  • An enterprise must achieve both a sound organizational management and effective development of individual members while maintaining a balanced approach. Relative to this, there is a research field dubbed as Organizational Activation. However, there is a necessity to clarify various factors required for organizational activation and to propose a methodology for organization management. This study is an attempt to create a model from an organization-a University Seminar Class-and agents therein-the Students and the Teacher-with an assumed goal of advancing together toward the students' self-growth. The model is expressed on two dimensional planes with vectors through a computer. Vectors are composed of the growth, demand, member, hindrance and student vectors. These vectors provide data to the mathematical model for a simulation. Each agent provided the individual information from the questionnaire-conducted to 169 university students. From the analysis data and extrapolations, this study was able to craft a guideline for future seminar activity. It also examines the possibility of assimilation of the Questionnaire Approach and that of the Computational Organization Theory approach. Finally, this study discusses the future possibility of application of the Assimilated Method for research and development, and for project management.

  • Axial piston pump is a significant part in wheeled armored vehicle, for generating hydraulic power of vehicle power system. The Axial Piston Pump is a high-performer, core functional item that is developed and applied to most of the military models in the development of military weapon systems. However, in the case of military equipment, there are conditions of limited size and weight required depending on the operating conditions and the operating environment. Under these conditions, it is required that the performance and the environmental resistance are verified to exert the required output. A unique technology is needed for the development of such equipment both in the present and in the future. Therefore, in this study, mathematical modeling of an axial piston pump is presented as a basic data for securing proprietary technology. In addition, a simulation model is designed and compared with the models of six kinds of pistons through simulation. It was established that when the number of pistons of the axial piston pump, which is the development objective, is seven, the model is suitable for the wheeled armored vehicle.

  • The 90 children in this study were grouped with 30 each in the experimental group, and the 2 comparison groups. Research methods over 8 weeks were in the sequence starting from teacher/assistant teacher education, then pretest, followed by development-adaptation of experimental model of math games, and post-test. The experimental group conducted child-initiated math games, comparison group I children proceeded with teacher-initiated math games, and comparison group II children proceeded with co-initiated math games. Statistical evaluation was by ANOVA and ANCOVA. Findings were that the child-initiated math game group scored higher on children's mathematical ability than the two comparison groups. Boys in the experimental group scored higher on children's mathematical ability than girls.

  • This study focuses on the teaching of fraction related to curriculum, introducing time of fraction, the meaning of fractions in textbook, material of teaching of fraction concept, teaching model of introducing time of fraction concept, special cases of teaching fraction and common points of representation of fraction among Korea, New Zealand and Singapore. For this study, Korea's mathematics textbooks(3-1, 3-2, 4-1, 5-1, 6-1) and New National Curriculum Mathematics(3, 4, 5. 6. 7)of New Zealand and New Syllabus Primary Mathematics(2B, 3B, 4A, 4B, 5A, 6A)of Singapore were selected for comparison and analysis. As a results we will suggest a reference to the development of mathematical curriculum, teaching fraction and improving the quality of the textbook through a method of comparative analysis of Korea, New Zealand and Singapore.

  • An assessment of the field performance of machines for varied farming conditions may be essential to the development of mechanization program and rational machinery management. The field performance of machines is largely affected by the field capacity of machinery selected, physical size and shape of field plots and their scatterness, farming functions and conditions, and labor requirement and constraints. The study was to develop the mathematical model for the field performance of machines and time requirement of the rice farming systems, considering those factors which affect the field performance of machines. The mathematical models developed were simulated to determine field efficiency and capacity of the different sizes of major machinery for a various size of paddy field plot and for prevailing conditions of farming operations. The effects of the sises of machinery and the plot geometry on the efficiency and field capacity were compared for major rice farming functions.

  • This study is to investigate what students want to learn and what mathematics teachers should teach in their classrooms. 1314 students and 527 mathematics teachers were randomly selected to administer the questionnaire. The result shows that their is a considerable mismatch between students'learning desires and teachers'teaching practices in classrooms. What students want to learn is creative knowledge; however, what they learn in the classroom is ‘imitative’ knowledge. This study suggests that the overall educational goal of mathematics education in Korea should emphasize (1) learning to communicate mathematically, (2) loaming to reason mathematically, (3) becoming confident in pupils'own ability, (4) learning to$.$value mathematics, and (5) becoming mathematical problem solvers.

  • The distribution of staff in a hierachial organization has been studied in a variety of forms and models. Results here show that the promotion process follows a binomial distribution with parameters n and $\alpha=e^{-pt}$ and the recruitment process follows a poisson distribution with parameter $\lambda$. Futhermore, the mean time to promotion in the grade was estimated.

  • A refuse incineration plant is a complex process, whose multi-variable control problems can not be solved conventionally by deriving an exact mathematical model of the process. The usage of advanced fuzzy technologies within the suitable development methodology is demonstrated by a controller implemented for the refuse incineration plant in Hamburg-Stapelfeld, Germany.

  • In this paper, we present our prototype of a web manual creator that is based on MSP technology embedded in webMathematica. This tool gives courseware authors more simple ways to make their own mathematical web contents. We first classified authoring models for creating mathematical content development and proposed an advanced model. The final application called phpMath can generate MSP-driven documents automatically using Mathematica commands typed by users. In other words, phpMath users can make interactive dynamic mathematical web contents even though they do not know anything about web server, HTML, and webMathematica. We illustrated the details of the prototype from the user's perspectives followed by comments on usefulness.
