  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the market-labor participation of married women and their demand for an additional child, The theories from 'Economics of Fertility' by Willis and Bekerian 'Household Production Model' were applied to develop the theoretical model. For the empirical analysis National Data for Fetility in Korea was used, Even though the model was fully developed based on economic theories only the pasychological or value-related variables were appeared to be statistically significant. That means in Korea the decision-making for market work and fertility are still following the traditional way as it is.

  • The introduction of electricity industry provides generators incentives to recover the related cost through the market. Hence, the generator should sell his/her electricity at high market-clearing price with optimal operation of his/her power plant. The maintenance of power plant is the most critical factor in affecting generators' decision-making. This paper analyzes technique for establishing maintenance schedule reflecting recovery cost and considers differences in monthly load pattern in minimizing LOLP.

  • The purposes of this study were (1) to segment female college students' apparel shoppers into unique apparel buying decision-making style groups; and (2) to profile for each segment in terms of personal characteristics (material values, change seeking tendency and prestige sensitivity) and fashion information sources. Data were collected through questionnaires from convenient sample of 290 female college students. As a result of cluster analysis and univariate analysis of variance, distinctive consumer decision-making style groups of consumers were identified; Value-maximizing Recreational Shoppers, Brand-Maximizing Emotional Shoppers, and Apathetic Shoppers. These three groups were compared as to the effect of personal characteristics variables and fashion information sources through univariate analysis of variance and chi-square statistics. The result showed that personal characteristics (material values, change seeking tendency and prestige sensitivity) and fashion-information sources do influence the consumer decision-making styles and that these three groups were unique in their decision-making characteristics showing that consumer decision-making styles can be a good segmentation base for apparel market.

The questionnaires cover the areas of life style pattern study. the characteristics of demographic sociology, decision-making process related to the use of medical service. The influencing factors were analyzed and as a result total 18 factors were singled out. Cluster analysis was performed to differentiate similar responses. • This paper attempts to identify variables which affect Korean electronic commerce(EC) venture's strategies for the international market entry decision making. Especially in the perspective of quality management perspective, it is highly relevant question which factors are critical when the industry has high technology driven characteristics such as EC, product quality related factors or environmental factors. Technology competence, operational competence, local marketing competence, psychological barriers, domestic competition level, and local infrastructure level are included to generate the explaining model for international market entry decision. The result is that the higher technology competence and local marketing competence are the significant factors. The higher the perception in these factors, the higher the intention to enter the international market in EC industry. These factors play a pivotal role in determining to go abroad the foreign EC market. Our finding implies that the subjective confidence on quality of EC solution(technology competence) and venture's capability of maintaining it(local marketing competence) are the important factors, when EC ventures make the decisions to enter the foreign markets.

  • Systematic studies on the dispatch scheduling algorithm and related constraints can enhance the effectiveness of electricity market operation. Moreover, since various decision-making matters connected to dispatch schedule in competitive electricity market directly affect the market participants' profit, the dispatch scheduling procedure should be reasonable and systematic to convince them. Therefore, to prevent a dispute among the participants, these studies are indispensible requisites for the effective electricity market operation. In this paper, we develop unconstrained/constrained dispatch schedule algorithm applicable to Korean wholesale electricity market.

  • This paper aims to construct an effective decision making model on selection of product design in product development using fuzzy AHP technique. It is expected that this paper contributes to enhancement of company's market competitiveness by shortening the lead time to develop a new product and minimize initial investment. The proposed model using fuzzy AHP enables quick decision making by integrating and analyzing all customer requirements related to a product. In addition, it can deal with vagueness and uncertainty of decision making process using fuzzy set theory. Decision making processes for evaluating the best selection of product design are also constructed to describe the exact concept of development. A tennis racket is shown as an example. The proposed model is expected to be applied in various fields of managerial decision making processes as well as of product development process.

  • This paper assessed environmental sanitation behaviour of market operators in selected markets in Ibadan, Nigeria. The two largest markets in the study area (Aleshinloye and Bodija markets) were selected for sampling. The selected markets represented the two types of markets; modern and traditional markets. The modern market comprises 3803 shops while the traditional market comprises 5943 shops. Multistage sampling technique was adopted in questionnaire administration. The selected markets were stratified into zones based on the goods sold. Systematic sampling was used in the selection of traders across the markets. 2% of traders were selected for sampling in each category of goods sold making a total of 189 respondents. This comprises 77 of traders from modern market and 112 traders from traditional markets. Descriptive and Inferential statistics were used in analysing the data. Findings revealed poor access to environmental sanitation facilities especially at the traditional market. The study also established poor environmental sanitation behaviour in terms of utilisation of available amenities across both markets. It recommended a synergy of efforts by all environmentally concerned institutions in managing the market environment. It also advocated for the provision of environmental sanitation facilities in markets by, government, market management authorities, traders, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs). In addition environmental education is imperative while enforcement of environmental regulations in the market and others with similar setting is strongly encouraged.
