The purpose of this study is to analyze the elevations of standard rural house designs after the 1990's. Various types of analysis were carried out on a total of 18 different sizes and 50 types of designs with p'yong sizes ranging from 12 to 44. The objects of analysis are the various elevations & the roof types that were supplied in the standard rural house design according to each year 1995 (8 sizes 20 types), 1997 (8 sizes 8 types), 1998 (l size 8 types), 2000 (2 sizes 4 types), 2001 (2 sizes 4 types), and 2004 (3 sizes 6 types). Results from the analysis demonstrate that (1) The gable roof has been used as the roofing type for standard rural house design since 1990. However the roof types of the standard rural house design includes only a few different types of gable roofs and roof materials(most roof types use asphalt shingle). (2) While most front elevations have been altered from asymmetrical to symmetrical most rear elevations have evolved from symmetrical to asymmetrical proportions since the 1990's (3) While siding materials and red-brick were most commonly used the main outer-wall materials prior to 2000, environmentally-friendly materials have been used as outer-wall materials since 2000. (4) In terms of the analysis of outer-wall objects before 2000 the walls were even, yet after 2000 these outer-walls evolved to become concave-convex walls. In other words, the evolution of the outer-wall has included a variety of wall types.
This study attempted to explore the MC design methods of modular construction using discontinuous double module grids and further, the design methods of walls. Modular construction is generally characterized with multiple units called modules with a module dimension of 3M(300mm) appearing in the form of double grids. The discontinuous double grids including correction values and gap values occurs inevitably in the modular construction where units are joined horizontally. Therefore, it is desirable to carry out the MC design taking into account these discontinuous double grids. In this study, the MC design was applied to the plane of wooden houses in modular construction, going through a process of setting the size of pillars and inside dimensions, of determining the dimension of discontinuous double grids that occur during the assembly of units, and of setting the dimension of outer walls in conjunction with the derived dimensions. The dimension of outer walls was applied differently depending on the range of regional use by analyzing the energy performance with the materials used. Consequently, the materials and components of factory-produced buildings can be used directly without processing, and the suitability of the outer wall design can be pre-determined by previewing the calculation of the cross-sectional configuration and heat transmission coefficients of outer walls in modular construction, allowing to be used as a decision-making tool of design.
This study aimed to identify changes in the physical properties of artificial mineral-fiber materials used as building insulation that had been installed in the outer walls of buildings for a long time. To achieve this goal, glass fiber and rock wool were collected from outer walls in actual buildings and their acoustic and thermal performances were measured. These were compared with measurements from similar products manufactured recently. The results showed that old, used samples had a lower sound absorption coefficient compared to recently manufactured materials. The old samples also displayed increased compressibility compared to new materials. For example, the compressibility difference for glass wool was 7.32 mm. Old samples had a dynamic stiffness $1.28MN/m^3$ higher than new material samples. The thermal conductivity of both old and new samples increased within creasing temperature. They showed similar results at temperatures between 0 and $20^{\circ}C$.
Monoclonal antibody for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabiol (THC Ab), conjugated with protein A-gold, was employed as a probe to detect THC localization in the gland and subjacent cells of chemically fixed bracts of Cannabis. THC was detected in the outer wall of the disc cells, fibrillar matrix, the surface feature of secretory vesicles, and sheath throughout development of the secretory cavity. The probe was absent from vesicles. Label was also present in anticlinal walls of disc cells and walls of dermal and mesophyll cells. Little or no THC Ab was present in disc cells and none were detected in control tissues. This distribution pattern of THC Ab was similar to that in tissues prepared by high pressure cryofixation-cryosubstitution. Consistent association of THC with wall and wall-derived materials suggests that cannnabinoids are synthesized outside the plasma membrane and bound to a wall component, where-upon they are transported to the cavity with wall materials released from the disc cell wall during development of the secretory cavity.
This study focused on the composition of the exterior space of Parkjinsagoga, the types of gardens and planting and the landscape characteristics of walls, and examined its meaning as modern garden remains. Parkjinsagoga is a modern Korean house that harmonizes traditionality and practicality, and is an invaluable material for research not only on architecture but also on changes in the gardens of upper-class gardens. Its exterior space can be divided largely into An-chae (inner house), Outer Sarang-chae (outer house) and Inner Sarang-chae areas, and a garden was created in each yard (inner garden). In particular, one thing noticeable is that the yard of Inner Sarang-chae, unlike traditional gardening styles, was actively decorated. At the center of the yard of Inner Sarang-chae, two atypical planters and artificial moundings were created and the traffic line of the garden was designed to enjoy them while walking. An atypical pond was created on one of the artificial moundings and trees and shrubs were densely planted. Natural stones were also placed. The style seemed to be affected by Japanese gardens. These characteristics observed in the gardens of Parkjinsagoga are closely related to the transitional characteristics that traditional gardens started to show in modern times. A total of 35 families and 57 species were planted in the gardens of Parkjinsagoga and there were 19 species of tall trees, 20 species of shrubs and 17 species of flowering plants. The number of species planted in the garden of Inner Sarang-chae was the highest, and a total of 22 species of tall trees and shrubs. The walls in Parkjinsagoga were basically earth and rock-fill walls but their materials and patterns differed depending on the type of spaces. Four types of walls were found to be introduced to the house.

Microscopic techniques were used to observe the microstructure of rice husk. Microscopic examination showed that two main components of husk, lemma and palea consisted of outer epidermis, layers of fibers, vascular bundles, parenchyma cells, and inner epidermis, in sequence from the outer to the inner surface. The outer epidermal walls were extremely thick, highly convoluted and lignified. The underlying fibers were also thick-walled and lignified. Parenchyma cells were thin-walled and unlignified. Inner epidermal cells were also unlignified. The outer surface of both lemma and palea were conspicuously ridged, but the lower surface had a flat appearance. As part of a detailed study to characterize rice husk using microscopic and micro-analytical techniques, distribution of silica was also examined, and is presented elsewhere. Rice husk can potentially be used as a raw material for making composite products and the observations presented here form valuable background information for our future work related to product development.
Recently, "The rules on the standards of evacuation and fire protection of buildings" require that non-burnable materials such as non-combustible and semi-non-combustible materials be used as the materials applied to the building's exterior walls, but styrofoam, which is a combustible material, has been applied a lot and became a social issue. In this study, we developed a non-combustible outer wall molding to secure construction and economic feasibility and free expression using CLC(CLC: Cellular Light-weight Concrete).
Film growth rate of InP and GaAs using TMI, TMG, TBA and TBP is numerically predicted and compared to the experimental results. Obtained results show that the film growth rate is very sensitive to the thermal condition in the reactor. To obtain exact thermal boundary conditions at the reactor walls, we analyzed the gas flow and heat transfer in the reactor including outer tube as well as the inner reactor parts using a full three-dimensional model. The results indicate that the exact thermal boundary conditions are important to get precise film growth rate prediction.
