  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of family-of-origin, personal and spousal characteristics, mediated by communication and problem-solving behavior, on marital quality and stability. On the basis of previous literature, the theoretical model was specified, estimated, and evaluated for adequacy of statistical fit for samples of 214 married women. Although the initial model was not supported by data, the revised model fitted the data adequately. Results of structural equation modeling indicated family-of-origin and communication behavior directly affected marital quality. However, the personal and spousal characteristics were linked with marital quality and stability only if they were mediated by communication and problemsolving behavior. Communication behavior was strongly related to marital quality and stability both directly and indirectly through problem-solving behavior. The model also showed marital quality can be an antecedent variable for marital stability. The findings of results is to generate more broad-minded thinking about how communication behavior, marital quality, and marital stability are interrelated.

  • The advent of the "un-tact 2.0 era," described as a "new normal non-face-to-face social relationship," accelerates the transformation of the living paradigm as a fully digital mediated social relationship. The emergence of these new forms of digital behaviors and mediated relationships significantly influences the industry prospect and consumers' individual lives. Advertising has played a decisive role in moving the formation forces of society, creating a dynamic flow of the capitalist system across races and geographical boundaries. Its role will become more fundamental in the physical contactless environment due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Accordingly, advertising has changed and modified its shape and meaning throughout history to adapt to the dynamic external environment. In this article, we illustrated four primary stages of the evolution in the advertising industry from simple advertising to convergence of advertising. Finally, we also identified the challenges of the present advertising industry and the paradigm transformation of "un-tact 2.0" with various related examples.

  • The objective of this study is to conduct basic research for the development of programs for improving university students' communication competence. As such, it seeks to determine if positive psychological capital can mediate the relationship between the geometric psychology type and communication competence. To that end, 321 Korean university students were surveyed using a questionnaire, and the data underwent scale reliability analysis, regression analysis, and path analysis. Regression analysis revealed the consistent regression results of variables, including geometric psychology type, positive psychological capital, and communication competence. Path analysis confirmed that positive psychological capital mediated the relationship between the geometric psychology type and communication competence, and the results suggested different patterns according to type of geometric psychology. The circle type mediated the sub-variable resilience vis-a-vis communication competence, and directly influenced the latter. The triangle type mediated the sub-factors of positive psychological capital - self-efficacy and resilience -vis-a-vis communication competence, and thus influencing the latter. The square type mediated the sub-factor of positive psychological capital - self-efficacy - vis-a-vis communication competence, and directly influenced the latter. The S type did not mediate positive psychological capital vis-a-vis communication competence, but directly influenced the latter. Thus, considering the above findings, in order to develop university students communication improvement programs, programs should be developed with the application of positive psychological capital considering geometric psychology type.

  • The rapid development of information technology has much influence on architectural design. Collaboration beyond time and space has been possible by networking the work environment and digital products. Thus, the virtual design studio on architectural design is getting more important than ever before. This research investigates a virtual design studio methodology for effective collaboration. The building design process and the communication model are studied and possible modes of design collaboration are defined. This paper proposes an internet-based Virtual Reality(VR) communication tool as well as new design methodology that we call the 'Hybrid Design Methodology'. We expect that this design methodology will dramatically increase design feedbacks, and thus results in better design alternatives. There are two issues involved in developing the collaborative virtual design studio: 1) an intuitive interface that presents collaborative relations, and 2) three-dimensional computer-mediated communication tool using sketch as a modeling method. Further research issues identified at the end of the research include developing algorithms that translate mapping images to polygons for the drafting phase in the design process.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between parenting attitudes and martial intimacy and was to examine the mediating effect of marital communication in order to provide effective help to improve marital intimacy of middle-aged married women who have difficulty in marital relationship. Method: The subjects of this study were 229 married women aged 40-59. Statistical analysis of this study was performed using the SPSS 18.0 program. Results: The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, Pearson 's correlation analysis was conducted to investigate the relationship between parenting attitude, marital intimacy, and marital communication and the results were statistically significant. Second, the three - step hierarchical regression analysis proposed by Baron and Kenny (1986) was conducted to examine the mediating effect of marital communication on the relationship between parenting attitudes and marital intimacy, it was confirmed that marital communication was partially mediated between parenting attitudes and marital intimacy. Conclusion: This study is meaningful in that it was confirmed that marital communication was partially mediated between parenting attitudes and marital intimacy.

  • Among various types of creativity, team creativity has been always receiving attention from both practitioners and researchers because most of works are done in a team format in organizations. Therefore, it would be the best way for corporate performance to increase when team creativity is managed carefully to increase in a steadfast way. Though there are lots of ways to grow team creativity, this study explores the issue of increasing the team creativity by adopting CMC (computer-mediated communication) and exploration and exploitation, which were studied separately, but never analyzed together in the same research framework. Experiments to prove the validity of the research questions are based on ABM (Agent-Based Modeling) simulation. Netlogo language was adopted to build a prototype engine for the simulation engine. Experiment results revealed that in the short-term, both broad CMC mode with high exploration and exploitation, and local CMC mode with high exploration and exploitation result in higher team creativity than other types of combination. However, in the long run, broad CMC mode yields higher team creativity level than local CMC mode.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of online ballet community-based teacher-parent computer-mediated communication (CMC) on four achievement goals of ballet students. We used a randomized post-test only control group design. In order to test whether teacher-parent CMC has a positive impact on the improvement of achievement goals, multivariate analysis of covariance were performed with the ages of ballet students as the covariates. Teacher-parent CMC had significant effects on achievement goals. The mastery-approach goals of the experimental group were significantly higher than of the control group. In contrast, the performance-avoidance goals of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group. There were no differences between the two groups in mastery-avoidance and performance-approach goals. Above all, this study is significant because the focus was placed on the inter-relationship between the two settings of school and family in regard to ballet student improvement, rather than on one setting only.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating role of attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control on the relationships between past behavior and customers' intention to engage in negative word-of-mouth communication of dissatisfaction responses. Results of the study demonstrated that the inclusion of past behavior improved the predictability of the negative word-of-mouth communication of dissatisfaction response intentions. Furthermore, the mediating analyses indicated that the influence of past behavior was mediated by the mediator. In the contests of negative word-of-mouth communication, the effect of past behavior on intention was partially mediated by attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control.

  • In this paper, we have studied the technical contribution of internet as a computer mediated communication(CMC) tool for collection management. A new communication process is appearing due to the development of information technology and telecommunications technology which enable users to have an access to information without the help of librarian. Also, internet makes collection management possible in the absence of vendors. This study found out that internet reinforces the traditional functions of collection management and enables librarians to better perform their roles. The future library manager should become actively involved in the development of technology in order to manage resources of internet focusing on the needs of user. Also, we have concluded that collection management should be modernized and transformed with its emphasis on the new evaluation method and assessment of quality when offering resources of internet in the communication process using computers.
