Zn^{++}$) are contrast to the effects of monovalent($ex,\;Na^+$) and trivalent($ex,\;Al^{+++}$) in the emulsions with Aerosol 18 or Aerosol 22 which have more than two hydrophilic groups. It seems that the stability of the O/W emulsions by electrolytes is directly related to the parameters of surface physical chemistry such as surface geometry of surface chemical constitution of polymer particles.

Diethyleneglycol ditosylate, triethyleneglycol ditosylate, tetraethyleneglycol ditosylate는 NaOH존재하에서 diethyleneglycol, triethyleneglycol 그리고 tetraethyleneglycol과 p-toluenesulfonylchloride의 반응에 의해 합성하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 다중벽 탄소나노튜브(MWCNTs)를 질산과 황산의 혼산으로 산화시켜 표면에 카르복시기를 도입 후, $SOCl_2$와 1,4-butanediol을 사용하여 MWCNT-OH를 제조하였다. 제조된 MWCNT-OH는 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxylsilane(MPTMS)와 실란화 반응으로 methacrylate기가 도입된 MWCNT-MPTMS를 제조하였다. MWCNT-MPTMS와 methyl methacrylate(MMA)를 사용하여 유화중합법으로 MWCNT-MPTMS/PMMA 복합 입자를 제조하였다. 음이온 계면 활성제인 sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate(SDBS)를 사용하여 유화중합한 MWCNT-MPTMS/PMMA는 균일한 입도, 좁은 입도분포 및 계면에서의 화학결합으로 인하여 $T_g$가 순수 MWCNT를 사용하여 중합한 시료보다 $3.4^{\circ}C$ 높아짐을 확인하였다.

Determination of MTBE, TBA and BTEX in Soil by Headspace Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry

  • A headspace gas chromatographic mass spectrometric (GC-MS) assay method was developed for the simultaneous determination of methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), $tert$-butyl alcohol (TBA) and benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene (BTEX) in soil contaminated with gasoline. 2 g of soil sample were placed in a 10 mL headspace vial filled with 5 mL of phosphoric acid solution (pH 3) saturated with NaCl, and the solution was spiked with fluorobenzene as an internal standard and sealed with a cap. The vial was heated in a heating block for 40 min at $80^{\circ}C$. The detection limits of the assay were 0.08-0.12 ${\mu}g$/kg for the analytes. For five independent determinations at 10 and 50 ${\mu}g$/kg, the relative standard deviations were less than 10%. The method was used to analyze fifty six soil samples collected from various regions contaminated with gasoline in Korea. The developed method may be valuable for the monitoring of the analytes in soil.
