Credit Evaluation Model for Medical Venture Business By the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP를 이용한 의료기기 벤처기업의 신용평가모형)

  • This study presents the credit evaluation model for medical venture business which has been growing within the recent decade. We develop the model with two steps. At the first step, the evaluation indexes for each of the financial and non-financial factors of a firm are listed. At the second step, the weight for each index is measured by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process of Saaty(1980). The financial factors consists of 5 upper level indexes and 10 lower level indexes. The upper level indexes of the financial sector are profitability, safety, utilization, growth, and productivity. And the non-financial factors consists of 5 upper level indexes and 17 lower lever indexes. The upper level indexes in this sector are manager's competence, technical capability, marketability, business validity, and reliability. In order to get the empirical results for our model, we conduct the questionnaire survey targeting the credit assessment officers, who are practicing at the financial institutions or the credit guarantee company located within the Wonju Medical Devices Cluster.

A Study on Enhancing Managerial Performance of Business Incubators and Developing Differentiation Strategy (비즈니스 인큐베이터의 경영 성과 향상 및 차별화 전략 수립에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study provide the matching mechanism between startup and business incubator to enhance managerial performance of business incubator. In addition, we propose the differentiation strategy for business incubator based on the needs of startups. Methods: In order to carry out the research, we surveyed 216 startups who already have invested in venture capitals and angel investors and currently residing in business incubator and 30 venture capitals and angel investors. Based on survey results, we develop a business incubator capability table matching startup with business incubator. Results: Satisfaction and importance of the supporting programs varied depending on the startup experience and startup lifecycle. As a result, we recommended a R&D center for machinery/material, bio/medical and electric/electronics startups and individual office for ICT and knowledge service startups. In addition, we suggested a differentiation strategy to BI in university specialized for machinery/material, privately operated BI for electric/electronic, (local)government, R&D center and individual office for knowledge service respectively. Conclusion: In this study, business incubator capability table is applied to match startup with business incubator and it could be applied to evaluate the current status of business incubator. Furthermore, it will help to establish a future strategic direction for business incubator.

In addition, sales of small business and medium scale venture are vulnerable because it is difficult to expect developments in the situation. thus the government 3.0 based small business and medium scale venture will present ways to take advantage of big data.   • The Purpose of this study was to empirically investigate the effects of core competencies on the management performance of hospitals and the mediating roles of medical service orientation and internal customer orientation. The sample of this study was composed of 307 employees from 18 general hospitals in Incheon Metropolitan City and Bucheon City. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using structural equation modelling technique. This study found that core competencies had positive effects on the management performance of hospitals and that medical service orientation and internal customer orientation mediated the relationship between core competencies and the management performance of hospitals. The theoretical and practical implications of the results were discussed and the directions for future research were suggested.

  • This literature review explores artificial intelligence (AI) technology trends and IBM Watson health and medical references. This study explains how healthcare will be changed by the evolution of AI technology, and also summarizes key technologies in AI, specifically the technology of IBM Watson. We look at this issue from the perspective of 'information overload,' in that medical literature doubles every three years, with approximately 700,000 new scientific articles being published every year, in addition to the explosion of patient data. Estimates are also forecasting a shortage of oncologists, with the demand expected to grow by 42%. Due to this projected shortage, physicians won't likely be able to explore the best treatment options for patients in clinical trials. This issue can be addressed by the AI Watson motivation to solve healthcare industry issues. In addition, the Watson Oncology solution is reviewed from the end user interface point of view. This study also investigates global company platform business to explain how AI and machine learning technology are expanding in the market with use cases. It emphasizes ecosystem partner business models that can support startup and venture businesses including healthcare models. Finally, we identify a need for healthcare company partnerships to be reviewed from the aspect of solution transformation. AI and Watson will change a lot in the healthcare business. This study addresses what we need to prepare for AI, Cognitive Era those are understanding of AI innovation, Cloud Platform business, the importance of data sets, and needs for further enhancement in our knowledge base.

  • Most of people do not remind of 'Who is domestic medical device business?' A lot of people that Johnson and Johnson, GE and Philips and other foreign companies belong to medical device company. In fact, local enterprises small place based on world market. Local medical device industry's production has grown up rapidly last 10 years. Sales increased nearly 3 times from trillion and 500 billion KRW in 2004 to 4 trillion and 600 billion KRW in 2014. The production record constantly increased owing to safety and good quality of domestic medical devices. As many as 59% of medical devices made in Korea is exported to 198 countries in the world. Currently, medical device industry in the world has been given considerable attention. Cognition and awareness are very much low. Medical device industry, high income creating industry, is said to next generation industry to increase scale, and Korea does not follow world flow. The industry is given support from the government that is not enough. Korean enterprises have small scale among a lot of global enterprises. Being interested in development of medical devices, the author selected department of IT at college.

The Effect of Hospital Service Quality on Emotional Attachment, Perceived Value, and Customer Satisfaction (병원서비스품질이 감정적 애착과 지각된 가치 및 고객만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the effects of hospital service quality, emotional attachment, and perceived value on customer satisfaction. In particular, the purpose of this study was to understand the role of emotional attachment and perceived value in the relationship between hospital service quality and customer satisfaction. For this purpose, the results of structural equation model analysis with the data collected by conducting a survey on customers visiting small and medium-sized hospitals were as follows. First, hospital service quality felt by hospital customers had a significant effect on emotional attachment and customer satisfaction, but had no significant effect on perceived value. Second, the emotional attachment felt by customers who visited the hospital had a significant effect on perceived value and customer satisfaction. Third, emotional attachment felt by customers in the relationship between hospital service quality and customer satisfaction had a significant mediating effect. Through the above results, it was confirmed that the service quality felt by customers visiting the hospital leads to attachment to the doctor's competence and medical technology competency, which leads to an increase in customer satisfaction through this attachment. The implications obtained based on these results are as follows. In order for the service quality felt by the customers who visit the hospital to lead to customer satisfaction, above all, it is important to focus on the emotional attachment they can have and find a strategy to improve the service quality. In other words, it is necessary to establish excellent medical staff and medical technology so that hospital customers can have high confidence in the competence of doctors and medical technology, and establish a public relations strategy that can effectively display these competences. Through these efforts, hospital customers will feel a strong attachment to doctors and medical technology, which will increase their satisfaction with the hospital.

A study of Clinical DW for utilizing analysis of medical treatment information (진료정보 분석 활용을 위한 Clinical DW에 관한 연구)

  • So far, DW(data warehouse) of hospital has been used as tool for analyzing patient-focused data. However, EMR(Electronic Medical Record) is established these days, so informal data which is record and video record could be useful to get some information for patient remedy, not as DW data. This study claims that need of establishing treatment-focused DW, not for hospital administration-focused DW which has been used lots of hospital DW. Also we discussed how CDW can be applied for real medication situation. At last, we deduct a relation past record of sick and wounded patient as Thesaurus searching method by real hospital data for establishing base of early-treatment system.

  • Nonlinear pricing abounds in practice because it is a potentially powerful pricing method to explore consumer surplus. The various forms of nonlinear pricing are feasible within a given industry. In this context, it is important for manufacturers and retailers to understand which nonlinear pricing scheme is appropriate to apply in their specific situation and which nonlinear pricing schedule is the most profitable in their market situation. Although the merits of nonlinear pricing are well documented, the attempt to apply nonlinear pricing in medical service has been relatively rare. The researcher aims to try to full this gap by applying a practice-oriented simulation model to health examination data. We compare the sales volumes among nonlinear pricing scheme such as n-block tariff, two-part tariff, and uniform pricing. We found that n-block tariff outperforms two-part tariff and uniform pricing.
