유아원 아동의 창의력과 수학개념의 성취에 대한 개방수업방식과 지시수업방식의 비교 (A Comparison of open and Directed Teaching Styles on Creativity and Achievement in Mathematical Concepts of Nursery School Chidren)

  • This study compared the effects of open and directed teaching styles on creativity and mathematical achievement. The subjects were 32 three- and four-year-old children enrolled in the Home Economics Laboratory Nursery School at the University of Arkansas during the fall semester of 1987. In this study, the open teaching style was a child-oriented method of teaching with the help or guidance rather than the actual instruction of teacher, while the directed teaching style was a teacher-oriented method of teaching with actual instruction of the teacher. Forty-eight activities and materials relevant to mathematical concepts appropriately designed for the subjects were used. The nursery school children were divided into morning and afternoon groups. Utilizing a Latin square design, the children in the morning group were taught by the directed teaching style for four weeks followed by a three week period of no planned mathematical activities, then taught by the open teaching style for four weeks. The children in the afternoon group followed the same schedule except the open teaching style was first. At the end of the two four-week sessions of mathematics experiences Thinking Creatively in Action and Movement and selected items of Tests of Basic Experiences 2: Mathematics were administered. The scores of each of the two tests were analyzed using a t-test of dependent measures for the two teaching styles, the sex, and the age of the children. Children taught using the directed teaching style showed a significantly higher originality and mathematical achievement scores than those taught using the open teaching style. Differences for sex and age revealed that the directed teaching style was a significantly better method of instruction to foster the originality for boys and the mathematical achievement for four-year-old children.

초등수학교육에서 스토리텔링의 의미와 적용 방안 -초등수학교과서를 중심으로- (The Meaning and Applications of Storytelling in Elementary Mathematics Education-Focused on Elementary Mathematics Textbooks)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초등수학교육에서 스토리텔링의 의미와 수학 수업에서의 적용 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 최근에 수학교육에 도입한 스토리텔링의 의미에 대한 이론적 고찰과 2009 개정 초등수학과 교육과정에 의해 개발한 초등수학교과서의 스토리텔링 적용 단원에 대한 분석을 통하여 수학교육에서 스토리텔링의 의미와 적용 방안을 제시하였다. 스토리텔링을 적용하여 개발한 초등수학교과서의 특징을 알아보기 위하여 1~2학년군 수학(3) 4단원 길이재기 단원에 대하여 분석하였다. 분석의 관점은 교과서에서 제시하고 있는 스토리텔링 방식이 학습자의 지적 자율성의 고려, 학습자의 수학 개념의 이해 및 기능 숙달, 그리고 학습자의 흥미 및 인성교육을 어떻게 고려하고 있는지에 대한 것이었다. 연구 결과 분석 단원은 전반적으로 3가지 관점에서 이들을 비교적 잘 반영하고 있었으나 수업에서 활용해야 하는 교과서의 한계로 인하여 보다 개선된 수학 스토리텔링이 필요함을 지적하였다. 초등수학교육에서 의미있는 스토리텔링의 적용 방안으로 스토리의 구성 및 흥미와 수학개념 이해를 위한 구성이 조화를 이루어야 함을 제안하였다. 또한 지속적인 연구로 스토리텔링에서 학생들에게 보다 세련된 스토리로 제시할 것과 대안적인 수학 스토리텔링으로 디지털스토리텔링 등을 제안하였다.

  • In this paper we are obtained new results for bivariate pro-cesses which help us to tell the dependent structure among hitting times of the processes. We are proposed both dependence properties and the-oretical results among the processes and certain kinds of dependence properties when we are imposed on processes are reflected as analo-gous properties of corresponding hitting times. Finlly we are given some examples to illustrate these concepts.

  • Life of a system involves hazards from various sources which, it is believed, can be assessed by means of quite simple expressions. By a suitable combination of these expressions to provide for the relevance of each of the hazards, it is held that a realistic appraisal of the sensitivity of each type failure can be adequately monitored. This paper accordingly presents the mathematical concepts in relation to each of the hazards and then proceeds to indicate the general relationship which these have to some experiences in life monitoring.

  • In this paper, we introduce the concepts of $r$-closure and $r$-interior defined by intuitionistic gradation of openness. We also introduce the concepts of $r$-gp-maps, weakly $r$-gp-maps, and obtain some characterizations in terms of $r$-closure and $r$-interior operators.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce and study new notions of continuity, compactness and stability in ditopological texture spaces based on the notions of ${\beta}$-g-open and ${\beta}$-g-closed sets and some of their characterizations are obtained. Finally, the relationships between these concepts and the other related concepts are investigated.
