A method for the mass production was designed by using a screw pumping system that can supply safe bifidobacteria. To prevent the inhibition of cell activity, various additives, which are able to preserve pore of an alginate bead, were used. When materials are sterilized, viscosity decreased below 300cp. Adding bifidobacteria, viscosity increased to 300cp. We manufactured various extrusion nozzles and tested mass productivity of the alginate bead. As a result, 18G, 4mm length sylinge with 13 multi-nozzle showed the best productivity which was about $308{\pm}3ea/min$.

Outdoor cultivation of cyanobacterium Spirulina platensis was carried out for 40 days in a batch mode. A half concentration of the SOT based on the underground water was used as culture medium. Working volume was 5.7 tons with 0.2 m depth. During cultivation, mean water temperature, DO and light intensity were all in proper conditions for the S. platensis growth. The adjustment of pH to over 10 with Na2CO3 and addition of the 1.5% natural salt were very effective to delete contaminant organisms, Chlamydomonas moewusii and Chlorella minutissima occurred one after the other in the culture. The mean productivity of the biomass based on the dry cell weight from 14 to 25 days, after the contaminants were deleted, was 7.8 g ·m–2· d–1, which was relatively high productivity in that a half concentration of the SOT was used for the culture. Underground water used in the culture minimized contaminants invasion and addition of the 1.5% natural salt was effective to delete contaminants as well as acted as mineral supplement in outdoor cultivation of S. platensis. Harvesting using the floating activity of S. platensis was effective from mass floating in day time after overnight without agitation and illumination.

The process of manufacturing printed electronics using printing technology is attracting attention because its process cost is lower than that of the conventional semiconductor process. This technology, which offers both a lower cost and higher productivity, can be applied in the production of organic TFT (thin film transistor), solar cell, RFID(radio frequency identification) tag, printed battery, E-paper, touch screen panel, black matrix for LCD(liquid crystal display), flexible display, and so forth. In general, in order to implement printed electronics, narrow width and gap printing, registration of multi-layer printing by several printing units, and printing accuracy of under $20\;{\mu}m$ are all required. These electronic products require high precision to the degree of tens of microns - in a large area with flexible material, and mass productivity at low cost. As such, the roll-to-roll printing process is attracting attention as a mass production system for these printed electronic devices. For the commercialization of this process, two basic electronic ink technologies, such as conductive ink and polymers, and printing equipment have to be developed. Therefore, this paper addressed basis design and test to develop fine patterning equipment employing the roll-to-roll printing equipment and electronic ink.
To determine the optimum light intensity for mass culture of the brackish-water cyclopoid copepod Paracyclopina nana, survival, growth, and productivity of the copepod were examined at several light intensities (0, 10, 100, 500, 1,000 lx). The survival rate of P. nana from nauplius to adult decreased with increasing light intensity. The highest survival rate was found under the dark condition, with 61.7% surviving; no significant difference was observed between 0 and 10 lx (51.7%) and the lowest survival rate was with 100 lx (26.7%). Survival rates at 500 and 1,000 lx were significantly lower in comparison with other conditions. The developmental period from nauplius to copepodid (5.8 days) and to adult (11.8 days) at 10 lx was significantly shorter than in the other treatments. Daily mean nauplius production of adult females over 7 days at 0, 10 and 100 lx was significantly higher than at 500 and 1,000 lx. In the 1,000 lx treatment, 99% of the adult females died on the $14^{th}$ day. The optimum light intensity for the mass culture of P. nana could be 10 lx, which had no adverse effects on survival, development, or reproduction.
Personalized production represents the changing production and consumption in the fourth industrial revolution. Manufacturers in each field are making great efforts to introduce this concept, but it is difficult to find a flow of change such as in the craft industry, especially in the workshop system. I will try to measure the possibility of fusing personalized production in the craft workshop in accordance with the changing production and consumption. To do this, we examined the concept and examples of mass custom production, which is a similar system, and defined the customized production. Then, we recognized the production status of the modern craft workshop and consequently examined the possibility of convergence based on two basic points of productivity and communication.
The production of extracellular polysaccharide by Methylomonas mucosa (NRRL B-5696) was investigated. The microorganism uses methanol as the carbon source for their growth and produces exopolysaccharides. The productivity of exopolysaccharides was investigated under various culture modes: batch, fed-batch and continuous culture. In flask culture the growth of cell mass and the production of polysaccharide were inhibited at above 1% (v/v) methanol. At 1%(v/v) methanol maximum specific growth rate was obtained. As C/N ratio (g methanol/g ammonium sulfate) increased, polysaccharide production increased and cells mass decreased. Magnesium ion was also found to be essential for the polysaccharide production. In batch culture the production of polysaccharides was more affected by the specific growth rate than the cell concentration. In fed-batch culture the concentration of polysaccharide was 4 times higher than that of batch culture, but the yield was lower. The productivity of fed-batch with continuous feeding was higher than that of batch or fed-batch with intermittent feeding. This is due to no methanol limitation or inhibition that used to occur in fed-batch culture with intermittent feeding. In continuous culture pure oxygen was supplied to avoid the oxygen limitation. As the dilution rate in- creased up to 0.21 h-1, the yield and productivity increased. The solution viscosity of the produced polysaccharide obtained from above increased exponentially with the concentration of polysaccharide.
In this study, it was observed that hydrogen productivity varied with changes of input g1ucose concentration and dilution rate in FBR( Fixed Bed Reactor), and CSTR(Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor). We evaluated and compared reaction rate Parameters and internal external and overall mass transfer resistances of immobilized carrier in both reactors. Apparent $K_m$ decreased with increasing dilution rate in FBR but showed a constant value above $0.4h^{-1}$ of dilution rate in CSTR. The experimental results in FBR showed nearly analogous to those in CSTR, however, the performance of FBR resulted in lower hydrogen productivity and an external effectiveness factor but a higher internal effectiveness factor than in CSTR. The overall effectiveness factor obtained with various input 91ucose concentrations showed similar values in both reactors.
Prodigiosin as a high-valued compound, which is a microbial secondary metabolite, has the potential for antioxidant and anticancer effects. However, the large-scale production of functionally active Hahella chejuensis-derived prodigiosin by fermentation in a cost-effective manner has yet to be achieved. In the present study, we established carbon source-optimized medium conditions, as well as a procedure for producing prodigiosin by fermentation by culturing H. chejuensis using 10 L and 200 L bioreactors. Our results showed that prodigiosin productivity using 250 ml flasks was higher in the presence of glucose than other carbon sources, including mannose, sucrose, galactose, and fructose, and could be scaled up to 10 L and 200 L batches. Productivity in the glucose (2.5 g/l) culture while maintaining the medium at pH 6.89 during 10 days of cultivation in the 200 L bioreactor was measured and increased more than productivity in the basal culture medium in the absence of glucose. Prodigiosin production from 10 L and 200 L fermentation cultures of H. chejuensis was confirmed by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analyses for more accurate identification. Finally, the anticancer activity of crude extracted prodigiosin against human cancerous leukemia THP-1 cells was evaluated and confirmed at various concentrations. Conclusively, we demonstrate that culture conditions for H. chejuensis using a bioreactor with various parameters and ethanol-based extraction procedures were optimized to mass-produce the marine bacterium-derived high purity prodigiosin associated with anti-cancer activity.

This test was performed on the hydraulic automatic gauge control(AGC) system of adaptive mass flow method. Fundamental purpose of this study are performance evaluation of this AGC system under the actual rolling condition. It was concluded that the response of AGC system depends on the dynamic characteristics of a reel motor or roll position. The test results are as follows : 1) The control method of reel motor current is better than than of the roll position as AGC system. 2) The more steel strip thickness of delivery side is thick, the larger the gauge deviation is large, and the more it is thin, the larger the gauge deviation rate is large. 3) Because the gauge deviation is large at acceleration and deceleration speed than steady speed, so AGC system is better to adopt over 50m/min. By applying this AGC system, not only the accurary in strip thickness were improved but also productivity was improved dramatically.
