Objective: The aim of current study was to evaluate the changes of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and its clinical, demographic and socioeconomic determinants during chemotherapy and 4 months follow-up in women with breast cancer using a repeated measures framework. Methods and Materials: A double blind cohort study was performed in 100 breast cancer patients given fluorouracil, doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide (FAC) or docetaxel, doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide (TAC) in south of Iran. HRQoL was assessed at baseline, end of chemotherapy and four months thereafter using the QLQ-C30 questionnaire from European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). Generalized estimating equations (GEE) was applied for statistical analysis. Results: The mean of age at baseline was $48.5{\pm}10.6$. 70% and 14% of patients were married and smokers, respectively, and 20% suffered from another disease besides breast cancer. The results of GEE showed that after control for baseline scores, the HRQoL significantly improved over time. Although, the patients in FAC group had higher scores than the TAC group, the differences also diminished over time. Smoking, marital status and having child affected some scales of HRQoL. None of other variables were significantly related to HRQoL. Conclusion: Although patients in TAC groups had lower level of HRQoL over 8 months follow up, they experienced faster improvement than the FAC group. This implies that in long-term, improvements in TAC group are higher than FAC. Having children was positively correlated with HRQoL. Generally, there were no demographic and socio-economic differences in HRQoL in these patients between the chemotherapeutic regimens.

Objectives : Combined treatment (CT) of oriental herbal medicine and prescribed drugs is now being increasingly used among cancer patients around the world. However, in Korea, clinical information on the frequency, efficacy and safety of CT among cancer patients has not yet been thoroughly reported. This study aimed to identify the status and adverse effects of CT for the management of cancer patients. Methods : A questionnaire and medical record survey by oriental medical doctors or physicians were performed at two oriental medical hospitals and one general hospital. Of the initial 400 in-patients, 368 participated in this survey, representing a response rate of 92.0%. Results : Among cancer patients in oriental medical hospitals, the proportion of CT was 45.9%. In contrast, the proportion of CT in the general hospital was only 0.6%. The proportion of CT among breast cancer patients (20) and gastric cancer patients (35) were 85.0% and 51.4%, respectively. The proportion of CT among cancer patients was high in younger, female or married patients groups. 10 respondents (11.1%) among 90 cancer patients experienced several adverse effects including nausea, fatigue, etc. Conclusions : This study suggests that many more patients in oriental medical hospitals than general hospitals use combined treatment of oriental herbal medicine and prescribed drugs for management of cancer. Therefore, medical professionals should provide comprehensive and up-to-date clinical information about potential benefits and risks of CT to cancer patients in Korea.
The purpose of this study was to examine the predictors of burnout among informal caregivers of older adults. One hundred thirty seven caregivers who had provided care to older adults over 60 years of age for more than one month were included in the study. Most of the caregivers were white (91%) and female (78%). Mean ages of the caregivers were 64 years and 78% of them were married. Seventy percent of the older adults suffered from Alzheimer and related disease. In this study, caregivers reported that they experienced burnout once a month. The scores of emotional exhaustion and reduced personal accomplishment of the caregivers were in the moderate burnout range. To examine the predictors of burnout, discriminant analysis was used. Caregivers were divided by two groups based on the sum of scores (cutpoint=6) on three dimensions of burnout after each dimension was categorized into high(3), moderate(2), and low(1). Nine predictors were included in the analysis : Caregiver's age, employment status, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) of the older adult, presence of dementia of the older adult, caregiver's empathy toward the older adult (emotional and cognitive), and 3 coping strategies (negative, problem-focused, cognitive reconstructioning). Caregivers who reported high burnout showed higher cognitive empathy toward the older adults than those who showed low burnout. Caregivers who experienced high burnout used negative coping more often, and cognitive reconstructioning coping and problem focused coping less often than their counterparts. Wilks' Lambda was .78 indicating that differences between the two groups were significant. Cognitive empathy and cognitive reconstructioning coping showed high standardized canonical discriminat function coefficients over .40. Discriminant function with 9 predictors correctly classified 71% of the sample. In conclusion, informal caregivers also experienced certain level of burnout. Cognitive empathy and coping strategies predicted burnout experience of the caregivers. Based on this study, nursing intervention to the informal caregivers to improve their cognitive empathy toward the older adults and to modify their coping strategies in a way to reduce burnout experience can be applied. Further research to develop effective nursing interventions for the purpose of reducing burnout experience by modifying predictors was suggested.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of individual and interpersonal variables on early childhood teachers' efficacy of problem behavior guidance. Individual variables consisted of teachers' socio-demographic characteristics, experience of training course on problem behavior guidance and warm-hearted attitude. Interpersonal variables consisted of intimacy with colleagues, support from the principal of a kindergarten, parental partnerships. Subjects were 122 early childhood teachers in Busan. Major findings were as follows. There were significant differences in teachers' efficacy of problem behavior guidance with respect to teachers' age, teaching experience, position, marriage status, experience of training course on problem behavior guidance, warm-hearted attitude, intimacy with colleagues, and support from the principal of a kindergarten. In other words, a higher level of teachers' efficacy of problem behavior guidance was shown in the teachers who were older, highly experienced, or in higher positions. In addition, teachers who were married, had completed a training course on problem behavior guidance, had a higher warm-hearted attitude, had a intimacy with colleagues, or had a support from the principal of a kindergarten were found to have higher efficacy of problem behavior guidance. As results of examining relative effects of individual and interpersonal variables on efficacy of problem behavior guidance, the influential variables are teaching experience, warm-hearted attitude, support from the principal of a kindergarten, and position in that order.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors affecting the self-perceived halitosis of adults and to utilize them as basic data for the development of prevention and management program to reduce of self-perceived halitosis. Methods: A questionnaire survey of 301 adults in their 20s and 50s living in Gwangju and Jeonnam selected by convenience sampling from July 1, 2017 to August 31, 2017 was conducted to investigate oral health status and behavior, fatigue and perceived stress. Statistical analysis was performed using frequency analysis, independent t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The degree of self-perceived halitosis was higher in married (2.51) and unemployed (2.71), with tongue brushing (2.68), intention to participate in halitosis education (2.57), taking medication (2.73), coated tongue (2.82) and there was both otolaryngology and gastrointestinal disease (2.72) and periodontal disease (2.89) (p<0.05). Fatigue (${\beta}=0.237$), periodontal disease (${\beta}=0.196$), and coated tongue (${\beta}=0.237$) affect the self-perceived halitosis (p<0.001). Conclusions: The self-perceived halitosis in adults was correlated with fatigue and perceived stress. Also fatigue, periodontal disease, coated tongue factors were analyzed as factors influencing self-perceived halitosis. Additional studies such as prevention and management of periodontal disease and coated tongue, which is a factor of self-perceived halitosis in adults, and development of programs to reduce self-perceived halitosis for fatigue management, which is an external factor, are necessary.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find out how to provide the correct information about toothbrushing and to promote oral health. Methods:A survey was conducted from December 2016 with 354 subjects who are over 20 years old in South Korea to find out the influence of the using toothbrush. The results are as follows. Statistical analysis of the collected data was performed using the SPSS WIN 21.0 statistical program. Results: After reviewing the result that the using toothbrush of oral health according to the general nature, the average score of the female $3.94{\pm}0.87$ was higher than the male, the highest average score of 50-59 age was $4.10{\pm}0.83$. As for the highest average score regarding martial status, the married group's score was $3.91{\pm}0.88$. After reviewing the factors affecting the toothbrushing, the age group of 50-59 has the highest using toothbrush and the more using toothbrush in oral health, the more using toothbrush. Conclusions: Systematic dental health education program is needed to increase the correct knowledge of time to replace the toothbrush among the public. Also it is needed to increase people's toothbrushing constantly by acquiring the information through SNS, AD, and mass media.
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to find out factors that affect turnover intention among dental hygienists. This study also provides a method to decrease the turnover intention, and demonstrates plans to improve organizational effectiveness. Methods : The data was collected from 300 dental hygienists working at dental clinics in Daegu and Kyungbuk province during the month of September, 2010. The total of 152 copies were used for analysis. The questionnaires were consisted of 6 categories: turnover intention, empowerment, organizational commitment, burnout, stress, and job satisfaction. T-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, multiple regression were applied in this analysis. Results : 1. Looking at the relations between turnover intention and general characteristics, urnover intention was the highest among 20-29 age group, junior college graduates, and the group that had lees than 2-5 years of working experiences(p<0.05). Regarding marital status, singles had higher turnover intention than married people. 2. Looking at the correlation among turnover intention, empowerment, organizational commitment, burnout, stress, and job satisfaction, most of these factors showed significant correlations. However the correlations between organizational commitment and stress, stress and empowerment, stress and job satisfaction were not significant(p<0.05). 3. Organizational commitment and stress had significant influence on turnover intention(p <0.05). Organizational commitment was the most significant factor and it negatively influences the turnover intention. Conclusions : In order to decrease the turnover intention among dental hygienists, plans that can increase the organizational commitment should be implemented by improving organization-related factors.

The Korean wave 'Hallyu' has proliferated in China and the trend is remarkable especially in wedding photography. Korean style wedding photography has gained wide popularity among newly married Chinese couples because it is regarded as fresh and trendy. Accordingly, there is an urgent need to develop and supply dress designs for Chinese brides who want Korean style wedding photography. This study outlined the current status of Hallyu and wedding photography in China in order to analyze dresses for wedding photography. Chinese brides were analyzed to outline the features of preferred designs. The dresses preferred by Chinese brides for wedding photography included wedding dresses, evening dresses, and casuals (respectively), and partly featured traditional dresses. The preferred design elements for wedding dresses and evening dresses were ball gown silhouettes, strapless necklines, and gather detail. As for the casuals preferred by Chinese brides, the romantic style was most preferred and the skirts, dresses, T-shirts and blouse items were preferred for the romantic style. Through the analysis, dress designs for Chinese brides who want Korean style wedding photography were developed to reflect Hallyu content as well as 2012 S/S fashion trends for wedding dresses, evening dresses, and casuals. Currently Korean style wedding photography is gaining popularity in China and Hallyu content is considered a fresh and competitive item that may strongly appeal to Chinese consumers. This study focused on the development of designs for wedding photography dresses with Hallyu related content and is to be used as a reference for the development of Hallyu related wedding products as well as the proliferation of Hallyu.
The purposes of this study were to assess the school foodservice purchasing practices and to explore the ways to improve the school foodservice purchasing management. The purchasing questionnaire was composed of three parts, the part one consisted of questions on characteristics of dietitians and school foodservice operations, and the others consisted of questions concerning purchasing practices and importance & performance of food suppliers. 286 dietitians of elementary school foodservice operations in Seoul were participated with the survey. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS/win for descriptive and t-test. The school foodservice operations which employed a chef were 50.3%. Only one third of the dietitians(34.1%) reported having been involved in the selection of food suppliers. In dietitians' demographic data, 36.6% were over 30 years old, 32.4% were 28-29 years of age and 31.0% were below 27 years old. Most of the respondents(68.3%) had overall working experiences less than 58 months and almost half of them(56.3%) were married. The food suppliers' attributes with high scores of mean importance were food quality, maintenance of food quality, accuracy in filling orders, quality of delivery facilities, on time delivery and packaging. Average mean scores for importance and performance were 4.33('important') and 3.50('so-so') out of 5. In the comparison of importance attributes, produce suppliers had a significant higher score on suppliers(P<0.05) than processing food suppliers. Processing food suppliers received significant higher performance scores on product(P<0.05) and service(P<0.05) compared to produce suppliers.

In order to obtain an information for the improvement of wives' meal management especially in dual-income families, the survey was carried out through questionaires to 159 married women teachers(employed wives: EW) and 157 housewives(HW) in Daejeon city, from the Sep. 20 to 30, 1983. Most of the two groups' wives did not plan menu(74.7 %), and considered taste firstly when meal preparation and food buying. In EW, time was more considered than the other points for meal preparation and cookbook was more used than other sources of cooking methods, while in HW, cost, and, the mass media (p<0.01). Among 6 convenience foods, sausage, ham were used more frequently in EW and instant noo-dles and fried fish cake, in EW. Both the two groups' dietary pattern of three meals was similar, but much more of the EW(56.1 %) purchased foods for between meals rather than prepared at home in comparision with the HW. Almost all the HW prepared three meals themselves but the EW did not so. In the EW, husband and mother-in-law often assisted with meal-related activities, but in the HE, daughters (p<0.01) . HE spent more time on meal-related activities than do EW (Hw: 4.1 hrs/day, Ew·: 3.2 hrs/day) . The preparation time for supper was longest among three meals. As the problems of meal management, both the two groups' wives pointed 'too much time' (43.1 %), 'lack of nutrition knowledge '(42.8 %), but EW' husbands, 'no variety of cooking method'(42.8 %), while HW' husbands, 'lack of nutrition knowledge'(34.3 %).
