Influence of Flux Density of Electric Leakage Area by Inundation (침수에 의한 누전지역의 자속밀도 영향)

  • Recently, important for the safety has been increasing together economic developments. The leakage only is measured by the voltage difference. This method is a way to contact the electric leakage area. It can cause electric shock at users. We propose a non-contact method to detect a short circuit in this paper. We investigate magnetic field at electric leakage area to present non-contact method. Simulated environment created a short circuit in the flooded areas. Voltage is supplied 50, 150 and 200[V]. Magnetic field was measured at 0, 5 and 10[cm]. Magnetic flux was reduced about $0.4[{\mu}T/cm]$ depending on the distance changes in the steady region. But we confirmed that magnetic flux is measured the same value depending on the distance changes in the electric leakage area.

Crystallite Size Measurement of Uranium Oxide Fuel Powders by Neutron Diffraction (중성자 회절에 의한 산화우라늄 핵연료 분말의 결정크기 측정)

  • The nano-scale crystallite sizes of uranium oxide powders in simulated spent fuel were measured by the neutron diffraction line broadening method in order to analyze the sintering behavior of the dry process fuel. The mixed $UO_2$ and fission product powders were dry-milled in an attritor for 30, 60, and 120 min. The diffraction patterns of the powders were obtained by using the high resolution powder diffractometer in the HANARO research reactor. Diffraction line broadening due to crystallite size was measured using various techniques such as the Stokes' deconvolution, profile fitting methods using Cauchy function, Gaussian function, and Voigt function, and the Warren-Averbach method. The non-uniform strain, stacking fault and twin probability were measured using the information from the diffraction pattern. The realistic crystallite size could be obtained after separation of the contribution from the non-uniform strain, stacking fault and twin.

ARAS coating with a conducting polymer (전도성 고분자를 이용한 ARAS 코팅)

  • A method for designing antireflection (AR) and antistatic (AS) films by the use of conducting polymer as an electrically conductive transparent layer is proposed. The conducting AR film is composed of four-layer with alternating high and low refractive index layer: silicon dioxide (n=1.44) and titanium dioxide (n=2.02) prepared at low temperature by sol-gel method are used as the low and high refractive index layer, respectively. The 3,4-polyethylenedioxythiophene (PEDOT) which has the sheet resistance of 10$^4$$\Omega$/$\square$ is used as a conductive layer. Optical constant of ARAS film was measured by the spectroscopic ellipsometer and from the measured optical constants the spectral properties such as reflectance and transmittance were simulated in the visible region. The reflectance of ARAS films on glass substrate was below 0.8 %R and the transmittance was higher than 95 % in the visible wavelength (400-700 nm). The measured AR spectral properties was very similar to its simulated results.

  • olycrystailine CdSe thin films were grown on ceramic substrate using a chemical bath deposition (CBD)method. They were annealed at various temperature and X-ray diffraction patterns were measured by X-ray diffractometer in order to study CdSe polycrystal structure. Its grain size was about 0.3 ${\mu}m$. Hall effect on this sample was measured by Van der Pauw method and studied on carrier density and movility depending on temperature. We measured also spectral response, sensitivity($\gamma$), maximum allowable power dissipation and response time on these samples.

  • Objective Wave reflection is an important factor that determines the shape of the pulse wave. The purpose of this study is to compare the conventional method used for estimating the reflection site of pulse with a cardiovascular simulator. Methods: In this study, cardiovascular simulator with one elastic tube was used. The pressure and flow was measured simultaneously at three different points. The measured data were used to the conventional methods to estimate the pulse wave reflection site. The results were compared with the known length which were the distances from the measured points to the end of tube. Results & Conclusions: There is a significant error with the time domain method. While, the reflection site with the frequency domain method was similar to the actual reflection site.

  • State estimation is to estimate the values of the states that minimize the error between the real states and the measured states, which are usually hampered by noise. It exploits the redundant data and the equality constraints achieved from the power systems. In the electric railway feeding systems, especially, the measured states may have significant level of noise in comparison with the commercial power systems. Since the meters - the sources of the data that include vehicles - are distributed in the long distance along the railroad, they are vulnerable to the signal interference. In this paper we have studied the application of state estimation method to the AT feeding systems and shown that this method can increase the reliability of the measured data.

  • This paper introduces a structural damage identification method to identify 4he multiple directional damages generated within a cylindrical shell by using the measured frequency response function (FRF). The equations of motion for a damaged cylindrical shell are derived. by using a theory of continuum damage mechanics in which a small material volume containing a directional damage is represented by the effective orthotropic elastic stiffness. In contrast with most existing vibration-based structural damage identification methods which require the modal Parameters measured in both intact and damaged states, the present method requires only the FRF-data measured at damaged state. Numerically simulated damage identification tests are conducted to verify the feasibility of the Proposed structural damage identification method.

  • In this paper, the planar LTS and Vibaldi antenna operating at 28 GHz for LMDS is optimized by finite difference time domain(FDTD) method and then fabricated and measured. We designed LTS and Vivaldi antenna with corrugation structure for reducing sidelobe, then these antenna are optimized by FDTD, and then fabricated and measured. In a results of the measured values, sidelobe level of LTS and Vivaldi antenna with corrugation structure is 4 dB lower than that of LTS and Vivaldi antenna.

  • A method for measuring array manifold which is the array antenna response of incident signal is presented. Array manifold measurement procedure by the presented method is explained for UCA(Uniform Circular Array), and spatial spectrum of 300 ㎒ tone signal incident on UCA is estimated by MUSIC algorithm in which spatial spectrum peak is searched with measured array manifold. Spatial spectrum estimation using array manifold measured by the proposed method shows superior performance to calculated array manifold.

  • The objective of this study is to design a laboratory specimen for simulating residual stress of circumferential butt welding of pipe. Specimen type and method for residual stress generation were proposed based on the review of prior studies and parametric finite element simulation. To prove the proposed specimen type and loading method, the residual stress was generated using the designed specimen by applying proposed method and was measured. The measured residual stress using X-ray diffraction reasonably agreed with the results of finite element simulation considered in the specimen design. Comparison of residual strains measured at several locations of specimen and given by finite element simulation also showed good agreement. Therefore, it is indicated that the designed specimen can reasonably simulate the residual stress of circumferential butt welding of pipe.
