  • Simple equivalent circuit model is developed for wireless energy transfer system via coupled magnetic resonances and practical design method is also provided. Node equations for the resonance system are built with the method expanding transformer's equations and the optimum distances of coils in the system is derived analytically for optimum coupling coefficients for high transfer efficiency. Moreover, to calculate the frequency characteristics for a lossy system the equivalent model is established at an electric design automation tool. The model parameters of the actual system are extracted and the results of modeling are compared with the measurement. Through the developed model, we can understand the principles that the system shows higher efficiency than conventional magnetic coupling systems and impedance matching is important to achieve high efficiency.

  • This work presents an active vibration control of a stiffened hull structure using a flexible macro fiber composite (MFC) actuator. As first step, the governing equation of the hull structure is derived in a matrix form and its dynamic characteristics such as natural frequency are obtained via a finite element analysis (FEA). The natural frequencies obtained from the FEA are compared with those determined from experimental measurement. After formulating the control model in a state space representation, an optimal controller is designed in order to attenuate the vibration of the stiffened hull structure. The controller is then empirically realized through dSPACE and control responses are evaluated in time domain.

  • Piezoelectric element is deformed by driving voltage pattern. We developed a device of moving LD(laser disk) to use the rapid deformation of piezoelectric element. If driving voltage is changed very rapidly, the difference of acceleration is accurred between spindle motor and LD. To move LD on turn table is attained by utilizing difference of acceleration. This paper describes theoretical and experimental results about the movement of LD and presents to measure the center of mass LD with unbalance force.

  • The SMT(Surface Mount Type) ferrite bead used to reduce the influx of power bus noise is modeled with parallel capacitor(C), series resistor(R) and series inductor(L). The simple equivalent circuit modeling doesn't agree with the measurement result. In this paper, we proposed the accurate equivalent circuit model of the ferrite bead at wide frequency range(50 MHz∼3 GHz) and analyzed the noise effect to the high speed IC(Integrate Circuit) with ferrite bead or not.

  • Korea is the best country for ship-building. But nowadays, the speedboat and yacht are not mostly developed yet. For the sleek lines of ship, more innovative transmission system should be obtained in the ship industry. In general, marine transmissions often use the straight shafts and the helical gears. So it makes problem that engine-room requires large space. In this case, conical gear is the best solution for this. Until now, technology of conical gear is not generalized, but it will be increased more through many applications. So, in order to get conical gear design technology by ourselves, this thesis is conducted. This paper was written to gain useful information of marine gearbox design applied conical gear through the measurement of backlash, computer analysis and tooth contact test of helical conical involute gear pairs.

  • Recently, Electronic & Electrical Products have problems how to reduce heat in trend reducing size and increasing speed. heat pipes worked by latent heats can solve problems for effective and quiet electronic applications. Heat Pipes have to be suitably designed for the external conditions due to showing optimum performance. it has influence on efficiency of heat pipes to the exterior structure changed by length, bending angle, diameter. Designing heat pipes has depended on experience from trial and error. this method wasted too many resources, but can't guarantee efficiency. to prevent those wastes, this study aims at making the thermal transfer coefficient predicting efficiency. In this study, the thermal transfer coefficient has been made from experimental results that used variables - lengths between heat source and radiation, bending angles, diameters of heat pipes. variables become non-dimensional in modeling process for making the coefficient.

  • This paper describes on RF circuit simulation technique, especially on a RF modeling and a model extraction of a LDMOS(Lateral Diffused MOS) that has gate-width (Wg) dependence. Small-signal model parameters of the LDMOSs with various gate-widths extracted from S-parameter data are applied to make the relation between the RF performances and gate-width. It is proved that a source inductance (Ls) was not applicable to scaling rules. These extracted small-signal model parameters are also utilized to remove extrinsic elements in an extraction of a large-signal model (using HP Root MOSFET Model). Therefore, we can omit an additional measurement to extract extrinsic elements. When the large-signal model with Ls having the above gate-width dependence is applied to a high-power LDMOS module, the simulated performances (Output power, etc.) are in a good agreement with experimental results. It is proved that our extracted model and RF circuit simulation have a good accuracy.

  • This paper presents the AC electric railway system modeling using PSCAD/EMTDC program. This system model is composed of the scott-transformer the auto-transformer. the running rails. the protection wires, the feeders. the catenary and contact wires, etc. After obtaining the models of the fundamental elements describing the AC electric railway system and its behavior, we have analyzed and tested real traction power feeding system focused on the amplification of harmonic current to verify the proposed model. The simulation results from the proposed approach and the measurement data from the test are described in the paper.

  • A new method of measuring residual stresses in micromachined films using beam or ring structures is proposed. Using the proposed method, more exact value of residual stress can be obtained without any ambiguities in conventional buckling method. Theoretical modeling with respect to this method is described, and experiment is performed. The structure and fabrication process in this paper are simple and widely used in surface micromachining. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a synchronous measurement. A synchronous and reason -able estimation of residual stresses in micromachined films enables us to obtain the prediction of more exact performance in micromachined devices.

  • LSPR(Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance) sensor measures the refractive index change on the sensor surface. The detection of biological reaction with the unknown refractive index needs to be converted into the signal sensitivity for the refractive index change for comparison with other measurements. To find the signal sensitivity, the three steps of signal processing are proposed, which are signal modeling, signal calibration and signal normalization of LSPR sensor. The detected signal of biotin-streptavidin interaction has been converted into unit of [RU](Resonance Unit) using the proposed method. The converted signal directly can be compared with the other sensors including commercialized one.
