Cardio-cerebrovascular disease is one of the chronic diseases that often attack people in Korea, and in fact, it ranks second in terms of death rate. This disease can be prevented by improving lifestyle, usual health care is important. But, in Korea most of the prevention or management programs adopt passive methods like using guide books or giving lectures, so it is not very effective in preventing the disease. Presently, the smart health care market is being developed in Korea and overseas. As an example, quantified self is being spread through wearable devices which are intended to measure each individual's health conditions and quantify body data into numbers for bettering habits. Accordingly, this author will explore and discuss wearable health care devices so as to prevent and manage cardio-cerebrovascular disease in a more active way. First, this study has classified wearable health care devices presently commercialized or related with cardio-cerebrovascular disease into wrist, clothes, or attaching types by the way of their attachment and analyzed them. After that, summing that up, this author performed cross-tabulations with other ways of preventing cardio-cerebrovascular disease. This will contribute to improving one's health care behavior about disease more actively and also work as an active interdisciplinary mechanism in research dealing with how to prevent disease afterwards.
This study aims to emphasize the importance of social inclusiveness for evaluation and future development of social policy in Korea. In particular, this study emphasizes that the future of social policy in Korea depends on the level of social inclusiveness. Social inclusiveness can be measured by the extent to which social policy is inclusive and the level of citizens' perception of social inclusiveness. This study uses 4 frameworks (universality, progressiveness, life-long, and adequacy) of inclusive asset-based policy to evaluate the level of social inclusiveness of key laws and social policies. Key findings are as follows: First, Korea has established normative systems of laws and social policies. Second, however, Korean social policy has multiple problems in universality, progressiveness, life-long, and adequacy. To enhance social inclusiveness of social policy, this study emphasizes the 'socialness' of social problems. Korea has faced market failure, the high level of rate experiencing poverty during life, and inefficiency of social policy. If we accept the socialness of social problems, social policy should attempt to increase publicness of social policy. The increase in socialness as well as social inclusiveness may be fundamental for inclusive society in Korea.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic efficiency of the policy implemented by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on leading company in sport industry. The leading companies in sport industry are those who have a certain amount of sales in sport industry and the ones with potential to become global companies. Supporting areas include business advancement, overseas market development, and overseas PR marketing integration support. The research is performed by developing the equilibrium model composed of supply as well as demand and applying input-output analysis. The economic efficiency is estimated to in the form of changes in the sales of corporations and the ripple effect of the national economy. The results of the study are as follows. First, it is estimated that the sales growth rate of the company due to the implementation of the policy is from 3.74% to 5.19%. Second, the increase in sales reaches to a maximum of KRW 4,081 billion with a minimum of KRW 1,573 million, depending on the size of the company. Third, it is estimated that the production inducement effect for the national economy is from KRW 36 billion to KRW 93.4 billion. Fourth, the induced value added for the national economy is estimated to be at least KRW 11.3 billion, up to KRW 29.2 billion.
The purpose of this study is to devise successful strategies for launching of new brands in franchise companies based on cases of 'Gamarogangjung' of Masedarin Inc. The results of case analysis shaw following successful strategies. First, Masedarin Inc. has used its core competence; Masedarin Inc., which managed chicken franchises for many years, launched the new brand, 'Gamarogangjung' based on its differentiated technologies and infrastructure. Second, the brand, 'Gamarogangjung' has used market oriented strategy actively; the brand has reflected customers' needs to its adminstration immediately by understanding and sharing of customers' needs at the corporate level. Third, Masedarin Inc. has differentiated a business model from other companies; by using 'take out' purchasing system instead of 'delivery to doors' or 'purchasing by visiting', the company has saved huge management cost. Fourth, Masedarin Inc. developed a new kind of business which is differentiated from existing chicken franchise brands or take-out restaurants. Fifth, Masedarin Inc. has appealed its sincerity to franchisees; its business information session, which explains about the business openly without exaggeration, has drawn a high rate of franchise agreement. Sixth, Masedarin Inc. changed its way of thinking about conditions of a location for member stores. The company has selected 'A' level locations for their member stores which enables 'quick sales at small profits' while other take-out stores are usually located at 'B' level location. Lastly, Masedarin Inc. has given thorough instructions to the staff of member stores. And immediately after opening of the stores, franchisees were able to operate the stores comfortably because the company educated the staff repeatedly over a long period to make them master skills before the opening of the store.
Domestic franchise industry is a promising business to more than 10% per year growth rate and emerging as core of retail. In addition, due to the socio-cultural phenomena, including the retirement of the baby-boom generation, the growth of the franchise industry for some time expected to continue. But Domestic franchise reveals that limits to ensure for new franchisees because that few industries are concentrated to advance for franchisor and franchisees. Therefore, in this study is a new brand development approach and case study results it focus on the BEERBARKET's successful story of INTO FRANCHISE SYSTEMS, INC. Case analysis results of this study, are reveled that franchise headquarters derived through research methods and research information, environmental survey and analysis should be continuously and objectively. Thus, based on the derived contents, the new brand Biz-Model should be established for recognition from the industry and customers. Ability to respond sensitively to changes in the environment and business activities can be associated with linking franchise headquarters belonging to the saturated competitive environment more is needed. Through proactively respond Franchise New business launching instance that BEERBARKET's successful story of INTO FRANCHISE SYSTEMS, INC. suggests the need to study about how to respond to environmental changes.
The critical link between consumer-based internet ordering and the delivery of the product to the consumer is a key success factor in online shopping. Market areas of online shopping company implies the range of space where products ordered from online shopping can be physically delivered to customers distributed over space with reasonable shipping cost and lead time through the physical distribution network. The average rate of growth in online shopping is 36% per year in Korea for the last 5 years. But there are no maps available that describe sales/delivery density of online shopping, few researches are focused on the short-term/long-term adaptation to demand increase by online shopping. In this paper (1) Maps of trade area are described indicating the sales/delivery density around the nation. (2) Empirical researches suggested that short-term adaptation to demand increase resulted in price reduction and service in enhancement of service quality in local transportation. But the long-term adaptation on the parts of parcel delivery industry are to be investigated in future researches.
Despite the recent rapid advancement of science and technology, we have been experiencing the decline in productivity since the 2000s. This study aims to investigate the decline at both industry and firm levels, by looking at the emergence and growth of large firms such as Amazon, Alphabet, and Apple and M&A trends. Following the results of previous studies, our results show that productivity at industry level has decreased since the 2000s. Particularly, in the period after 2011, the deterioration of allocative efficiency due to the large firms and the decline in the growth rate of surviving firms in the industry with low ratio of large firms contributed to the productivity decline. On the other hand, our analysis at firm level demonstrates that the productivity of firms that acquired IT firms improved over the entire period. While M&As have a positive impact on productivity, M&As with a demand-side motive such as market penetration and expansion of channels have a relatively larger impact than the ones for production or operation efficiency. Our results also suggest that the higher the proportion of large firms in a specific industry, the lower the productivity of individual firms in the same industry. Overall, given that the industry's structural changes for digital transformation tends to strengthen the growth of large firms, our findings have significant implications by empirically identifying the relationships of the emergence of large firms, the acquisition of IT/Non-IT firms, and motivations for M&As to firm/industry productivity.

This study was carried out to analyze the effect of changes in the light environment caused by the daylight disturbance on the growth, flowering, and cut flower quality of spray chrysanthemums. The spray chrysanthemum 'Yellow Cap' and 'Pitch PangPang' cultivars for cut flowers were artificially shaded to interfere with 66% of sunlight compared to the non-shading, and then the growing and flowering characteristics, and cut flower yield were investigated accordingly. There was no significant difference in the cut flower yield per unit area between the shading and the non-shading treatments. However, the number of days to flowering was 72.1 days for the 'Yellow Cap' and 65.2 days for the 'Pitch PangPang', which were delayed by 14.1 and 8.9 days, respectively, compared to the non-shading light. In the shading treatment, the flower diameter and the number of flowers also decreased by 10% and 15%, and 30% and 28% for both 'Yellow Cap' and 'Pitch PangPang', respectively. The stem length also decreased by 10% and 20%, the stem diameter by 23% and 37%, and fresh weight by 32% and 33%, respectively. The shading treatment delayed the flowering of chrysanthemums and reduced the growth such as flower diameter, number of flowers, and the length and weight of cut flowers. Based on these results, the daylight disturbance by artificial buildings is expected to reduce the productivity and quality of cut flowers by limiting the light intensity needed for chrysanthemum growth, flower bud differentiation, and flower development. Therefore, further research is needed on the rate of decrease in yield and market value according to the degree of shading to relieve damage to chrysanthemum growers caused by the daylight disturbance.
Purpose - With the increase of non-face-to-face activities due to the spread of COVID-19, O2O industry has grown rapidly which reduces contact points between suppliers and consumers. O2O platform is now recognized as an indispensable channel of distribution, but the voice is getting louder that it is necessary to check how it contributes to the performance of suppliers or how its fee system or contract terms affects the expansion of O2O industry as the leading companies tend to monopolize the market. Design/methodology/approach - In this study, the scope was limited to the restaurant industry in which transactions are the most active among the O2O industry and a regression analysis was done on 775 businesses that had used guarantor service from the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation. Findings - Analysis on the impact of O2O platform system, information, and service quality on the business performance of the sole proprietors revealed that the system quality represented by ease of use and the information quality determined by level of timely, accurate and reliable information provided to the consumers have a statistically significant effect on the improvement of business performance. In addition, the effect of business performance on the loyalty measured by the likelihood of users continuing to use the service as well as recommending it to others was moderated by the satisfaction with contract terms, not by the fee system. Research implications or Originality - Although the number of O2O platform providers has increased manyfold, the membership rate is no more than 20%, which means that the small business owners are still struggling with digital transformation. In order for the O2O industry, which is now commonplace, to form a healthy ecosystem that satisfies both suppliers and consumers, the standard contract guidelines that are acceptable to both parties must be established and the O2O providers must offer services that help suppliers to improve performance.

In 2017, the United Nations reported that the population aged 60 and above was increasing more rapidly than all younger age groups worldwide, projecting that by 2050, the population aged 60 and above would constitute at least 25% of the global population, excluding Africa. The world is experiencing a decline in the rate of increase in the working-age population due to global aging, and the younger generation tends to avoid difficult and challenging occupations. Although theoretically, AI equipped with artificial intelligence can replace humans in all fields, in the realm of practical information security, human judgment and expertise are absolutely essential, especially in ethical considerations. Therefore, this paper proposes a method to retrain and reintegrate IT professionals aged 50 and above who are retiring or seeking career transitions, aiming to bring them back into the industry. For this research, surveys were conducted with 21 government/public agencies representing demand and 9 security monitoring companies representing supply. Survey results indicated that both demand (90%) and supply (78%) unanimously agreed on the absolute necessity of such measures. If the results of this research are applied in the field, it could lead to the strategic development of senior information security professionals, laying the foundation for a new market in the Korean information security industry amid the era of low birth rates and longevity.
