  • We demonstrate small-scale high-T$_c$ superconductor RSFQ(Rapid Single Flux Quantum) circuits using multilayer bicrystal technology. An RSFQ balanced comparator is demonstrated with good current resolution, and its operating conditions are discussed in some detail. A single-loop delta-sigma modulator is realized adding a feedback loop to the comparator. The effect of the feedback is confirmed by dc measurement and simulation. A design of an RSFQ toggle flip-flop with the same multilayer bicrystal technology is suggested.

  • This paper presents a half-rate current-integrating DFE receiver with sub-unit interval (sub-UI) inter-symbol interference (ISI) cancellation. By having a single additional DFE tap in each data path, the proposed DFE receiver can minimize BER degradation due to input pattern dependency and feedback tap latency problems in conventional current-integrating DFE receivers. The proposed DFE receiver was designed and fabricated in a 45 nm CMOS process, whose measurement results indicated that the BER bathtub width is increased from 0.235 UI to 0.315 UI (34% improvement) at $10^{-12}$ BER level.

  • This paper presents a new in-flight alignment method for an SDINS under large initial heading error. To handle large heading error, a new attitude error model is introduced. The attitude errors are divided into heading error and leveling errors using a newly defined horizontal frame. Some navigation error dynamic models are derived from the attitude error model for indirect feedback filtering of the in-flight alignment system. A Kalman filter with Position measurement is designed to estimate navigation errors as the indirect feedback filter Simulation results show that the proposed in-flight alignment method reduces the heading error very quickly from more than 40deg to about 5deg so as to apply a refined navigation filter. The total alignment process including leveling mode and navigation mode in addition to the proposed one allows large initial values not only in heading error but also in leveling errors.

  • A technique used to induce maximum oscillating voltage in the BJT Clapp VCO is presented. The technique finds the optimal feedback capacitance values resulting in the largest oscillating signal swing across the resonator at a given bias state and the VCO's center frequency. By doing so, the presented technique attains the lowest phase noise which the BJT Clapp VCO can have. An analysis of the measurement results of the fabricated oscillators has verified that the VCO with the optimal feedback capacitance values actually exhibits the lowest phase noise.

  • The parallel feedback dielectric resonator oscillator (DRO) which is applicable to satellite communications and broadcasting has been investigated. In the design of oscillator, the phase noise is important parameter. In this paper, The proposed oscillator has good phase noise level because it suppressed harmonics. Measurement show the fabricated oscillator is output power of about 9 dBm at fundamental frequency of 12.0 GHz and fundamental frequency suppression of -47.5 dBc. The phase noise level is about -110 dBc/Hz at 100 KHz offset frequency.

  • Eco driving comprises the use of feedback information that informs the driver of vehicle performance. This paper evaluated the performance of feedback device that reported instantaneous fuel economy to drivers while driving. We took the measurement by getting data through OBD port from commercial vehicle covered 67 km on road. The changes observed in fuel efficiency were established 10.6 % improvement in fuel economy.

  • This paper presents a multirate state feedback control (MRSFC) method for systems sensitive to disturbance and noise based on the multirate estimator design using the current estimator. MRSFC updates the controller output slower than the measurement sampling frequency of system output by a lifting factor R=T$\sub$c//T$\sub$s/. The closed-loop MRSFC system is less sensitive to disturbance and noise due to filtering effect than the conventional single-rate control system. The multirate estimator gain is obtained from solving a conventional pole placement problem such that MRSFC has the same spectrum of eigenvalues in the s-plane as the single-rate control. We applied the proposed multirate state feedback controller to a galvanometer servo system. Simulation and experimental results show that settling and tracking performances are improved compared with a conventional single-rate pole placement control (PPC).

  • The precision stage is an essential device for optic fiber assembly systems, micro machines and semiconductor equipments. A new piezoelectric inchworm type actuator is proposed to implement an actuator-integrated long-stroke linear stage. An in-and-quadrature phase (I/Q) heterodyne interferometer is developed as a feedback sensor of a servo system, and a synchronized counting method is proposed. The proposed measurement system can measure the accurate position of fast moving object with robustness to external sensing noise from actuator vibration. The developed servo stage will be applied to optic fiber device assembly system.

  • A disturbance rejection controller using eccentricity filtering and LQ control techniques is proposed to alleviate significantly the effect of roll eccentricity in multivariable cold-rolling processes. Fundamental problems such as process time delay inherent in exit thickness measurement and non-stationary characteristics of roll eccentricity signals can be overcome by the proposed control method. The filtered instantaneous estimate of roll eccentricity may be exploited to improve instantaneous estimate of the exit thickness variation based on roll force and roll gap mearsurements, and a feedforward compensator is augmented as a reference for a gaugemeter thickness estimator. And, LQ feedback controller is combined with eccentricity filter for the attenuation of the exit thickness variation due to the entry thickness variation. The simulation results show that eccentricity components have been significantly eliminated and simultaneously other distrubances also have been attenuated.
