Bulhwangeumjeonggisan (BHGJGS) is a traditional herbal formulation generally used in the treatment of cold and gastritis. BHGJGS consists of eight herbal plants; Atractylodis Rhizoma, Magnoliae Cortex, Citri Pericarpium, Glycyrrhizae Radix, Agastachis Herba, Pinelliae Rhizoma, Zingiberis Rhizoma and Zizyphi Fructus. Complete standardization of this formulation has not been done yet. So, a simple and accurate method was developed and validated using Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) with Diode Array Detector (DAD) for the standardization of BHGJGS. UPLC conditions were optimized using a c18 RP-Amide column with mobile phase; 0.1% phosphate buffer and acetonitrile, detection wavelength; 210 and 325 nm. The linearities of calibration curves were acceptable ($R^2$>0.9994), and the limit of detection and quantification were within the ranges of 0.011-0.091 and $0.034-0.277{\mu}g/ml$ respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of intra- and inter-day precisions were under 3.61%. The RSD of repeatability was under 0.68 %. The results of recovery test were 94.4-107.9%, and the RSD were under 4.6%. The developed method was used to find the contents of standard constituents in BHGJGS mix extract powder, and two commercial formulation (A and B). The data show that the developed method was specific, sensitive, accurate, and precise for analysis of BHGJGS components.

The paper presents a framework for developing real-time multi-user board games and applications in augmented reality. Recently, increase the environment to playing game in augmented reality with advancement of computing ability improvement and wireless networking technique of mobile device. While the trend of utilizing this kind of games is creasing, the facts that there is a shortage of games whose contents are attractive to users. In this paper we propose a framework that enables game content developers to develop new game contents base on augmented reality easily and quickly. This framework is an automatic service that can augment in various methods by using the supported marker recognition service. Therefore game contents developers do not need to know about either augmented reality technique or the inner process structure. The framework also supports special functions and various interaction interfaces for augmented reality board game and components of the board game we can implement. These enable developers to accomplish all the necessary components and structures of the board game more easily.

A simple high performance liquid chromatography - diode array detector (HPLC-DAD) method has been developed and validated for simultaneous determination of the six components (cinnamic acid, cinnamaldehyde, eugenol, atractylenolide I, atractylenolide III, and ergosterol) in Oryeongsan. In addition, identification of six marker compounds was conducted by a LC-MS/MS analysis. The six compounds in Oryeongsan were separated on Shishedo $C_{18}$ column (5 ${\mu}m$, $4.6{\times}250$ mm) at a column temperature of $30^{\circ}C$. The mobile phase was a mixture of 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) water and acetonitrile employing gradient elution at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelength was set at 205, 250, 280, and 330 nm. The developed method had good linearity ($R^2$ > 0.9997) and the limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were observed within the ranges 0.01~0.15 and 0.05~0.45 ${\mu}g/mL$, respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) values of intra- and inter-day testing were indicated that less than 3% and 90.31~103.31% of accuracy. The results of recovery test were 90.56~106.72% and RSD range was measured from 0.84 to 2.95%. In conclusion, this HPLC-DAD method has been successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of six compounds in Oryeongsan samples.

Citrus junos seeds (CS) have been traditionally used for the treatment of cancer and neuralgia. They are also used to manufacture edible oil and cosmetic perfume. A large amount of CS shells without oil (CSS) are discarded after the oil in CS is used as foods or herbal remedy. To efficiently utilize CSS as a by-products, it needs to be studied through chemical analysis. Therefore, we developed an ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC)-diode array detection (DAD) method for simultaneous determination and quantitative analysis of five components (two flavonoids and threes limonoids) in CSS. A Waters Acquity UPLC HSS T3 column C18 (2.1 × 100 mm, 1.8 ㎛) was used for this separation. It was maintained at 40 ℃. The mobile phase used for the analysis was distilled water and acetonitrile with gradient elution. To identify the quantity of the five components, a mass spectrometer (MS) with an electrospray ionization (ESI) source was used. The regression equation showed great linearity, with correlation coefficient ≥ 0.9912. Limits of detection (LOD) and limits of quantification (LOQ) of the five compounds were 0.09 - 0.13 and 0.26 - 0.38 ㎍/mL, respectively. Recoveries of extraction ranged from 97.45% to 101.91%. Relative standard deviation (RSD) values of intra- and inter-day precision were 0.06 - 1.15% and 0.19 - 0.25%, respectively. This UPLC-DAD method can be validated to simultaneously analyze quantities of marker flavonoids and limonoids in CSS.
In this study, a high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector method was established, for simultaneous determination of three compounds, berberine, palmatine and geniposide in Hwangryunhaedok-tang, To develop and validate method, $C_{18}$ column (5 ${\mu}M$, 4.6 mm${\times}$250 mm) was used with gradient mobile phase, water containing 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) and MeOH at the column temperature of $30^{\circ}C$. UV wavelength was set at 230 and 280 nm. Validation of the chromatography method was evaluated by linearity, precision and accuracy test. Calibration curve of standard components showed good linearity ($R^2$ > 0.9999). The limits of detection (LOD) and limits of quantification (LOQ) varied from 0.05 to 0.17 ${\mu}g/ml$ and 0.15 to 0.53 ${\mu}g/ml$, respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) data of intra-day and inter-day test were in less than 2.99% and 1.90%, respectively. The results of the accuracy test were in the range of 98.36 to 102.52% with RSDs values 0.32 to 1.98%. The results of validation indicated that this method was a very accurate and sensitive assay.
Objective: Aim of present study was the set up of a fast and reliable protocol using species-specific markers for the quali-quantitative analysis of DNA and the detection of ruminant biological components in dairy products. For this purpose, the promoter of the gene coding for the ${\alpha}$-lactoalbumin (LALBA) was chosen as possible candidate for the presence of short interspersed nuclear elements (SINEs). Methods: DNA was isolated from somatic cells of 120 individual milk samples of cattle (30), Mediterranean river buffalo (30), goat (30), and sheep (30) and the gene promoter region (about 600/700 bp) of LALBA (from about 600 bp upstream of exon 1) has been sequenced. For the development of a single polymerase chain reaction (PCR) protocol that allows the simultaneous identification of DNA from the four species of ruminants, the following internal primers pair were used: 5'-CACTGATCTTAAAGCTCAGGTT-3' (forward) and 5'-TCAGA GTAGGCCACAGAAG-3' (reverse). Results: Sequencing results of LALBA gene promoter region confirmed the presence of SINEs as monomorphic "within" and variable in size "among" the selected species. Amplicon lengths were 582 bp in cattle, 592 bp in buffalo, 655 in goat and 729 bp in sheep. PCR specificity was demonstrated by the detection of trace amounts of species-specific DNA from mixed sources ($0.25ng/{\mu}L$). Conclusion: We developed a rapid PCR protocol for the quali-quantitative analysis of DNA and the traceability of dairy products using a species-specific marker with only one pair of primers. Our results validate the proposed technique as a suitable tool for a simple and inexpensive (economic) detection of animal origin components in foodstuffs.

Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma has been extensively used by human beings as a medicinal herb as well as natural sweetener. In this study, we performed quantification analysis of three major constituents including liquiritin, glycyrrhizin, and glycyrrhetinic acid in the 70% ethanol extracts of non-processed Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma and processed Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma using a high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with photodiode array detector. The analytical column for separation of the 3 constituents used a Gemini C18 column kept at $40^{\circ}C$ by the gradient elution of two mobile phase. The amounts of liquiritin, glycyrrhizin, and glycyrrhetinic acid in non-processed Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma were 2.57%, 3.52%, and not detected. After processing by roasting, the best roasting temperature and time of iquiritin, glycyrrhizin, and glycyrrhetinic acid were $160^{\circ}C$-15 min (2.46%), $160^{\circ}C$-15 min (3.67%), and $240^{\circ}C$-15 min (0.76%), respectively.
Timely diagnosis of hyponatremia is important for preventing potential morbidity and mortality as it is often an indicator of underlying disease. The most common cause of eurvolemic hyponatremia is the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone (SIADH) secretion. Recent studies have demonstrated that proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin (IL) $1{\beta}$ and IL-6 are involved in the development of hyponatremia, a condition that is associated with severe inflammation and is related to antidiuretic hormone (ADH) secretion. Serum sodium levels in hyponatremia are inversely correlated with the percentage of neutrophils, C-reactive protein, and N-terminal-pro brain type natriuretic peptide. Additionally, elevated levels of serum IL-6 and IL-$1{\beta}$ are found in inflammatory diseases, and their levels are higher in patients with hyponatremia. Because it is significantly correlated with the degree of inflammation in children, hyponatremia could be used as a diagnostic marker of pediatric inflammatory diseases. Based on available evidence, we hypothesize that hyponatremia may be associated with inflammatory diseases in general. Understanding the mechanisms responsible for augmented ADH secretion during inflammation, monitoring patient sodium levels, and selecting the appropriate intravenous fluid treatment are important components that may lower the morbidity and mortality of patients in a critical condition.

Ground-based measurements were conducted from January 6 to 12 of 2015 for understanding characteristics of nitrogen containing carbonaceous aerosols as 16 amino acids at the Mokpo National University, Korea. The detailed amino acid components such as Cystine ($(SCH_2CH(NH_2)CO_2H)_2$) and Methionine ($C_5H_{11}NO_2S$) and their sources were analyzed by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography with Fluorescence Detection (HPLC-FLD) for behavior of secondary products in particulate matter. In addition, organic carbon (OC) and elemental carbon (EC) based on the carbonaceous thermal distribution (CTD), which provides detailed carbon signature characteristics relative to analytical temperature, and water soluble organic carbon (WSOC) by total organic carbon (TOC) analyzer were used to understand the carbon compound behaviors. The backward trajectories were discussed for originations of carbonaceous aerosols as well. Different airmasses were classified with the amino acids and OC thermal signatures. The results can provide to understand the aging process influenced by the long-range transport from East Sea area.
Human Erythropoietin (EPO) gene is cloned in quail fibrosarcoma cell, QT35. Because molecular weight of EPO is similar to that of serum albumin, cell culture with serum containing medium makes purification of EPO very difficult. Using fractional factorial study, we have developed serum free medium for the recombinant QT35 cell lines, QT N4D4 and QT SY-IMP, which have cloned EPO with glutamine synthetase (GS) gene amplification system and with puromycin selective marker, respectively. Among the seven frequently used medium components, fibronectin, BSA, and EGF were the most important for EPO production. However, sufficient fibronectin supplement to the medium did not make any good attachment of QT35 to culture plate over 3 days. Therefore, to maximize EPO production, we attempted a medium-shift at confluence from serum containing medium to serum free medium(QT SFM6). Using the medium-shift protocol with QT SFM6, nearly the same productivity of EPO was achieved comparing with that without medium-shift. This result was true in both QT35 cell lines in three types of culture, i.e. T flask, microcarrier and roller bottle cultures.
