For the analysis of radiating noise problems in medium-to-high frequency ranges, the Energy Flow Boundary Element Method (EFBEM) was developed. EFBEM is the analysis technique that applies the Boundary Element Method (BEM) to Energy Flow Analysis (EFA). The fundamental solutions representing spherical wave property for radiating noise problems in open field and considering the free surface effect in underwater are developed. Also the directivity factor is developed to express wave's directivity patterns in medium-to-high frequency ranges. Indirect EFBEM by using fundamental solutions and fictitious source was applied to open field and underwater noise problems successfully. Through numerical applications, the acoustic energy density distributions due to vibration of a simple plate model and a sphere model were compared with those of commercial code, and the comparison showed good agreement in the level and pattern of the energy density distributions.

An efficient and reproducible plant regeneration system was established using transverse thin cell layers (tTCLs) in five cultivars of Brassjca juncea L. The effects of medium conditions, explant types (tTCLs of hypcotyl and cotyledonary petiole) on shoot regeneration were examined in this study. The maximum shoot regeneration frequency was obtained in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 4 mg/L 6-benzylaminopurine (BA) and 0.2 mg/L 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA). The hypocotyls derived tTCL explants had more shoot regeneration frequency (52%) than the cotyledonary petiole derived tTCL explants. Shoot induction was further improved by the addition of silver nitrate ($AgNO_3$) in the regeneration medium. A significant genotypic effect was also observed between the five cultivars; Rai-5 displayed higher capacities to produce shoots than other cultivars. Regenerated shoots were rooted on MS basal medium without PGRs which induced 90% of roots. The plantlets established in greenhouse conditions with 99% survival, flowered normally and set seeds. The regenerated plants were fertile and identical to source plants.
Tall fescue is commonly well-adapted for low maintain area because of its wear resistance, deep root system, and drought tolerances. Deep and infrequent irrigation refers to applying large amounts of irrigation, 1.3 to 2.5 cm or more, in a single irrigation event. Light and frequent irrigation is commonly used with small amounts of water, 0.3 to 0.6 cm, every day or every other day. N use for turfgrass management is often unnoticed for water management. The objective of this field study was to evaluate the effects of irrigation frequency and N rates for tall fescue growth. The three irrigation treatments were no irrigation (precipitation only), 0.5 cm applied every other day, and 1.8 cm applied once a week at one irrigation event. The nitrogen (N) treatments were the low, medium, and high N rate treatments. The low, medium, and high N treatments were applied over 2, 4, and 6 applications, respectively. If high main maintenance of tall fescue is not important and water source is limited, irrigation is not necessary and, the $9.8gNm^{-2}yr^{-1}$ of two applications can be recommended for tall fescue under the weather condition of the study.
Root cluster section culture, showing high efficient Protocorm-like body (PLB) formation capacity, were established in Doritaenopsis hybrids. Three types of root were obtained from excised shoots in 1/2MS medium containing different concentrations of NAA; \circled1normal roots, \circled2multiple roots and \circled3abnormal root clusters. Those were placed on 1/2MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/L thidiazuron for PLB regeneration. PLB regeneration rate was greater in root cluster section cultures (77.8%) compare to normal root tip cultures(30%). Number of PLBs regenerated from root cluster sections were counted over 11 per explant (5.3 per normal root tip).High frequency of PLB regeneration was achieved in root cluster section culture. This result can be used as an efficient method for clonal proliferation of Doritaenopsis hybrids.
Vibration experiments have been performed to observe the analytic characteristics of power How finite element method(PFFEM) for the reinforced cylindrical structure. For this, the vibration experimental results are compared with the numerical solutions obtained by PFFEM in medium-to-high frequency ranges. Input Power into the experimental structure is measured using the impedance head adhered to the exciter, and that input power is used for the vibration analysis. Using the developed PFFEM program(PFADS), the reinforced cylindrical structure modeled by beam and plate elements is analyzed, and very reliable results for PFFEM are obtained by the comparisons of the experimental results.
For the analysis of vibrational energy density and intensity of partitioned complex system structures in medium-to-high frequency ranges, A software based on the Power Flow Analysis(PFA) has been developed for the plate elements. The flexural, longitudinal and shear waves in plates are formulated and the joint element equations for multi-coupled plates are fully developed. Also, the wave transmission approach has been introduced to cover the energy transmission and reflection at the joint plate elements. To confirm the validity of the developed PFA software, the submarine-shaped complex structures are used for the analysis of vibration intensity and energy density.
To predict vibrational energy density and intensity of beam-plate coupled complex structures in medium-to-high frequency ranges, Power Flow Finite Element Method(PFFEM) programs for plate, beam and some coupled structural elements are developed. The flexural, longitudinal and shear waves in plates are formulated and the joint element equations for multi-couped plates are fully developed. Also the wave transmission approach has been introduced to cover the energy transmission and reflection at the joint elements. Using the developed PFFEM program, vibration analysis for 2300TEU container ship model is performed and here the model data for this program are obtained by converting fonner FE model for structural analysis. This program predicts successfully the vibrational energy density and intensity upto 8,000 Hz for the ship model with over 50,000 DOF.
An efficient protocol was established for high frequency somatic embryogenesis through a callus culture of Coelogyne cristata. The best frequency of callusing was obtained from a PLB segment (3-5 mm) cultured on MS medium supplemented with coconut water (CW) and a combination of both 3 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ of 2,4-D and BA. When the calli were sub-cultured on the MS medium without any PGRs, the average number of somatic embryos were higher than those with PGRs treatment. NAA is the most critical factor among PGRs, which dramatically hindered for the formation of a somatic embryo. The efficacy of the addition of coconut powder (CP) for somatic embryogenesis was almost the same in all treatments. However, the number of somatic embryos formed distinctly depended on age of the callus. The somatic embryos converted into healthy plants with well-developed shoots on the same medium. Plantlets showed the best responses of root and shoot growth when transferred to $\frac{1}{2}$ MS medium containing 1.5 $g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ of activated charcoal. All plants with above 3.0-cm-high were successfully acclimatized in the greenhouse.
To predict vibrational energy density and intensity of complex structures in medium-to-high frequency ranges, Power Flow Finite Element Method(PFFEM) programs for the plate, beam and some coupled structural elements are developed at present. The vibration energy density and intensity of foreign vehicle is predicted successfully with FE full model of 60,000 DOF using the developed PFFEM program.
