This study attempts to explain how communication technology impacts global creative trends. We explore global creative trends based on award-winning creative topics presented at the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. After analyzing award-winning topics, five main creative trends were selected with the keywords: technology, story-telling, social media, causes, and humor. The 2016 Cannes Lions Festival demonstrated that technology (i.e., virtual reality, artificial intelligence) has expanded the limits of creativity. Story-telling is still considered to be effective for raising audience attention. Social media enhances consumer engagement while nurturing future consumer relationships. Supporting social causes allows companies to garner goodwill from the public. Humor is powerful when it appropriately appeals to both products and customers.
Social media has emerged as a major hub of engagement between brands and consumers in recent years, and allows user-generated content to serve as a powerful means of encouraging communication between the sides. However, it is challenging to negotiate user-generated content owing to its lack of structure and the enormous amount generated. This study focuses on the hashtag, a metadata tag that reflects customers' brand perception through social media platforms. Online users share their knowledge and impressions using a wide variety of hashtags. We examine hashtags that co-occur with particular branded hashtags on the social media platform, Instagram, to derive insights about brand perception. We apply text mining technology and network analysis to identify the perceptions of brand images among consumers on the site, where this helps distinguish among the diverse personalities of the brands. This study contributes to highlighting the value of hashtags in constructing brand personality in the context of online marketing.

Interactive media is a method of communication in which the output from the media comes from the input of the users. The interactive media lets the user go back with the media. Interactive media works with the user's participation. The media still has the same purpose but the user's input adds the interaction and brings interesting features to the system for a better enjoyment. We need a digital content using a dynamic motion and gesture of the mobile device. We made an authoring tool for content producers to easily create interactive content. We have tried to take advantage of the interaction by using a touch screen and a gravity sensor of the mobile device. This interaction may lead to allow the user to participate in the content, it can be used as a key device to assist in engagement. Furthermore, our authoring tool can be applied to various fields of publishing content.
The use of new technology greatly shapes the marketing strategies used by companies to engage their consumers. Among these new technologies, social media is used to reach out to the organization's audience online. One of the most popular social media channels to date is the microblogging platform Twitter. With 500 million tweets sent on average daily, the microblogging platform is definitely a rich source of data for researchers, and a lucrative marketing medium for companies. Nonetheless, one of the challenges for companies in developing an effective Twitter campaign is the limited theoretical and empirical evidence on the proper organizational usage of Twitter despite its potential advantages for a firm's external communications. The current study aims to provide empirical evidence on how firms can utilize Twitter effectively in their marketing communications using the association between brand personality and brand engagement that several branding researchers propose. The study extends Aaker's previous empirical work on brand personality by applying the Brand Personality Scale to explore whether Twitter brand communities convey distinctive brand personalities online and its influence on the communities' level or intensity of consumer engagement and sentiment quality. Moreover, the moderating effect of the product involvement construct in consumer engagement is also measured. By collecting data for a period of eight weeks using the publicly available Twitter application programming interface (API) from 23 accounts of Twitter-verified business-to-consumer (B2C) brands, we analyze the validity of the paper's hypothesis by using computerized content analysis and opinion mining. The study is the first to compare Twitter marketing across organizations using the brand personality concept. It demonstrates a potential basis for Twitter strategies and discusses the benefits of these strategies, thus providing a framework of analysis for Twitter practice and strategic direction for companies developing their use of Twitter to communicate with their followers on this social media platform. This study has four specific research objectives. The first objective is to examine the applicability of brand personality dimensions used in marketing research to online brand communities on Twitter. The second is to establish a connection between the congruence of offline and online brand personalities in building a successful social media brand community. Third, we test the moderating effect of product involvement in the effect of brand personality on brand community engagement. Lastly, we investigate the sentiment quality of consumer messages to the firms that succeed in communicating their brands' personalities on Twitter.
The purpose of this study was to investigate perception of media characteristics inorder to provide a theoretical background for the media mix strategy. Considering the qualitative-vale of each medium, this study conducted a survey consisting of 60 academic and advertising industry experts to examine how they perceive and evaluate the characteristics of TV, radio, newspaper, OOH, Internet, mobile, and digital signage in terms of media effectiveness. The results, first, show that 'media engagement', 'effective reach', and 'behavioral targeting' are three most important indices to assess the media effectiveness. Second, the Internet was best evaluated in its various aspects according to the MAIX model, which gauges the effectiveness of each advertising medium. The study also proved that each advertising medium has unique advantages so that each medium should adopt a strategic positioning to differentiate it from other media. As such, this study provides meaningful evidences to understand the various characteristics and competitive value of advertising media and useful guidelines for media planning.
With the development of Internet and mobile technology and the spread of social media, a large amount of information is being generated and distributed online. Some of them are useful information for the public, but others are misleading information. The misleading information, so-called 'fake news', has been causing great harm to our society in recent years. Since the global spread of COVID-19 in 2020, much of fake news has been distributed online. Unlike other fake news, fake news related to COVID-19 can threaten people's health and even their lives. Therefore, intelligent technology that automatically detects and prevents fake news related to COVID-19 is a meaningful research topic to improve social health. Fake news related to COVID-19 has spread rapidly through social media, however, there have been few studies in Korea that proposed intelligent fake news detection using the information about how the fake news spreads through social media. Under this background, we propose a novel model that uses Graph2vec, one of the graph embedding methods, to effectively detect fake news related to COVID-19. The mainstream approaches of fake news detection have focused on news content, i.e., characteristics of the text, but the proposed model in this study can exploit information transmission relationships in social engagement networks when detecting fake news related to COVID-19. Experiments using a real-world data set have shown that our proposed model outperforms traditional models from the perspectives of prediction accuracy.

A 5G is 20 times faster than 4G. It also has hyper-connectivity, low latency merit and boundless potentials for medical education, transportation, entertainment and so on. In accordance with this, it is time to quickly look over on the utilization plan for 5G and sensible media in dance field, deal with the issue and its utilization. First of all, this study will review potential of 5G and sensible media in dance and its development plan. It seems like dance is able to communicate in a three-dimensional way. Utilizing sensible media can contribute to inform people of dance, and increase fun and interest which will make three-dimensional mutual communication. Also, in 5G environment, one can select whatever one wants in his or her viewpoint when utilizing sensible media such as VR, AR, hologram and so on. Supposing in a case of dancers and judges, it is possible for them to hire their own style of dancers in their countries. So, both the dancer and the judges have the positive merits. Third, streaming is possible without any installation, buffering is reduced. At the same time high-definition of media is allowed. This allowed collaborated performance of celebrities in dance and it also increased concentration and engagement. Dance field should acknowledge 5G sensible media, look for systemic and detailed method and disseminate and spread professional training and performance. In dance, testing fast developing sensible media due to 5G network, produce systemic dance training environment with various try is required and an effort for the performance situations in which advanced 5G sensible media is used.
As the use of virtual environment for decision-making interior or architectural design has been increasingly broaden, the choice of media form-physical, objective properties of a display medium-became and important issue to take into consideration. This research deals with the effects and differences between two types of media for a virtual environment; wall projection screen(120") and PC monitor(17"). In addition, efficient adoption of the two media forms was also proposed in this research. A total of 90 subjects participated in pre-designed three experimental groups(A group: experiment with a wall projection screen, B group: experiment with PC monitor, C group: both) and answer the seating preferences, the presence inventory, and the decision confidence using a simulated virtual restaurant environment. The results are as follows: (1) seating preferences for the tables located in frequent traffic area and near other spaces such as restroom and th kitchen are significantly different by the media form. While there is no significant difference found in seating preferences for most tables except high traffic areas near entrances between the two media. This result demonstrates the effects of media type or screen size on user perception for the areas near structural or interior design elements. (2) The presence measure in this research consist of in this research consist of four factors: 'spatial presence,' 'object presence,' 'positive effects,' and 'the factor of negative effects. 'The mean values of the items involving engagement or interaction in the spatial presence factor and the object presence factor are significantly different by the media form. A higher sense of presence of presence was observed in the wall projection screen. (3) PC monitor condition was shown to provide a higher level of decision confidence. Based on the research finding, conclusions and implications are discussed.
Background and objective: Instagram, an image-based social media, is being used as an important outlet for the communication and place marketing of public spaces. The purpose of this paper was to analyze how types of place-based content affect user reactions (Likes and Comments) on Instagram in order to provide basic data on the operation and utilization of social media by public places such as botanical gardens and arboretums. Methods: A total of 850 posts uploaded to the Instagram account of Kew Gardens from November 6, 2014 to July 3, 2020 were classified using 14 subject codes. Multiple regression analysis was performed to evaluate the user's reaction between the dependent variables ("Likes", "Comments") and the independent variables (14 subject codes). Results: The findings showed that user reactions appear to differ depending on the typology of the content, and "Likes" and "Comments" were presented in independent behavioral reactions. In particular, "close-ups of plants (botanic, macro)," "plant colony (botanic, wide)," "place-specific landscape (building, landscape)," "anniversary" and "information" showed positive impacts on both "Likes" and "Comments"which could lead to electronic word-of-mouth and content sharing. Conclusion: Based on these findings, it can be argued that the typology of a botanical garden's content can be used to determine factors that affect the immediate reactions and enhance engagement with users.
Astronomy is a popular topic for the public in term of astronomical phenomenon such as occultations, solar and lunar eclipses or meteor showers. In term of education, astronomy also is popular as one of the world Science Olympiads. Social media, as the new trend in communicating and connecting people, plays a significant role in increasing the size of the astronomy community. Beyond IYA 2009, more and more astronomy activities have been done in many places in Indonesia. New astronomy communities have been formed in several cities and public engagement is also high in social media especially on Facebook and Twitter. In this paper, we will discuss the lesson learned from astronomy outreach achievements in Indonesia and the need for citizen science projects as a distance learning tool for the public as part of astronomy development in Indonesia. We argue and propose that this project will be also important up to a regional scope.
