As a environment of SCM is issued recently, many enterprises are concerned about inventory control for an efficiency of operation and reliablity. The goal of them is to match up to improving of facilities and redoing of inventory cost. To put an efficiency in the operation rate of facilites, A moderate provision of spare parts for that would come into a matter. This study designs two-echelon spare parts distribution system and sees over the relationship between operating rate and inventories of spare parts. and then it determines fitting inventories and investment cost considering an operating rate.

In this paper, we develop the matching priors and the reference priors for linear combination of the means under the normal populations with equal variances. We prove that the matching priors are actually the second order matching priors and reveal that the second order matching priors match alternative coverage probabilities up to the second order (Mukerjee and Reid, 1999) and also, are HPD matching priors. It turns out that among all of the reference priors, one-at-a-time reference prior satisfies a second order matching criterion. Our simulation study indicates that one-at-a-time reference prior performs better than the other reference priors in terms of matching the target coverage probabilities in a frequentist sense. We compute Bayesian credible intervals for linear combination of the means based on the reference priors.

Recently, efficient manufacturing of high precision is an important issue in modern industry as more variety of industrial products is being designed with compound surfaces. Rapid CAD data generation can be possible based on a non-contact type CMM of object through the use of reverse engineering. However, some registration to match the data measured from various directions into a common coordinate system is required. Also, the error can happen if it uses the conventional method to large product of thin thickness. So it is necessary to develop a new method, which was designed for the registration of large and thin products. Additionally, an algorithm to pick up coordinates for the newly designed method was proposed.

As well known, a solar cell has an optimal operating point to be able to get the maximum power $P_{max}$. So, many $P_{max}$ tracking controllers using the line voltage of a solar cell have been popularly used. But it may vary depending on the miss match between the solar cell output and the load. In this paper, we investigate the possibilities of $P_{max}$ control using the current tracking controller and the output voltage and the output current instead of the solar cell output power. And we also examine about the optimal power converter using ZVCS step up and down chopper circuit to operate the solar cell at an optimal voltage using these variables. And then, we show some experimental results to confirm the successful operation.

Field measurements were conducted to analysis lateral dynamic characteristics of existing steel plate girder railway bridges without ballast. Three bridges which have 9m, 12m, 18m span length in Kyoung-Bu Line were selected for test. According to the each bridge, dynamic lateral deflections and accelerations were measured. From the present study, it was observed that dynamic lateral amplification phenomena caused by a fluctuation of lateral force were occurred under the current running circumstances. Lateral deflections were occurred below than that specified in Korean railway bridge specification, but lateral accelerations is a match for vertical accelerations. From now on, it is in need a plan to reduce lateral accelerations for the conventional railway Line speed up.

To match the requirements of heterogeneous mobile devices, video objects may be transcoded, which requires considerable CPU resources. Alternatively, multiple versions of the same video may be stored on servers, but this requires a lot of disk space. We formulate the trade-off between the versions that are stored on disk and the need for transcoding. We propose an optimal solution to this formulation based on dynamic programming. Experiments show that our scheme allows up to 68% more clients to be admitted than conventional schemes when a reasonable amount of storage is available.

This paper presents a novel method to speed up neural network (NN) based face detection systems. NN-based face detection can be viewed as a classification and search problem. The proposed method formulates the search problem as an integer nonlinear optimization problem (INLP) and develops an improved genetic algorithm (IGA) to solve it. Each individual in the IGA represents a subwindow in an input image. The subwindows are evaluated by how well they match a NN-based face filter. A face is indicated when the filter response of the best particle is above a given threshold. Experimental results show that the proposed method leads to a speedup of 83 on $320{\times}240$ images compared to the traditional exhaustive search method.

DSP chip parameters of a digital hearing aid (HA) should be optimally selected or fitted for hearing impaired persons. The more precise parameter fitting guarantees the better compensation of the hearing loss (HL). Digital HAs adopt DSP chips for more precise fitting of various HL threshold curve patterns. A specific DSP chip such as Gennum GB3211 was designed and manufactured in order to match up to about 4.7 billion different possible HL cases with combination of 7 limited parameters. This paper deals with a digital HA fitting program which is developed for optimal fitting of GB3211 DSP chip parameters. The fitting program has completed features from audiogram input to DSP chip interface. The compensation effects of the microphone and the receiver are also included. The paper shows some application examples.

This thesis is designed to draw up scheme for human resources development of the Korean software industry. Its concrete scheme is as follows. That is, IT professionals with international competitiveness should be cultivated, and a human resource development system, which can flexibly meet the market demands, has to be built. Pool of specialized programmers is necessary condition for achieving competitiveness in Korean software industry. Reeducation is also desirable to embody the agile productive capability into the existing human resources for new challenges in the industry. Well-organized human resources database will also make it easy to match new demand and to lower the transaction cost in switching jobs. To cope with the rapidly changing environment actively, human resource development and training system improvement through the cooperation with the concerned industries, universities, research centers and the government must be settled immediately.

In this paper, the dynamics of a novel 2-DOF planar Translational Parallel Manipulator (TPM) is analyzed. The suggested TPM is made up of two PPa (Prismatic-planar Parallelogram) legs. Since all the linear actuators are mounted on the base, the proposed TPM can be applied for high speed positioning applications. The Lagrangian equations of the first type is employed to derive the inverse dynamic equations. It is shown that the analytical inverse dynamics equations match very well with ADAMS simulations. These analytical inverse dynamics equations will be used for the real-time computed torque control in the further work.
