Object-Oriented Modeling Technique (OMT) [1] promotes better understanding of requirements, cleaner designs, and more maintainable systems. A development of Group Decision Support System (GDSS) needs this advantage of OMT. GDSS designed through OMT proposes 3 modelings, object modeling, dynamic modeling, and functional modeling. This paper illustrates a design of GDSS using these 3 modelings. By exploiting the object-oriented paradigm, this design results in a highly system-independent design. And this paper shows some implementation issues including a tip of C++ code.

In the construction industry, IT has been an alternative for the enhancement of productivity and technical advances through a paradigm shift. While it has been recognized that the IT system will have a substantial influence on the industry, a quantitative valuation has been very limited. This paper has chosen EVMS (Earned Value Management System), which supports the integrated management of cost and schedule by utilizing IT tools, and which is the largest trend in the construction IT industry in Korea, in order to suggest an analysis model for the valuation of IT. The CVM (Contingent Valuation Method) is used to quantitatively measure intangible value of IT application. Then, a valuation and analysis model were suggested for the quantitative valuation of the effect of IT adoption. In terms of willingness to pay for EVMS, the expected benefits from the adoption of EVMS were US$ 584.52 per man annually. This research should be helpful for construction companies evaluating their investment to Project Management Information System.

The use of computers in architectural professions has grown with the power of easy data management, increased sophistication of standalone applications, inexpensive hardware, improved speed of processing, use of standard library and tools for communication and collaboration. Recently, there has been a growing interest in distributed CAAD (Computer-Aided Architectural Design) integration due to the needs of direct collaboration among project participants in different locations, and Internet is becoming the optimal tool for collaboration among participants in architectural design and construction projects. The aim of this research is to provide a new paradigm for a CAAD system by combining research on integrated CAAD applications with recent collaboration technologies. To accomplish this research objective, interactive three-dimensional (3D) design tools and applications running on the Web have been developed for an Internet-based distributed CAAD application system, specifically designed to meet the requirements of the architectural design process. To this end, two different scopes of implementation are evaluated: first, global architecture and the functionality of a distributed CAAD system; and, second, the association of an architectural application to the system.

This paper examines the traits and directions of family policy represented in the Basic Code of Healthy Families. Strategies for the development of family policy for family professionals and policy makers to provide integrated services for families and the implications of such strategies are also discussed. A family-friendly and a life course perspective are adopted in order to strengthen and expand family policies and promote the establishment of a healthy families' support center. The perspectives and issues of the Basic Code of Healthy Families are reviewed in the light of a paradigm shift in family policy in Korea, with suggestions for adoption of the family policy also addressed.

This paper is to find out that the concept of Flow has been a key role on the use of internet by using the pre-test and analysis. This study suggests a new paradigm of fashion merchandising as an environmental change of the fashion industry. The study has the pattern of a literature study and it is analyzed through journals, professional books, fashion magazines, and newspapers. Examined are the environmental changes of the fashion industry, the condition, and problems of the merchandising process that is executed currently, as well as an examination of the concept of fashion merchandising, Concepts and changes for new fashion merchandising strategies are suggested that are helpful for academics and fashion companies. This paper defines the concept of new fashion merchandising as the integrated management activity of planning, development, and selling fashion products to create a profit for the company with the satisfaction of the target customers. This study proposes the pursuance of integrated merchandising, the change of product planning and product development, and the strengthening of store-centered retail merchandising in order to change the direction of fashion merchandising.

The organizational theory and design in future encourages us to bring a fluid perspective to the problems and challenges face. Organizational structure, strategy, management style, teamwork, organizational change, and even products and services can be vitalized and re-formed through creative images that allow us to act in new ways. Leaders and educators sat all levels must gain comfort in dealing with the insights and implications of diverse perspectives. In a leadership paradigm in action, leaders and educators who have more flexibility and willingness to create a learning organization are successful in improving productivity and student empowerment. The key element to organizational structure and changes for interior design education becomes communications. Finally, we need to recognize that despite its roots in mechanistic thinking, organization is a creative process of imagination. We organize as we imagine, and it is always possible to imagine in new ways.

China has been experiencing high economic growth along with massive change in its industrial structure. How will the industrial structure change affect the Chinese economy? Similar changes were observed by Japan, when the Japanese banking system fell into a structural failure in terms of the inability to respond to the paradigm shift from "catching up" to "frontier economy." This paper is undertaken to highlight the lessons that China can learn from Japan's prolonged financial slump. We point out that big cities in China have already shifted to frontier economy and major provinces are on the same trend. We argue that in spite of economic reform reshaping the Chinese banking system, the financing pattern of state owned commercial banks (SOCB) is not in line with the industrial change. The Chinese banking system should be overhauled or transformed to respond to the increasing uncertainty along with the paradigm shift. Otherwise, China may fall into the same dilemma that Japan had faced in its industrial structure change.

Despite the large and ongoing investments in information systems and technologies, many organizations still suffer from the lack of integration and interoperability of multiple information systems, In order to deal with these enduring problems, a number of government organizations and corporate firms in the United States have developed and maintained IT architectures through enterprise architecture planning. An IT architecture is a decision-making framework for IT planners and developers, establishing guidelines for the individual IT resource owners and users. It provides guidance to those involved in building and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure. Enterprise architecture planning represents a new paradigm of information systems planning in that it addresses the long-term view of the enterprise organization from top-level principles to detailed technology architectures. This paper explores a couple of cases in the successful implementation of IT architectures in both public and private sectors, and proposes a step-by-step methodology for building an effective IT architecture.
